ABSTRAK
Pada percobaan ini dilakukan untuk menghitung konstanta kecepatan reaksi dan menentukan nilai orde reaksi dari penyabunan etil asetat. Cara yang digunakan untuk menghitung konstanta kecepatan reaksi dan orde reaksi ini adalah, membuat 500 ml larutan 0,05 N etil asetat, 500 ml larutan 0,05 NaOH, dan 500 ml larutan 0,05 N HCl. Lalu masukkan 25 ml larutan 0,05 N etil asetat ke dalam erlenmeyer. Kemudian tambahkan 25 ml larutan 0,05 N NaOH dan mengocoknya selama 30 detik. Setelah Setelah itu hentikan hentikan proses pengocokan pengocokan setelah setelah 30 detik kemudian kemudian menambahkan 25 ml larutan 0,05 N HCl dan mengocoknya kembali selama 30 detik. Lalu tambahkan indikator pp sebanyak 2 tetes kedalam 10 ml campuran. Setelah itu mentitrasi campuran tersebut dengan larutan 0,05 N NaOH. Mengulangi prosedur diatas sebanyak 3 kali dengan dengan variabe variabell waktu yang yang berbeda berbeda yaitu yaitu selama selama 60 detik, 120 120 detik detik dan 180 180 detik. Dalam percobaan kita mendapatkan data antara waktu pengocokan penyabunan dan volume NaOH pada saat dititrasi. Hasil percobaan dengan waktu 30 detik menghasilkan volume titrasi NaOH optimum sebesar 1,7 ml, sedangkan sedangkan hasil percobaan dengan waktu 180 detik menghasilkan volume titrasi NaOH minimum sebesar 1,1 ml. Demikian pula dengan pengaruh waktu pengocokan terhadap etil asetat (CH 3COOC 2 H 5 ) yang bereaksi. Semakin lama waktu pengocokan yang diberikan jumlah (mol) etil asetat yang bereaksi semakin berkurang. Hal ini dapat terjadi karena semakin lama proses pengocokan, semakin banyak permukaan partikel yang bereaksi, artinya semakin lama hampir seluruh partikel terjadi tumbukan. Hal ini bisa terlihat pada saat dilakukan pengocokan selama 180 detik, maka jumlah etil asetat yang bereaksi ber eaksi yaitu sebesar 0,055 mol. Dari data percobaan dapat diplot hubungan antara waktu dan konsentrasi ethyl asetat yang bereaksi sehingga pada data data tersebut akan membentuk grafik dengan x
persamaan y = 0,025x yang dihubungkan dengan persamaan orde dua yaitu a

sehingga nilai konstanta reaksi (k) dapat ditentukan. Selain itu, dalam percobaan antara ethyl asetat dan NaOH merupakan reaksi orde dua dengan melihat persamaan dua reaktan yang berpengaruh dalam proses penyabunan.

BAB I PENDAHULUAN 1.1 Latar Belakang
Laju reaksi atau kecepatan reaksi menyatakan banyaknya reaksi yang berlangsung per satuan waktu. Laju reaksi menyatakan konsentrasi zat terlarut dalam reaksi yang dihasilkan tiap detik reaksi. Pada umumnya kecepatan reaksi akan besar bila konsentrasi pereaksi cukup besar. Dengan berkurangnya konsentrasi pereaksi sebagai akibat reaksi, maka akan berkurang pula kecepatannya. Dalam suatu reaksi kimia berlangsungnya suatu reaksi dari keadaan semula (awal) sampai keadaan akhir diperkirakan melalui beberapa tahap reaksi, (http://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laju_reaksi,09.36, (http://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laju_reaksi, 09.36, 23 Oktober 2011)
Etil asetat adalah senyawa organik dengan rumus CH 3CH2OC(O)CH3. Senyawa ini merupakan ester dari etanol dan asam asetat. Senyawa ini berwujud cairan tak berwarna, memiliki aroma khas. Senyawa ini sering disingkat EtOAc, dengan Et mewakili gugus etil dan OAc mewakili asetat. Etil asetat diproduksi dalam skala besar sebagai pelarut.Etil asetat adalah pelarut polar menengah yang volatil (mudah menguap), tidak beracun, dan tidak higroskopis. Etil asetat merupakan penerima ikatan hidrogen yang lemah, dan bukan suatu donor ikatan hidrogen karena tidak adanya proton yang bersifat asam (yaitu hidrogen yang terikat pada atom elektronegatif seperti flor, oksigen, dan nitrogen. Etil asetat dapat melarutkan air hingga 3%, dan larut dalam air hingga kelarutan 8% pada suhu kamar. Kelarutannya meningkat pada suhu yang lebih tinggi. Namun demikian, senyawa ini tidak stabil dalam air yang mengandung basa atau asam, (http://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etil_asetat, 22.31, 31 Oktober 2011).
Reaksi penyabunan (sponifikasi) dengan menggunakan alkali adalah adalah reaksi trigliserida dengan alkali (NaOH atau at au KOH) yang menghasilkan sabun dan gliserin. Reaksi penyabunan dapat ditulis sebagai berikut :
