7 OMICRON Test Strategy The OMICRON test strategy is described in the OMICRON Protection Test Template (PTT) Transformer Differential documentation. For detailed information, see the PTT Transformer Differential documentation.
8 Converter Structure The converter is divided into two sections: the T60 section and the RIO section. Both sections consist of several function blocks. Note:
Winding1 is fixed to Source1 which gets its current from CT F1. Winding2 is fixed to Source2 which gets its current from CT M1. Winding3 is fixed to Source3 which gets its current from CT F5. Winding1 OC stages are: TOC1, IOC1 and IOC2 for Phase, Neutral and Ground. Winding2 OC stages are: TOC3, IOC3 and IOC4 for Phase, Neutral and Ground. Winding3 OC stages are: TOC5, IOC5 and IOC6 for Phase, Neutral and Ground.
***
TOC2, TOC4, TOC6 for Phase, Neutral and Ground OC are not tested. In case of having different current input configurations, please input your settings in such a way that the fixed windings and sources fit exactly the criteria shown above.
Example: in case of the CT winding1 is connected to M1, its values have to be entered in the block of F1 in our converter and so on.

8.1 T60 Section The Relay Parameter Section includes parameters which can be changed by the user. All relay parameters are included in this section and can be set to the actual relay values.
8.1.1 Relay Parameter Section Settings parameters are included in this block. The parameters are grouped and named as in the EnerVista software. Each parameter in this block can be identified by a Foreign ID, which is identical to the EnerVista parameter description.
Figure 3: Setting the parameters in the Relay Parameter section
8.1.1.1 Additional Information This block has been added for relay specific parameters such as tolerances which cannot be set by the user, because they are constant values. All values set in this block can be found in the chapter "Technical Data" of the relay's documentation. Typically, these blocks do not have to be changed (except the General Information and Transformer Information), as they are already set to the values given in the user manual of the relay.

8.1.1.2 Template Controller (Advanced View) The Template Controller block contains special values needed for some tests, particularly for tests using LinkToXRIO. These are mainly calculated values which cannot be evaluated using LinkToXRIO and therefore have to be stored in this section. Other values needed for customer designed test can be stored in this block, too.
8.1.2 RIOPlus (Advanced View) The RIOPlus block contains the interface providing the link between the XRIO converter and all test modules which have no access to RI O functions. All tests using basic test modules like Ramping or State Sequencer have to be linked to the parameters in the RIOPlus or Template Controller section of the converter. 8.1.2.1 NamePlate The NamePlate block contains all necessary information to identify the protection device to be tested. This block contains the relay vendor, serial number, model, the relay location and a description. 8.1.2.2 Protected Object The Protected Object block contains the nominal voltages, currents and the nominal power for each transformer winding, as well as the winding type. 8.1.2.2
PowerSystemParameters
The number of phases, phase rotation and the nominal frequency are stored in this block. 8.1.2.4 DifferentialProtection1 The DifferentialProtection1 block contains all data necessary for testing the differential protection of the GE Multilin T60 relay. The nominal values and CT settings used by this protection function can be found here. The percent differential and instantaneous differential pickup values as well as the characteristic slopes are linked to this block and converted for further use in the RIO-Differential function. 8.1.2.5.4 W1 OvercurrentProtection This block contains all data necessary for testing the winding 1 overcurrent protection of the T60 relay. The nominal values and CT settings used by this protection function can be found here. All stages of the overcurrent protection function in the relay are modeled as sub blocks of the overcurrent protection block. Each stage sub block stores information about the supervised current, pick-up value, operating time, pickup drop-off ratio and the curve type of the modeled overcurrent stage. The modeled stages include:
50P Phase instantaneous overcurrent
51P Phase time overcurrent
50N Neutral instantaneous overcurrent
51N Neutral time overcurrent
50G Residual instantaneous overcurrent
51G Residual time overcurrent 8.1.2.6 W2 OvercurrentProtection
This block contains all necessary information for testing the T60 relay winding 2 overcurrent protection functions. For f urther information see the W1 OvercurrentProtection chapter. 8.1.2.7 W3 OvercurrentProtection This block contains all necessary information for testing the T60 relay winding 3 overcurrent protection functions. For f urther information see the W1 OvercurrentProtection chapter.

8.2 RIO The RIO section of the converter contains all specialized RIO functions needed to use the more specialized test modules (like Advanced Differential or Overcurrent ) provided by the OMICRON Test Universe software. Warning: Do not change any values in this section. The values have been set using the relay settings of the Relay Parameter section. Note: Do not activate the former test object view in the advanced mode of the XRIO test object. Changing parameters in this view will disable formulas in the RIO section. The GE Multilin T60 converter constructs the differential characteristic curve out of the setting values in the Setting Parameter section which allows using the Advanced Differential test modules for testing the relay's differential element.
8.2.2 Differential This block contains all data necessary for testing the current differential protection function of the GE Multilin T60 relay. All nominal values and CT settings used by this protection function can be found here. The differential pick-up values and the operating characteristic modeled in this section are divided into two sub blocks, Biased Differential Element 1 and Differential Element 2. The Biased Differential Element 1 block contains the Percent Differential Pickup value, the two characteristic slopes and the Percent Differential Break Point value, while the Differential Protection 2 block contains the Instantaneous Differential Pickup value of t he T60 differential protection function. Note: Because of some Test Universe Software restrictions, Diff Configuration and Characteristics testing for Winding3 can be only done w.r.t. Winding1 and can not be done w.r.t. Winding2
8.2.2 W1 Overcurrent This RIO f unction provides all necessary values f or testing the following winding 1 protection functions with the Overcurrent test module:
50P Phase overcurrent 50N Neutral overcurrent 50G Ground overcurrent
A total of three instantaneous or definite time overcurrent stages are shown as a resulting characteristic curve in the W1 Overcurrent function.
8.2.2 W2 Overcurrent This RIO f unction provides all necessary values f or testing the following winding 2 protection functions with the Overcurrent test module:
50P Phase overcurrent 50N Neutral overcurrent 50G Ground overcurrent
A total of three instantaneous or definite time overcurrent stages are shown as a resulting characteristic curve in the W2 Overcurrent function.
8.2.2 W3 Overcurrent This RIO f unction provides all necessary values f or testing the following winding 3 protection functions with the Overcurrent test module:

8.4.1 Special settings format In the GE Multilin T60 XRIO-Converter, some setting values have to be entered in a special format. The VT settings have to be entered as they are shown in the EnerVista setting software (100.00:1 for instance). This convention is set due to a possible import filter and the data format of the EnerVista settings export format (*.csv data files).
8.5 Handling the Infinity Value The "infinity" value is not supported by the GE Multilin T60 relay. Therefore, protection functions can not be disabled by setting their pickup value to "+inf" i n the XRIO-Converter.
