RESUMO
A finura do cimento é uma noção relacionada com o tamanho dos grãos do produto. É usualmente definida de duas maneiras distintas: pelo tamanho máximo do grão, quando as especificações estabelecem uma proporção em peso do material retido a operação de peneiramento em malha de abertura definida pelo valor da superfície especifica (soma das superfícies dos grãos contidos em uma grama de cimento). A finura, mais precisamente a superfície especifica do produto, é o fator que governa a velocidade da reação de hidratação do mesmo e tem também sua influencia comprovada em muitas qualidades de pasta, das argamassas e dos concretos. O aumento da finura melhora a resistência, particularmente a resistência da primeira idade, diminui a exsudação e os tipos de segregação, aumenta a impermeabilidade, a trabalhabilidade e a coesão dos concretos e diminui a expansão em autoclave. Exsudação é o fenômeno que consiste na separação espontânea da água de mistura que naturalmente aflora pelo efeito conjunto da diferença de densidades entre o cimento e a água e o grau de permeabilidade que permanece na pasta. É um tipo de segregação entendido como separação dos diversos constituintes das argamassas e dos concretos por via de ação de diferentes causas, conduzindo a uma indesejável heterogeneidade. A coesão nos concretos e argamassas frescas é responsável pela estabilidade mecânica dos mesmos antes do inicio da pega, e é medida pelo valor de resistência do cisalhamento. A análise do módulo m ódulo de finura do cimento tem como objetivo a determinação da finura das partículas (grãos) do cimento, conforme a norma NBR 11579. A partir dos materiais, cimento CEMEX CP-I-S-32 e das ferramentas (peneiras, balança, cronômetro) disponíveis no laboratório, pudera então efetuar o experimento. O índice de finura do cimento é o grau da porcentagem de grãos menores que passam pela peneira 200, o qual significa que quanto mais fino estiver o cimento melhor será a sua reação e a resistência mecânica depois de pronto será maior.

INTRODUÇÃO
São várias as propriedades do cimento, considerando a composição desse aglomerante hidráulico que é tão vastamente utilizado na construção civil, existe entre as diversas características desse material, a finura do cimento, que influencia a sua reação com água. Geralmente, quanto mais fino o cimento, mais rápido ele reagirá. Para uma dada composição, a taxa de reatividade e, portanto, de desenvolvimento da resistência, pode ser aumentada através de uma moagem mais fina do cimento; porém, o custo da moagem e o calor de liberado na hidratação estabelecem alguns limites para a finura. Por tudo isso, se faz necessário o conhecimento dessa propriedade do cimento, podendo assim ter um maior controle sobre o dimensionamento de argamassas e concretos. REVISÃO DE LITERATURA Cimento Portland Segundo a NBR 5732, é um aglomerante hidráulico obtido pela moagem do clínquer
Portland ao qual se adiciona, durante a operação, a quantidade necessária de uma ou mais formas de sulfato de cálcio. Durante a moagem é permitido adicionar a esta mistura materiais pozolânicos, escórias granuladas de alto forno e/ou materiais carbonáticos. Os cimentos foram originariamente fabricados segundo as especificações dos consumidores que encomendavam, das fábricas, o produto com certas características convenientes a um trabalho. A partir de 1904, quando as primeiras especificações da ASTM foram introduzidas, a indústria limitou-se a produzir alguns tipos tipos de cimento. Em cada país, a indústria produz os cimentos padronizados pelo organismo normalizador nacional e alguns outros fora de normas, mas sempre um número limitado de tipos. Não se encontram todos os tipos, entretanto, disponíveis no mercado. Muitos deles, destinados a usos especiais, são obtidos mediante encomenda.

O cimento Portland é atualmente produzido em instalações industriais de grande porte, localizadas junto às jazidas que se encontram em situação favorável quanto ao transporte do produto acabado aos centros consumidores. Trata-se de um produto de preço relativamente baixo, baixo, que não comporta fretes a grandes distâncias. O silicato tricálcico (C 3S) é o maior responsável pela resistência em todas as idades especialmente até o fim do primeiro mês de cura. O Silicato bicálcico (C 2S) adquire maior importância no processo de endurecimento em idades mais avançadas, sendo largamente responsável pelo ganho de resistência a um ano ou mais. O aluminato tricálcico (C 3A) também contribui para a resistência, especialmente o primeiro dia. O ferro aluminato de cálcio (C 4AFe) em nada contribui para a resistência. O aluminato de cálcio (C 3A) muito contribui para o calor de hidratação, especialmente no início do período de cura. O silicato tricálcico é o segundo componente em importância no processo de liberação de calor. Os dois outros componentes contribuem pouco para a liberação de calor. O aluminato de cálcio, quando presente em forma cristalina, é o responsável pela rapidez de pega. Com a adição de proporção conveniente de gesso, o tempo de hidratação é controlado. O silicato tricálcico (C 3S) é o seguindo componente com responsabilidade pelo tempo de pega do cimento. Os outros constituintes se hidratam lentamente, não tendo efeito sobre o tempo de pega.
