NOTES ON D7 (From Astrology Astrology Lessons By Narasimha Rao sir): 1) How to major influences on Lagna of children:
To see the 1st child asc, one needs to count 5 th house from ascendant (forward or backward) If there is odd sign in the asc then count 5houses fwd, if there is even sign in the asc, count 5houses backward Now check where that 5th lord is placed, that will give hint about major influences on asc. For example, Sagittarius is rising in d7, as its an even sign, we will count 5 th th house from backward, in 5 house there will be scorpion sign, whose lord is mars.. So one needs to see placement of mars to see the major influences on lagna.. If mars is placed with Jupiter Jupiter in Gemini… then in asc of our first child there will be major influences of mars, jup and a nd mercury.. It doesn’t necessarily mean child will be of Gemini lagna, but lagna will have major influence of mercury.. Sometimes one of major influencing planet in d7, is our child’s atmakaraka too.. If there are two or more planets influencing our childs lagna in our d7, and one planet is very weak there, it may not have influence on actual lagna of child. Then for second child see 3 rd from 5th, as its younger sibling of 1 st one.. and likewise for other children.. If there is rahu/ketu placed in 7th house in d7, if we are supposed to count forward from lagna, we will count backward and vice versa.. Sometimes even if Ketu is in the 7 th house we may count normally, provided it is with a strong Ju or Sa (conservative planet).. While counting houses if we encounter strong rahu/ketu, it can show end there, and native will not have next child thereafter, unless planet which is supposed to give give second child is very strong.. But this is tough to predict as this rule doesn’t work always..
If one has twins then astrological we consider the 1st as the 1st child and the 2nd as the 2nd child although the birth time difference is small between the two.. 2) Some rules to determine sex of child: Again see where is the lord of 5 th house is placed, and analyse that house to determine sex of children..
Here are some rules to determine sex of children: 1) Gender of planets :
Sun, mars, jup, rahu- male
Moon, venus, ketu- female
Sat, mer – mer – eunuch eunuch
So as sat and mer don’t have gender preferences, if sat and mercury with male planet they will show male child.. if with female planet they will show female child.. 2) Odd signs show male child, and even signs show female child..
But Gemini, cancer, aquarius and pisces are exceptions.. Gemini and aquarius show female child and cancer and pisces if involved will show male child. 3) If house involved consists exalted planet it will show male child, if debilitated planet female child.. 4) If planet placed in concerned house is in parivartana with some other planet, it will change the sex of the child
So one needs to analyse above 3points and see significations of male is dominating or female is dominating.. that will show the gender of the child.. and after seeing all this, we check parivartana, if exchange is involved, it will change the gender..
There is one dictum that, Ju with Ve would usually indicate female but if this happens in Pi, Ve would be exalted and represent a male. If Ju was with Mo one would predict a female child but if this happens in Taurus, Mo being exalted would represent a male. If sign representing child has 2lords, (i.e. scorpio and aquarius), one has to see placement of lord which is stronger between two.. The following three principles usually break the tie in determining the stronger of two planets. These principles have to applied is this sequence in order to determine the stronger of the two. a. The one with more planets b. The planet aspected by Ju, Me or dispositor of that house by Rasi drishti c. Whoever is exalted 3) To see overall happiness from children: In males chart 5th house of d7 shows overall happiness from children.. To see overall happiness houses are counted forward always.. see the strength of 5 th lord for overall happiness from children..
In females chart it’s the 9th house Other thing for overall happiness with children look at the 5th lord in Rasi (D1) and see how strongly it is placed in Saptamsa(D7). Here for both male and female only 5th house lord of rashi chart to be seen.. Placement of jupiter (karaka of children) in d7 is also seen.. We can also check strength of lagna lord in d7 to analyse marital happiness.. But if lord of overall happiness is in marankaraka sthana, we can straight forward say that person is not happy from the children.. no need to analyse strength in this case.. Every planet has marankaraka sthana.. so if planet is in these houses, person will be very unhappy with regard to matters related to its ownership.. Here are marankaraka houses for different planets: Moon- 8th Sun-12th Mars-mercury- 7th Jup- 3rd Venus- 6th Saturn- 1st
Rahu- 9th If overall happiness from children is weak, one can do remedy to strengthen the lord that is supposed to give overall happiness.. 4) Harmony with each child: To see harmony with 1 st child, one has to compare relationship between lagna lord and planet representing 5 th child in d7, and see natural friendship of them..
We also need to see placement of lagna lord and 5 th lord (can be from fwd or bckwd) to analyse relationship.
If that two planets are placed in shadashtaka, and are natural enemies too relationship will be worst..
If both planets in dwir-dwaadasa (2-12 from each other), but are natural friends, there may be some problems in relationship, but it can be manageable..
If planets placed from quadrant, both child and parent require some effort to maintain good relationship..
If planets are placed in trines from each other, its like blessings, both parent and child have good understanding with each other.. 5) No Children: If all 3planets, Saturn, mercury and venus in trines in saptamsa give no children.. If one or two of them are in the trine then they give us some difficulty but we cannot rule out.. In Saptamsa (D7) 5th lord occupying the 6th house or 6 th lord in 5th house signify some kind of a problem. The person may not have children or there may be delay with children.. If planet representing 1st children is in marankaraka sthana and afflicted, there is high possibility of having no children..
6) Children from second wife:
If the person marries for a second time, then the first child from that marriage will be seen from the 12th house because it is the 11th house of gains from the 2nd house. 2nd house shows the 2nd marriage because it’s the 8th house (of breaks) from 7th house (of first marriage). As usual if the second house is an odd sign, count 11 houses forward and if the 2 nd house is an even sign, then count 11 houses backward.. If 1 st wife is alive and stays with the native and the native has an affair, then we see 2nd relationship from the 6th house (enemy) from 7 th i.e. 12th house.. If the husband has children from that affair then we see 1 st child from 11th from 12th..
7) Involvement of parent in abortion: If in d7 lagna lord is in maraka-sthana from childs lagna (in d7), and rahu influences in this combination then father is involved in the termination of the pregnancy.. If 7 th lord in d7 is in marankaraka sthana from childs lagna, then persons wife is involved in the abortion..
