Heneral Luna: Full of Reactions “Heneral Artikulo Uno.” This quotation really caught up my attention since the very start of the Heneral Luna movie and it became my most favourite part. It knocked my senses to wander about the movie. So, I got curious about why General Antonio Luna was named as Heneral Artikulo Uno. Later on, I learned that it was all about the article which states that whoever defies the General, he will be killed without due process of law through trials. Also, I observed that that trash talks were really expressed by numerous soldiers during that time. In the movie, some of the businessmen’s attitude was shown such as having allegiance with the colonizers just for the sake of power. I think that this scenario is similar to those people now who sell drugs to gain money in just one click and seek for power in a dirty way. On the other hand, I got inspired by the strong dedication and determination of Garcia who became the “Deadshot” in the movie because of a certain scene in which he was tasked to threaten a high official American. Garcia’s braveness showed up as he volunteered to the command of Heneral Luna. Like Garcia, we need to be brave enough to live for our loved ones, family and the nation in general. What marked in my mind the most was when Heneral Luna said that the worst enemies weren’t the American colonizers, but ourselves alone. I strongly agree with him because it’s true that a man’s worst enemy is himself. It’s because of his desire to power which is a big contrast to nationalism and patriotism. The movie was great. It was intensely full of actions but the Director put up some humour which made the movie more attractive to the viewers. As I have observed, different emotions from the audience were expressed because of their serious intention to watch the movie. As a whole, Henearl Luna movie was really significant in our generation because it woke us up to the reality. As young individuals, we must set aside our own self-interests and we need to control our desires. We must start practicing good deeds in our own ways and patriotism will take place eventually. We need to discipline ourselves because we are the hope of our country. We must build strong
unity so that we will be able to protect what’s ours against the colonizers in the near future. Heneral Luna’s tactics and strategies in the battlefield as well as his way of his discipline must be considered. But, just make sure that this sort of strictness won’t lead to dictatorship.

Heneral Luna “Bayan o sarili, negosyo o kalayaan.” Lot of people died because of fighting against the American colonizers. Lot of people sacrificed their lives for the sake of their country. But some of people were not willing to sacrifice their lives because they didn’t want to die. They only thought about their sake. Some people chose their lives than their country. This is my favourite part because we’ve seen the people who sacrificed for the sake of their country. They chose their country than themselves. They were willing to fight the American colonizers. They didn’t think of their own lives because for them, their country was better than their lives. Watching Heneral Luna is the best thing I have done in my life but I feel sad when Heneral Luna died. Why one of his soldiers killed him? This is the biggest mistake done by Heneral Luna’s soldiers. Heneral Luna was brave, intelligent, and excellent and he did everything for the sake of his country. I don’t understand why his soldiers killed him where in fact they were all Filipinos. The impact of being elfish is that no one can love you because you only think of your own self. You are not willing to sacrifice yourself for the sake of the country. For you, self is better than yourself. “Hindi makikita o makakamit ang kalayaan sa pag-aaruga ng pamilya.” This was said by Heneral Luna in the movie. I believe that what the General wanted to emphasize was that there’s really a point in our life that we need to turn back from our families in order to save our country. Just in case it happens in our generation, we need to do the best of our abilities for the sake our country.

Heneral Luna “Filipino for Filipino” in Heneral Luna’s movie was emphasized. Well, as I’ve watched the movie, I didn’t imagine why a Filipino killed his fellow Filipino. Why Filipino soldiers killed Heneral Luna? This is my favourite because although Heneral Luna died, at least he did everything for his country because for him, he never wanted the Americans to colonize our country. I was shocked and I got angry when Filipinos killed Heneral Luna. I really don’t get the point of doing it. It is not good. It is the biggest mistake that Luna’s soldiers did. I think that the big barrier that happened to defeat the colonizers was that Filipinos before didn’t have a strong collaboration with each other. They didn’t trust each one’s capability because they only think of their skills in leading the army. The quarrel between the Filipinos made a way for the Americans to settle their plans accordingly. So, in the end, our country was colonized by the colonizers. The movie helps us to realize that we should work together against the other country who wants to get our territory and the people who want to hurt us. Instead of killing our fellow Filipino citizens, we should think that if we will work together, we can destroy our enemies. The movie serves as our alarm clock to treat our fellow Filipinos right. We must not underestimate the capacity of someone who is lower than us because everyone can be a saviour of his own country if he wants to. We need to become good persons to build good relationship among others.
