Your observation will be done through a survey and will produce empirical evidences. This observation method will enhance your skills to collect data, like when you doing research
You will be provided with a survey checklist for you to reproduce 10 copies for your 10 respondent teachers. (They are on the last page of this workbook). Make proper request from these teacher who will become your respondents. Tabulate the results in the matrix found below:

The Observed Information Procedure: 1. To get the average, add the scores of the ten teachers and divide by 10. 2. Look at the legend in your own checklist, and determine the description of the average. 3. Study the results.
Questions: 1. Which of the twelve attributes is the highest among the teachers? Almost all of the attributes. 2. Which of the twelve attributes is the lowest among the teachers? None, They’re all very high and high. 3. How many teachers are low in emotional stability? None of the teachers reflected low in emotional stability but four have average score. The rest are very high and high. 4. How many teachers are high in compassion? All of them.
5. What six attributes are found to be strong among the teachers? Almost all of the attributes but the attributes intelligence, objectiveness, pleasantness, refinement, confinement and realiability stood-out. 6. What six attributes are found to be weak among the teachers? None. 7. What interesting observations can you spot from the other data not asked?
My Reflections 1. Why are some teachers reported to have bumped a learner’s head on the wall or made a child swallow scratch paper or pencil filings? What attribute do you think is low for this teacher? We have been hearing reports regarding abuses, maltreatment violations done by teachers. Examples of these are, Bumping students head on the wall, letting a child swallow scratch paper or throwing eraser into students. The reason for these unlawful actions, probably lack of composure or meltdown of teachers. Meltdown in the sense that teachers have already lost their composure and broke into anger. As we all know, teaching endails bigger and deeper responsibility. The mere handling of numbers of students brings pressure. The everyday teaching, thinking on new lessons, concepts and so when students have done something that could somehow irritates teachers, sometimes it could lead into losing anger management resulting to punishing students. Teachers who are doing these stuffs. Lack or have low emotional stability. 2. Why do you think some teachers are better loved by students than others? Teachers who are better loved by students are those who carry themselves higher set of moral standards and values prioritize ethical values and do not make actions that could somehow downgrade their reputations. These are the types of teachers that set moral ascendancy as their platform in teaching. Traditionally, students love their teachers or consider them their favorites when teachers show valiancy. When they are soft spoken, barely show anger and understanding. In contrast, teachers that are hated by students are those who
show the opposite characteristics mentioned. Those who are stereotyped “terror”. 3. If you were to choose, Which personal attributes should all teachers posses? Why?
For me, all the personal attributes being rated in the questionnaire must be possessed by the teachers. The only reason I think is that those attributes are what defines a developed and capable teachers.
My Affirmed Concepts
After reflecting on this episode and recalling my previous subjects, I have realized that there are several concepts in the teaching profession about personal attributes I learned that has been affirmed and confirmed, examples of which are given below: 1. The concept of teaching as an ideal profession has remained strong, but it has been accentuated by the need for meeting the challenges of the times which can be addressed through quality teaching 2. Teaching as an act itself. It involves the common activities in the classroom and the teaching strategies and techniques, but it focuses on the intent to make teaching work the full advantage of the learners by effective interaction of teacher and students in the understanding of a particular subject matter
My Future Application
Using what I have learned in this episode, when I become a teacher, I should…
Be one who is not just intelligent enough to share but someone with such a very good personality to inspire. Teaching is like no other professions. As a future educator, you wear many hats. You will, to name but of a few of the roles teachers assume in
carrying out their duties, be a communicator, a disciplinarian, a conveyor of information, an evaluator, a classroom manager, a decision maker, a role model and a surrogate parent. Eventually, but teaching is more than just sharing, its all about inspiring. Inspiration drives motivation that people get inspired as your actions touch their lives.
