Let’s Bake Cookies!
Topic: The verbs and vocabulary used
Level:
Beginner/Elementary
when baking cookies.
Lesson Duration: 30 minutes
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to identify kitchen preparation tools in
English.
Summary of Tasks/Actions: 1. Teacher will introduce students to baking utensils by using flash cards with the necessary vocabulary. (5 minutes) 2. Next the teacher will present the verbs used within the kitchen using a whiteboard. Students will repeat the vocabulary back to the teacher. (5 minutes) 3. In the next step, students will take turns reading aloud from a provided recipe. (2 minutes) 4. Using flashcards, the teacher will instruct students on how to bake cookies using the previously taught vocabulary with student discussion. (10-13 minutes) 5. To end the lesson, students will divide into pairs. Each pair will receive a stack of flashcards. Each flashcard will illustrate a step of the recipe. Partners will take turns putting the flashcardss in order from start to finish.(5 minutes)
