Modul pembelajaran Fisika berbasis multi representasi pada materiUsaha dan Energi disusun sebagai bahan ajar mandiri bagi peserta didik kelas X SMA. Modul pembelajaran ini terdiri dari tiga kegiatan belajar yang membahas tentang materi usaha dan materi energi. Keberhasilan belajar dengan menggunakan modul pembelajaran Fisika berbasis multi representasi representasi ini dapat dibantu oleh guru yang berperan sebagai inisiator dan fasilitator. Hal-hal yang perlu dilakukan oleh guru adalah: 1. 1. Definisi Usaha
Kata “usaha” atau “kerja” memiliki berbagai arti dalam percakapan sehari-hari. Dalam fisika, usaha memiliki arti tersendiri. Usaha merupakan transfer energi melalui gaya. Secara matematis,usaha atau dalam bahasa Inggris “ work ” didefinisikan sebagai hasil kali komponen gaya searah perpindahan ( F ) dengan ∆ x). besar perpindahannya perpindahannya ( ∆

Orang yang mendorong dinding tembok dikatakan tidak melakukan usaha atau kerja meskipun orang tersebut mengeluarkan mengeluarkan gaya tekan yang sangat besar, karena tidak terdapat perpindahan kedudukan dari tembok. Dapat dikatakan bahwa usaha akan memiliki nilai ketika terjadi perpindahan perpindahan dengan jarak x tertentu. Atau dengan kata lain, Jjka suatu gaya F menyebabkan perpindahan sejauh Δ x, maka gaya F melakukan melakukan usaha sebesar W . Perhatikan ilustrasi berikut ini!
