Dhikr, remembering Allah, is something important that every Muslim should do regularly. Allah told us in the Qur’an:
“So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.” (Surah al-Baqarah 2:152) A man came to the Messenger of Allah asking his advice and he told him “Always keep your tongue wet with the remembrance of Allah.”1 This means that remembering Allah is something that you should try to do a lot. There are many good things that the Messenger of Allah told us that we can say to remember Allah.
Al-hamdu lillaah .”2 The Messenger of Allah also taught us that there are “Two words which are light on the tongue and heavy in the Balance, and beloved to the Most Merciful:
Do you know how to say these two phrases? Practice saying them. Are they easy to say? Just imagine that by saying these two phrases they can help you on the Day of Judgement when Allah will look at your good and bad deeds. The Messenger of Allah told us something amazing about a similar phrase, when he informed us that: “Whoever says:
Subhaanallaah il-‘Azheem wa bihamdih
a palm tree is planted for him in Paradise.” 4 _________ Try to memorise these phrases and others too. It is good to remember Allah often!
