Migra Migratio tion n to SBTS SBTS and and Commis Commissio sionin ning g SBTS SBTS
Migra Migratio tion n and and commis commissio sionin ning g in the contex contextt of SBTS SBTS
1 Migration and commissioning in the context of SBTS Definitions of migration to SBTS and commissioning an SBTS site. General information about SCF and SBTS Profile. Migration
a sequence of tasks including software upgrade and commissioning to convert an existing base transceiver station (BTS) into a Single RAN base station (SBTS)
Commissioning
a sequence of tasks (including parameter and software configuration, tests and reporting) to ensure that the standalone equipment in question has been properly installed and configured, has no faulty modules and is ready for integration. Commissioning is performed on new equipment or as a final migration phase.
SBTS Profile
an SBTS profile identifies a site hardware and cell configuration and must be selected during the planning phase. The physical SBTS configuration (used hardware modules and cabling) must match with the selected SBTS profile. The correct SBTS profile is selected by considering the current site needs (for example number of RATs, number of RFMs) and future expansion plans. Nokia offers the possibility to modify a profile and create so called subconfiguration (e.g. reduce the number of RATs). If you want to modify a profile and create a sub-configuration, remember about modifying an SCF file. To view all supported SBTS Profiles, see Creating SBTS Configurations (DN09210836) (DN09210836) and SBTS Supported Configurations (DN09210918). (DN09210918) . The general rules for creating sub-configurations from a root-configurations are present in Creating SBTS Configurations (DN09210836) .
SCF (site configuration file)
w g
Issue: 01C
a file in the XML format, which contains site characteristics, for example site ID, IP addresses, and radio network parameters related to each RAT. A base SBTS SCF is provided with SRAN software delivery and can be used as a template to create a new SCF file.
NOTICE : Only properly trained and authorized personnel should perform installation, commissioning, or maintenance operations on any Nokia base transceiver station (BTS). Note: The included screenshots are representations and should only be considered as examples. The current release of the SRAN software might differ slightly from the screenshots depicted. SBTS Element Manager can also display different views depending on selected SBTS configuration.

Note: This document describes local and remote migration to an SBTS and commissioning an SBTS site using BTS Site Manager and and SBTS Element Manager . Migration and commissioning can be also performed using NetAct. 1.2 About SBTS Element Manager An overview of the SBTS Element Manager functionality and software requirements for its usage. Nokia SBTS Element Manager (SBTS Web UI) is a web based application for maintaining and commissioning an SBTS. You can connect to the BTS site locally or remotely. Local connection means direct connection from a PC with a supported web browser to the BTS via LMP port using the Gigabit Ethernet cable with a RJ-45 connector. SBTS Element Manager is is available in the web browser. The default login is: Nemuadmin Nemuadmin and the default password is nemuuser . For more information on SBTS Element Manager , see the SR000713: SBTS Web UI feature feature description. Remote connection can be established for the commissioned sites using management plane through the data communication network (DCN). Supported browsers: • • •
10
Chrome, latest available version, 32 bit version is suggested, for both the Windows and Linux operating systems. Internet Explorer 11, 11, latest available version, with latest updates installed, for the Windows operating system. SR001118: SBTS Configuration File Conversion from WCDMA or LTE
Use a script if hardware configuration (used hardware modules, cabling between them and antenna types) in an existing LTE (LN7.0 or FL15A) or WCDMA (WN9.1 or WBTS16) BTS matches the hardware configuration for the target SBTS profile. Only the following conversion paths are supported: WCDMA SCF=> SBTS SCF (SBTS working in WCDMA dedicated mode) and LTE SCF => SBTS SCF (SBTS working in LTE dedicated mode). The instruction how to use the scripts are available in NOLS > Release Documentation > SBTS16.2_1.0_1RAT_Conversion_tool_instructions.

Location of the SBTS Root CA subject and fingerprint
To check the NetAct root CA certificate and fingerprint run the following commands under the directory /var/opt/oss/global/certs/rootCA. Command: root@clab1503node04 /var/opt/oss/global/certs/rootCA]# openssl x509 -in NetAct_rootCert.pem -noout -subject

Output: SHA1 Fingerprint=34:19:09:bf:30:d2:ed:0b:89:68:5e:71:0d:47:39:b9:cb:9a:ff: 32
If the subject name and fingerprint fields match for both certificates, then SBTS and NetAct have the same trust anchor and therefore no further certificates need to be installed. This means that TLS can be enabled for NE3S. If the root CA certificate fingerprints do not match, then the root CA certificate for NetAct needs to be installed onto SBTS as an additional CA. This is needed for TLS certificate handshake to be successful between SBTS and NetAct since they use a different certificate authority. In order to install the root CA certificate download the NetAct Root CA certificate from NetAct under /var/opt/oss/global/certs/rootCA onto the local workstation, and use the Browse Browse button under the Additional CA certificates certificates to select the downloaded NetAct Root CA certificate, and click the Save Save button.
