Boards in RSP User Frame
RSP board is a remote user processing board, implementing the variable convergence ratio 1:1 to 1:4 to meet different requirements and settings. The convergence ratio is equal to TS on E1s:No. of subscribers. 1:1 240:192 RSPs:8E1s 1:2 120:192 RSPs:4E1s 1:4 60:192 RSPs:2E1s

Two RSP boards work in load sharing mode, in which when one of them is not configured or faulty, the other one can control the whole frame.

Boards in RSP User Frame Every RSP provides the following functions: 1. Four E1 interfaces: they are used as 2M link on HGRP interface and connected with GV5; 2. Multiple asynchronous serial ports: they are used to connect with monitoring unit.

RSP can be set to two working modes: 1) E1 working mode With E1 working mode, RSP is connected with GV5 unit via E1 interface by using HGRP protocol. One RSP board has up to four E1s to be connected to upper level, thus each RSP unit can provide up to eight E1 ports.

RSP can be set to two working modes: 2) HW working mode With HW working mode, RSP unit is connected with PV8 unit through differential HW interface, PV8 unit controls and scans subscriber line board through the HDLC on differential HW.

RSP has 3 working status: Note:Only after the board is reset can the changed switch be enabled. 1) The software is upgraded on line in the remote mode when the first bit is set as ON and the second, third and fourth as OFF; 2) The RSP frame works normally,1, 2, 3 and 4 bits are set as OFF.

3) The RSP frame works in the local maintenance status when the fourth bit is set as ON and the first, second and third bits are set as OFF; The local maintenance function is used to locate the error and the E1 link is required to form the loop-back at that time. E1 indicator light on the corresponding board will be disabled as well.

PWX board As the power supply board, the PWX board powers all boards in the frame. In the standard configuration, two PWX boards work in load sharing mode. The frame can also be configured with one board according to special requirements.

TSS board The test subscriber system board TSS tests various states and indexes of the subscriber board. Two frames can share the same board while the testing buses of both frames are interconnected via the distribution wires.

ASL board As one of the subscriber boards, the analog subscriber line board, ASL, provides the analog subscriber ports and its slot may also be occupied by other subscriber boards, e.g. DSL, SRX, HSL etc.. This board is optional and the number of each subscriber board shall be determined by the required number of the subscriber ports.
