Rahu / Ketu as Planet a) As a planet R/K will give result of that planet who is conjoined with R/K. b) As a planet R/K will give result of that planet who is aspecting R/K. c) As a planet R/K will give result of its Nakshatra Lord (in whose Nakshatra R/K happens to be placed in the horoscope) d) As a planet R/K will give result of its Dispositor.
Rahu / Ketu as Star Lord a) If any planet is in the star of Rahu or Ketu, that planet will signify the matters of the house occupied by Rahu or Ketu (Posited); b) If any planet is in the star of Rahu or Ketu, that planet will indicate the matters of the house owned and occupied by the Star lord of Rahu or Ketu; and c) If any planet is in the star of Rahu or Ketu, that planet will denote the matters of the house occupied and owned by the owner of the sign occupied by Rahu or Ketu (Dispositor).
Rahu / Ketu as Significator Rahu/Ketu is stronger than any planet. So if R/K represents any significator planet, R/K should be given first preference as a significator in place of that significator planet.

Significator in KP Astrology In Stellar Astrology (Nakshatra Paddhati Jyotish) a planet is supposed to give its results as per (a) Stellar Status and (b) Positional Status. Stellar Status: Every planet by default has stellar status and offers results as per the significations of its Star Lord. For example, Venus is in Mars Nakshatra. As per stellar status, Venus will offer result of those houses of which Mars is significator. Positional Status: A planet is said to have Positional Status when (a) the planet happens to be in its own Nakshatra e.g Mars is in Mrigshira (Mars ruled) Nakshatra and (b) no planets happen to be in the Nakshatra of that planet e.g. Mars will have Positional Status when no planet happens to be in the Nakshatra of Mars (Mrigshira, Chitra or Dhanishtha). Significator: Significator is that who signifies. A planet is said to be significator of particular house when it has capability of offering result of that house. As thus, we may say that a planet becomes Significator of a house due to its Stellar Status and / or Positional Status. A planet may be significator of high, medium or low ord. Sequence (in order of strength) of Significator (1) Planet in Ocupant’s Star. (2) Occupant (if it has Positional Status i.e No Planet in the
Occupant’s Star) (3) Planet in House Lord’s Nakshatra provided house is vacant. (4) House Lord (if House Lord has Positional Status i.e. No planet in the Nakshatra of House Lord) and house is vacant. (5) Planet in Conjunction with the Significator Planet. (6) Planet aspecting the Significator Planet or respective house.
Four Step Theory Four Step Theory - B.K. Kumar In Four Step Theory, 1st Step is about Planet and its signification. 2nd step is about Star Lord of planet and its signification. 3rd step is about Sub Lord of planet and its result signifying capability and 4th step is about Star Lord of planet’s sub lord, which is taken as end result indicator. In short this theory advocates that a Planet gives result on the strength of itself, its star lord, sub lord and star lord of sub lord. This theory differs from Krishnamurti Paddhati (System) at one point. In KP sub lord is taken as end result indicator while in this theory Star Lord of sub lord is taken as end result indicator. First Step Rule 1: (a) A planet becomes strong significator of that house where it is placed in house, if there are no other planets in the star of that planet. That planet will remain strong planet even if there are other planets in that house. (b) In above case, that planet becomes strong significator of its owned house/s, provided there are no other planets in that house. Otherwise, it will be weak or secondary significator of that house. (c) If there are other planets in the stars of a planet, it becomes weak or secondary significator of both the house it resides in and of the houses it owns. (d) A planet becomes strong significator of that house where it is placed in house, if that planet is in its own star. That planet will remain strong planet even if there are other planets in that house. (e) In above case, that planet becomes strong significator of its owned house/s, provided there are no other planets in that house. Otherwise, it will be weak or secondary significator of that house. Second Step Rule 2: A planet gives the results indicated by its star lord. So the house occupied by this star lord is strongly signified, even if there are other planets in that house. That planet will become strong significator of house owned if the houses are vacant. Otherwise, it
will be weak or secondary significator of that house. Third Step Rule 3: Planet’s Sub Lord has capacity to give results. This Sub Lord becomes strong significator or secondary significator of house as per the rule-1. Fourth Step Rule 4: Star Lord of Sub acts as indicator and decider of end result of particular event. Rule 5: Krishnamurthy has given importance to cusp of the house. So planet near to cusp (within orb of 030‐20') affect the strong signification of that cusp even if planet is having star in it, it will offer the cusp result strongly. Rule 6: While considering conjunction or aspect, consider this with an orb of 030‐20'. Aspect of planet is considered only on cusp with 030‐20' orb and not on house. A planet signifies other planet if it is in conjunction with it. If a planet is strong, the conjuncted planet also becomes strong otherwise it is week. If a planet is on the cusp then it becomes a strong significator of that cusp. Rule 7: When Rahu / Ketu is the star lord of a planet / sub, then it gives results of conjunction / aspect / star lord / sign lord in ascending order. Rahu or Ketu are strong as star Lords. As planet, Rahu or Ketu are strong in a house if no one is tenanting in their star. Else, they are weak. Rahu and Ketu represent Rashi Lord, star lord and Planets in Conjunction, and Planets aspecting them. If Rahu or Ketu are strong then the represented planets are also strong. Rule 8: The event will materialize only when Dasha, Bhukti and Antara jointly strongly signify main and supporting houses. Rule 9: If planet is totally negating the relative event's houses on step 3 – 4
then the Dasha will not fructify the matter. If planet is the Cuspal sub lord then the event will never happen. Rule 10: For transit, only two steps are considered. Sub Lord or Sub’s Star Lord is not considered. For timing the event, check the transit of the Star Lord, Bhukti Lord, Antara Lord and also Sun, Moon and Ascendant Tips-1: For chart analysis, single out the planets who are in their own star. Also find out planets in whose star there is no other planet. Find out the significator of all planets through four step theory including conjunction, special signification through Rahu and Ketu and also planets which are on the cusp. Tips-2: Use strong significator, Leave weak significator. Weak Significators are not used even if they are linked to the houses under consideration. Tips-3: If the sub Lord of primary house is in the star that is not retrograde and signifies either primary house or supporting houses then than the answer is positive. Horary Astrology - B.K. Kumar
Horary Astrology is an important aid to Astrology. It is known as Prashna Jyotish or Prashna Shashtra. Horary Astrology deals with the aspects of question (prashna) asked by a querent. At the time of query an astrological chart is prepared and studied to know the hidden aspects related to the query. Such prepared astrological chart is called as Horary Chart. Horary Chart is different from Natal Chart. Natal Chart is representation of planetary and Cuspal position at the time of birth. So, it covers every aspect of human life. While Horary Chart is simulation of planetary and Cuspal position at the time of query put up by the querent. Apparently, Horary Chart has its limitation to the specific question only.
Horary Astrology functions on the philosophy of communion of Microcosm and Macrocosm. Microcosm is within us and is known as Antahkaran while Macrocosm is whole cosmos or Brahmanda. Microcosm belongs to Macrocosm. This is why, It is believed that Yad pinde tud barahmande i.e. whatever are in Cosmos or macrocosm, same things are within us or microcosm and secondly, whatever happens on macrocosm level that influences microcosm. Perceptibly, there is communion between Microcosm and Macrocosm. That is there is sharing of thoughts between Antahkaran and Brahma. On communion, querent receives thoughts and he shows his eagerness to know about the future of his query. When a thought came to him, it may be understood as the conception of the query and when he utters it before astrologer, that moment is taken as birth time of the query. If we have to translate these things astrologically, there would be need of casting an astrological chart on the basis of query time and astrologer’s location. And as such, prepared chart will reveal the will of cosmic mind with agreement to the destiny of the querent simulated in true natal chart. Here, it is to mention that this moment is nothing but one of the many lying in the time span given by the destiny. As a moment when we opt or choose any karma to perform by using freewill immediately it gets recorded in destiny and planetary position of that very moment in the astrological chart indicates the future and fructification of that action. Dr. Jung says whatever is born or done at this moment has the qualities of this moment. Horary Astrology renders its best result to predict even small event related to the life of querent while on the basis of natal chart, it is a bit confusing. Sometimes native cannot provide accurate birth data. In that case horary chart is quite helpful. In horary chart, accuracy of time does not confuse astrologer as is felt in the case of natal chart, prepared on reported birth time. Horary chart is helpful for an astrologer also. When same kind of results are seen from both horary and natal charts, it means definitely that kind of result will take place in future. Lak Kitab Predictive Principles Specific Predictive Principles in Lal Kitab Astrology The specific principles of predictive astrology as per Lal Kitab are summed up as follows: The Sun as lord of the 5th, the Mercury as lord of the 3rd and 6th, the Jupiter as lord of the 9th and the Saturn as lord of the 10th are directly or indirectly in some form or the other are the Karakas of the father and his property. But the Jupiter and the Sun, Jupiter and
Mercury or Jupiter and Saturn occupying any house jointly carry no relevance to the knowledge about father or father’s property at all. Even Mercury and Sun, Mercury and Saturn or Sun and Saturn also sitting together behave in the same manner. If two or more inimical planets are occupying a single house, they will not behave as enemies. But it does not mean that they do not affect the influences of each other and show their own results of being in that house independently i.e. their conjunction does not affect their individual results. Friendly planets together occupying a house become extremely friendly and help each other in producing good and auspicious results. The 7th house is regarded as the Pucca Ghar (permanent house) of Mercury. If Mercury is placed in the 7th house of a horoscope, even the powerful planets like Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn occupying a Kendra, 2nd or 11th house can not affect the health of the native adversely. If a female planet is placed in any house along with Saturn and both are being expected by any other planet, then the expecting planet will become afflicted and affect adversely the persons and relatives of such expecting planet as Karakas. In general, all planets in their Pucca Ghar, own house or exalted house give good results. A planet in inimical house or in a house of debilitation gives bad results. If a planet is not placed in his Pucca Ghar and the same is occupied by a planet inimical to such planet, then that planet will destroy the good results of the house in which he stands placed. While examining a horoscope, the 1st, 7th, 8th and 11th houses must be examined together as they are mutually interested. The planets in the ascendant is treated as a ruler and the one in the 7th acts as his minister. The planet in the 8th is the eye of that ruler, whereas the planet in the 11th house is the ruler's foot. More planets in the 7th house than the 1st house shows that the ruler does not have required control over his minister. If the planets in the 11th house are inimical to the planets in the first house, then they will not obey the command of the ruler i.e., the results of the 11th house will be adversely affected. The planets of the 8th house (eyes) guide the planets of the 7th house (minister) and control their actions and effects. If the planets of the 1st and 8th houses are friendly, then the planet in the 7th house can not play any mischief. Mars in the 7th is considered to be highly conducive for gaining large property. But if mercury is in the Lagna, it will destroy the properties. It will be destroyed because of the foolishness of the native, because here the Mercury being in the first house is Karaka of the native. At the same time if the Mercury is in the 8th house, it will again destroy the properties, but here the reasons for destination will be unknown and invisible, because the active elements of the 8th house are always secretive and mysterious in
nature over which the native has no control. Similarly, if the planets of the 1st and 11th houses destination are friendly, they will control the planets of the 7th house. If they are inimical, the results would be bad. The planets of the 1st house aspect the planets of the 7th house. If they are mutually inimical, then the bad results accrue because of the foolishness or unworthiness of the native. The planets of the 8th house aspect the planets of the 2nd house and thereby affect their results. 2nd, 6th, 8th, 12th and 11th houses must also be examined simultaneously as follows : (a) The planets of the 8th house aspect the 2nd house and thereby affect the results of the 2nd house. The effects of the aspects of the planets of the 8th house over the 2nd house are affected by the planets of the 11th house - favourably if friendly and unfavourably if inimical. (b) The planets of the 2nd house aspect the 6th house and affects its results. The planets of the 6th and 8th houses have secret relations with each other, because of which they also affect the planets of the 2nd house (+++). (c) The 12th house also affects the 2nd house (+++). If there are evil planets in the 6th and 8th houses, (because of their secret/implied conjunction) their evil power increases 10 times. (d) If the planets in the 12th and 8th houses are inimical, the native should not visit temples and other places of worship. The 3rd, 11th, 5th, 9th and 10th houses must also be examined simultaneously as follows : (a) If there is any planet in the 3rd house, it will start showing effects after the birth of the native's younger brother. If the 9th and 5th houses are occupied by Saturn Rahu or Ketu then the unfavourable changes start coming up in the native's life just after the birth of the child. (b) If there are good planets in the 9th house and there is no planet in the 2nd house, the native remains deprived of all the benefits. (c) If there is no planet in the 4th house, or it is occupied by Rahu, Ketu or Saturn, then the good results of the 10th house will not be received by the native. If 10th and 2nd houses are empty, the good results of the 4th house will go waste. (d) If the 3rd and 9th houses are bad, the 5th will also prove bad. (e) If the 9th is occupied by Sun or Moon, the 5th house will give good results. (f) If the 9th is occupied by Sun or Moon, then Rahu or Ketu in the 5th will neither affect the issues of the native or the native himself
adversely. (g) If Rahu or Ketu be placed in the 5th and there are inimical planets in the 8th then strokes of misfortune will hit the native through the 11th house. The relatives indicated by the planets of the 5th and 8th houses will also be affected. In this situation the earnings of the native will also be affected very adversely, if the 2nd house is empty. Nothing will be able to save the native. Now the planets of the 10th and 5th will also turn to be malefic whatever be their natural character.
