There is no denying the fact that women have historically been the deprived section of the society. n the patriarchal society li!e li!e ours, guided by the orthodo" orthodo" philosophies philosophies of #anu, a woman is seen seen as a mindless suppressed sub$ugated fossil. n rural ndia this mindset is deep rooted and even the most educated of us sometimes harbor ideologies that women have no significant role in the society. %olicies being made and a lot being said about women security and empowerment, statistics show that her very e"istence is in threat& The problem that plagues countries li!e ndia is not the inade'uacy of the laws against women e"ploitation and female infanticide but there low, arduous and often non(implementation. The awareness programmes that are currently operational should be elevated to a whole new level altogether and divergent media should be used so as to ensure catharsis for those who re'uire it by those who should provide it. The plight of the girl child who suffers from direct or indirect violation of their rights is to be sorted out fast. The researchers have relied on doctrinal as well as non doctrinal research methodology in data collection and analysis.
