Function Description GSM configuration parameter browse: The GSM configuration parameters can be browsed by MO type or by the topology structure (BSC-BTS-GCELL-GTRX). GSM configuration parameter check: The GSM configuration parameters are compared with those in the baseline configuration template of OMStar V500R008. The OMStar generates an Excel report that provides the live network parameters whose values are different from the baseline values. GSM configuration parameter comparison: Comparison can be made between any two BSC MML configuration script files of different versions or different export time. The comparison results are recorded in an Excel report.
Function Principle After being imported, configuration parameters can be browsed by MO type or by the topology structure. The parameter check function can compare the live network parameters with the baseline template and then provide a report. The configuration parameter check template can be customized. The parameter comparison function compares the differences between two configuration files and provides a comparison report.

Function Principle When counters are browsed by hour, counter results of each object are aggregated by hour. When counters are browsed by day, counter results are aggregated by day. When the results of one counter for one object in two time segments are compared, the OMStar compares the results of the first day in the earlier time segment with that of the first day in the later time segment by default, and the results from 00:00 through 23:00 within the two days are compared hourly by default.

The neighboring GSM cell analysis function of OMStar V500R008 summarizes and analyzes the MRs and events reported by UEs with the combination of configuration data and engineering parameters and checks missing neighboring cells, redundant neighboring cells, and the priorities that need to be adjusted in terms of a test cell. By directly displaying information, the OMStar helps you resolve network quality problems due to redundant or missing neighboring cells or incorrect priorities of neighboring cells. Algorithm Principle 1. The OMStar calculates the overall score and then ranks the defined and undefined neighboring GSM cells. 2. Determining neighboring cell missing configuration: If the rank of the undefined neighboring GSM cell is less than or equal to the Neighboring Cell Rank No.1 value cell is regarded as a missing neighboring cell. 3. Determining neighboring cell redundant configuration: If the number of handover requests of a defined neighboring GSM cell is less than or equal to the HO Request Number Threshold value or the relative percentage is less than or equal to the relative percentage threshold value, and the number of neighboring cells is greater than the Constraint of Neighboring Cell Table Length value, the cell is regarded as a redundant neighboring cell.

OMStar V500R008 provides the neighboring GSM cell check function, in which all neighboring cell information, unidirectional neighboring cells, bidirectional neighboring cells, cells with too few or too many neighboring cells, over distant neighboring cells, and consistency of external neighboring cell parameters are checked. After engineering parameter data is imported, the OMStar can display neighboring GSM, UMTS, and LTE cell information on the map. Based on the neighboring cell check results, neighboring cells can be edited on the map. Algorithm Principle • The OMStar queries the lists of neighboring GSM, UMTS, and LTE cells of a source cell based on the NE configuration file (MML configuration script) to determine unidirectional and bidirectional neighboring cells. • The OMStar counts the number of neighboring cells and compares the number with the threshold set on the OMStar GUI to determine cells with too many or too few neighboring cells. • If engineering parameter data is imported, the OMStar calculates the distance between the source cell and the neighboring cells and compares the calculated values with the threshold set on the OMStar GUI to determine over distant neighboring cells. • The OMStar compares the parameter value configured in the external neighboring of the source cell and the parameter value in the homing BSC to check consistency of an external neighboring cell parameter.

GSM Traffic Forecast
Function Description Based on configuration data and traffic statistics (or PRS analysis results), the OMStar supports three traffic forecast scenarios (basic traffic forecast, traffic forecast for the operator's subscriber development plan, and refarming traffic forecast) at four levels (BSC, BTS, cell, and NE group). The OMStar also forecasts dual-mode MS traffic volume. The OMStar displays forecast results and allows users to export them as an Excel report. Algorithm Principle For the GSM network, the OMStar supports three traffic forecast scenarios (basic traffic forecast, traffic forecast for the operator's subscriber development plan, and refarming traffic forecast) at four levels (BSC, BTS, cell, and NE group). In the refarming scenario, the OMStar also forecasts dual-mode MS traffic volume. The OMStar displays forecast results and allows users to export them as an Excel report.

Precautions for Using OMStar V500R008 Network Security Precautions 1. Written consent is required for all data collected from the customer network equipment for OMStar analysis, data collection operations, and transmission of collected data out of the customer equipment room. 2. Obtain the CHR and PCHR data for analysis with written consent of the customer. 3. Do not transmit raw network data outside the EEA area or to China. 4. Delete data after using it. Do not keep any permanent file that contains plaintext personal data, such as raw files, reports, and database. 5. Mask personal data in plaintext, such as IMSI, ESN, and IMEI, in the report provided for the customer using such methods as anonymity, division, and code.
Property Right Precautions 1. The OMStar is a Huawei internal tool and is not a commercial tool. Do not release it to the customer, introduce or recommend it to the customer, or provide it for the customer to use. 2. The OMStar is Huawei's Intellectual Property. Do not use it for any purposes that may damage Huawei's benefits. Do not provide it for any third-party personnel. 3. This is a Huawei internal document and is for internal use only.

Before using the OMStar, verify that Microsoft Office 2007 has been installed on the local PC. 3. When a report is being generated, do not open Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel. 4. When a report is being generated, do not perform any copy or paste operations.
