Mon inscriptions from Northeastern Thailand (Isan)
Mon inscriptions that has been found in Northeastern Thailand are in two form sîmâ stone and baked clay from 6 – 8 centuries A.D. Most of them are damaged. Some sîmâ stones are illustrated with jâtaka. Some illustrations and fine carvings of the sculptures are very similar to the boundary stone pillars of Kalayani-sîmâ ordinatioin hall at Thaton in Burma.
