The DISPATCH Operator Certification† allows mines that currently use the Modular Mining DISPATCH ® System, to certify their operators and ensure that each is instructed on the proper use and implementation of all aspects of the system. Training includes classroom, real-time sessions with a Modular specialist, and hands-on dispatching. There are four levels of certification. Each level is designed to increase the operator’s knowledge of the DISPATCH® system; from basic operating procedures introduced in Level 1, to the highest levels of expertise, trouble shooting, and in-depth analysis of optimization strategies in Level IV. To obtain certification, dispatchers must meet the specified requirements for that level. SM
DISPATCH Operator Certification Cards are awarded for each level of certification achieved. Additionally, Level I participants will receive a Certificate of Accomplishment for each Level I session completed with satisfactory results. Certification is valid for two years from the date of achievement. A two-year refresher program is available to dispatchers who wish to keep their certification current. Customized refresher courses will be offered, along with the option of additional training to achieve higher certification levels.

DISPATCH OPERATOR CERTIFICATION
Level I Certification is designed for new dispatchers with little or no understanding of the installed DISPATCH® system. Level I Certification consists of four modules: DISPATCH I, DISPATCH II, Real-Time Training, and Real-Time Dispatching. To obtain a Level I Certification, dispatchers must complete the following requirements:

Topics of concentration include, but are not limited to: DISPATCH® System Overview, DISPATCH® System Hardware, DISPATCH® Mine Model, Haul Cycle Model, Dispatcher Interface, Navigating the Dispatcher Interface, Understanding the Primary DISPATCH ® Screens, and Start of Shift. Real-Time Training is performed on shift during normal operating circumstances. A DISPATCH® Training Specialist from Modular Mining Syst ems tutors the dispatchers in a live situation. By sitting on shift with normal mining activities occurring, the dispatcher is exposed to various events and recovery options. Real-time flow rates of the haulage fleet can be evaluated and modified to ensure maximum optimization from the IntelliMine ® system. Optimization strategies are discussed for normal mine upset times such as: Shiftchange, breaks, lunch, fueling and blasting. Dispatchers also learn how to effectively communicate with equipment operators to complete the tasks at hand. The Dispatcher Competency Assessment is introduced to prepare dispatchers for assessments during Levels II, III and IV. Real-Time Dispatching (2 Days) ®
This class provides instruction on how to use the DISPATCH system during a shift. It starts with a suggestion of how to begin a shift and then covers techniques for running the shift. The class explains how to recognize a well-balanced, well-operating mine using the DISPATCH® system and explores strategies for maintaining that balance. Using simulations, the class covers consequences for various dispatcher actions, and addresses specific problems dispatchers face at their respective mines. The final stage of the Level I Certification Program is a minimum of 250 hours of actual dispatching. This equates to approximately twenty-one 12-hour shifts. It is recommended that this time be used by the dispatcher to work on areas within the system where the operator lacks confidence or is unsure of operational functionality. The 36 hours of Real-Time Training can be used toward fulfilling the 250-hour Real-Time Dispatching prerequisite. Requirements for completion Minimum of 250 hours of real-time dispatching

Level II Pre-requisites: Level I Certification Level II Certification consists of two sections: Best Path (BP) Model and Dispatcher Assessment. BP Model Dispatchers will complete a practical demonstration of functionality and concepts associated with the BP Model (Graphics Database). The

DISPATCH OPERATOR CERTIFICATION demonstration may either be performed on normal shift or in a separate classroom. The DISPATCH® Training Specialist will guide the dispatcher through a comprehensive checklist of maintenance tools and utilities within the DISPATCH® BP Model. Dispatcher Assessment A comprehensive assessment will be administered and rated to determine the overall system knowledge of the dispatcher. The checklist covers all areas related to normal DISPATCH® System operation. There are four (4) possible ratings on the Dispatcher Assessment: Poor, Fair, Good, and Excellent. Level III Certification consists of three sections: Linear Programming (LP) Model, Dynamic Programming (DP) Model, and Database Maintenance. To obtain a Level III Certification, dispatchers must complete the following requirements: » Complete LP and DP Model classes » Demonstrate a basic understanding of the LP and DP Models » Real-Time Training (36 additional hours) » Achieve a GOOD rating or better on Dispatcher Assessment » Demonstrate ability to edit shift data and database maintenance » Real-Time Dispatching (1000 hours)
DP Model Dispatchers will be required to explain the DP Model and how it determines truck assignments and Shovel Need Lists. An understanding of how to manually change DP Truck Assignments and possible system upsets will be required. To fully understand the DP Model and its functionality, dispatchers must first be able to grasp the concepts utilized in the LP Model. Database Maintenance
Dispatchers will demonstrate their knowledge of the LP Model and associated utilities. The LPCONFIGMOD Utility is the main area of concentration. The assessment is designed to ensure that dispatchers have a thorough understanding of LP and how DISPATCH ® uses the algorithm to optimize the overall mining process. Dispatchers will be required to demonstrate the use and functionality of all LP Utilities, along with LP troubleshooting techniques.
Dispatchers must demonstrate competency on the SHIFTEDIT Utility. Areas of concentration will be: Load Records, Dump Records, Status Records, Operator Records, Equipment Records, Grade Records, Reconciliation, and Summarization.

Packet Switcher Debug Screen
Level IV Certification requires the very highest level of competency on the installed IntelliMine® System. Level IV Certification consists of two sections: Packet Switcher Debug Screen and Basic GC & Dispatcher Training. Dispatchers who achieve this level should be a ble to develop in-depth report analyses for the creation and implementation of optimization strategies. To obtain a Level IV Certification, dispatchers must complete the following requirements:
Dispatchers will demonstrate troubleshooting techniques for Field Computer Systems using the PSW Debug utility. Competency testing in a practical situation will include the following areas: field radio test, repeater test, GPS testing, reset ting field computer, and understanding incoming & outgoing packets.
