EVANS I N D ON ES I A Pangkatan POM By : Feby Zulkarnain, ST Proses pengolahan kelapa sawit sampai dengan menjadi Crude Palm Oil (CPO) di PT. EVANS Indonesia PG POM melalui beberapa tahapan proses, dimana proses-proses tersebut terjadi pada masing stasiun sebagai berikut : 1. LO LOAD ADIING RAMP AMP
Setelah buah disortir pihak sortasi, buah dimasukkan kedalam ramp cage yang berada diatas rel lori. Ramp cage mempunyai 12 pintu yang dibuka tutup dengan sistem hidrolik, terdiri dari 2 line sebelah kiri dan kanan. Pada saat pintu dibuka lori yang berada dibawah cage akan terisi dengan TBS. Setela Setelah h terisi, terisi, lori lori ditari ditarik k dengan dengan capsta capstand nd ke transfer carriage , dimana transfer masing mempunyai mempunyai berat rata-rata 10,5 carriage dapat memuat 3 lori yang masing – masing ton. Dengan transfer carriage lori diarahkan ke rel sterilizer yang diinginkan. Kemudian diserikan sebanyak 3 lori untuk dimasukan kedalam sterilizer . Pemasukan lori ke dalam sterilizer menggunakan capstand. 2. STERILIZER
Sterilisasi adalah proses perebusan dalam suatu bejana yang disebut dengan sterilizer . Adapun fungsi dari perebusan adalah sebagai berikut: 1. 2. 3. 4.
Mematikan enzyme. Memudahkan lepasnya brondolan dari tandan. Mengurangi kadar air dalam buah. Melunakkan mesocarp sehingga memudahkan proses pelumatan dan pengepressan. 5. Memudahkan lepasnya kernel dari cangkangnya.
Proses Proses perebu perebusan san dilaku dilakukan kan selama selama 85 -95 menit. menit. Untuk Untuk media media pemana pemanass dipaka dipakaii steam dari BVP ( Back Pressure Vessel ) yang bertekanan 2,8-3 bar. Perebusan dilakukan dengan sistem 3 peak ( tiga puncak tekanan). Puncak pertama tekanan tekanan sampai sampai 1,5 Kg/cm2, puncak kedua tekanan sampai 2,0 Kg/cm 2 dan puncak ketiga tekanan sampai 2,8 – 3,0 Kg/cm 2.
Berikut proses perebusan sistem tiga peak : 1. Deaeration dilakukan 2 menit, dimana posisi condensate terbuka. 2. Memasukkan uap untuk peak pertama yang dicapai dalam waktu 10 menit. Biasanya tekanan mencapai 1,2 bar. 3. Uap dan kondensat dibuang sampai tekanan menjadi 0 bar dalam waktu 5 menit. 4. Uap dimasukkan selama 15 menit untuk mencapai tekanan 2 bar. 5. Uap kondensat dibuang lagi selama 3 menit. 6. Kemudian steam dimasukkan lagi untuk mencapai peak ke-3 dalam waktu 15 – 20 menit. 7. Setalah peak ketiga tercapai maka dilakukan penahanan selama 40 – 50 menit. 8. Uap kondensat dibuang selama 5 – 7 menit sampai tekanan 0.
3. THRESSER
Setelah perebusan TBS yang telah masak diangkut ke thresser dengan mengggunakan hoisting crane / tippler. Lori diangkat dan dibalikkan diatas hopper thresser (auto feeder ). Pada stasiun ini tandan buah segar yang telah direbus siap untuk dipisahkan antara berondolan dan tandannya. Sebelum masuk kedalam thresser TBS yang telah direbus diatur pemasukannya dengan menggunakan auto feeder . Dengan menggunakan putaran TBS dibanting sehingga berondolan lepas dari tandannya dan jatuh ke conveyor dan elevator untuk didistribusikan ke rethresser untuk pembantingan kedua kalinya. Thresser mempunyai kecepatan putaran 22 – 25 rpm. Pada bagian dalam thresser , dipasang batang-batang besi perantara sehingga membentuk kisi-kisi yang memungkinkan berondolan keluar dari thresser . Untuk tandan kosong sendiri didistribusikan dengan empty bunch conveyor untuk didistribusikan ke penampungan empty bunch.
4. PRESSING STATION
Berondolan yang keluar dari thresser jatuh ke conveyor , kemudian diangkut dengan fruit elevator ke top cross conveyor yang mendistribusikan berondolan ke distributing conveyor untuk dimasukkan dalam tiap-tiap digester . Digester adalah tangki silinder tegak yang dilengkapi pisau-pisau pengaduk dengan kecepatan putaran 25-26 rpm, sehingga brondolan dapat dicacah di dalam tangki ini. Bila tiap-tiap digester telah terisi penuh maka brondolan menuju ke conveyor recycling , diteruskan ke elevator untuk dikembalikan ke digester . Tujuan pelumatan adalah agar daging buah terlepas dari biji sehingga mudah di- press. Untuk memudahkan pelumatan buah, pada digester di-inject steam bersuhu sekitar 90 – 95 °C.
Berondolan yang telah lumat masuk ke dalam screw press untuk diperas sehingga dihasilkan minyak (crude oil ). Pada proses ini dilakukan penyemprotan air panas agar minyak yang keluar tidak terlalu kental (penurunan viscositas ) supaya pori-pori silinder tidak tersumbat, sehingga kerja screw press tidak terlalu berat. Penyemprotan air dilakukan melalui nozzle-nozzle pada pipa berlubang yang dipasang pada screw press . Kapasitas mesin press adalah 20 ton per jam. Tekanan mesin press harus diatur, karena bila tekanan terlalu tinggi dapat menyebabkan inti pecah dan screw press mudah aus. Sebaliknya, jika tekanan mesin press terlalu rendah maka oil losses di ampas tinggi. Minyak hasil mesin press kemudian menuju ke sand trap tank untuk pengendapan. Hasil lain adalah ampas (terdiri dari biji dan fiber), yang akan dipisahkan dengan menggunakan cake breaker conveyor (CBC). 5. CLARIFICATION STATION
Minyak yang berasal dari stasiun press masih banyak mengandung kotoran-kotoran yang berasal dari daging buah seperti lumpur, air dan lain-lain. Untuk mendapatkan minyak yang memenuhi standar, maka perlu dilakukan pemurnian terhadap minyak tersebut. Pada stasiun ini terdiri dari beberapa unit alat pengolah untuk memurnikan minyak produksi, yang meliputi : Sand Trap Tank , Vibrating Screen , Crude Oil Tank , Continous Settling Tank (CST), Oil Tank , Purifier , Vacum Dryer , Sludge Oil Tank , Sludge Vibrating Screen , Sludge Centrifuge , Fat Pit , dan Storage Tank . a. Sand Trap Tank
Minyak hasil mesin press merupakan minyak mentah yang masih banyak mengandung kotoran-kotoran. Minyak tersebut masuk ke sand trap tank untuk mengendapkan partikel-partikel yang mempunyai densitas tinggi. Sand trap tank adalah sebuah bejana yang berbentuk silinder tegak. b. Vibrating Screen
Minyak bagian atas dari sand trap tank yang masih mengandung serat dan sedikit kotoran dialirkan ke ayakan getar ( vibrating screen ). Proses penyaringan memakai vibrating screen bertujuan untuk memisahkan padatan, seperti : serabut, pasir, tanah dan kotoran-kotoran lain yang masih terbawa dari sand trap tank . Vibrating yang digunakan adalah double deck vibrating screen , dimana screen pertama berukuran 30 mesh dan screen kedua 40 mesh. Padatan yang tertahan pada ayakan akan dikembalikan ke digester melalui conveyor , sedangkan minyak dipompakan ke crude oil tank . c. Crude Oil Tank (COT)
Minyak yang keluar dari vibrating screen dialirkan ke crude oil tank untuk ditampung sementara. Pada crude oil tank ini minyak dipanaskan dengan steam melalui sistem pipa pemanas, dan suhu dipertahankan 90-95°C. Dari sini minyak dipompakan ke CST (Continuous Settling Tank ).
d. Continous Settling Tank (CST)
Minyak dari COT dipompakan ke CST yang bertujuan untuk mengendapkan lumpur ( sudge) berdasarkan perbedaan berat jenisnya. Di CST suhu dipertahankan 86-90 oC. Minyak pada bagian atas CST dikutip dengan bantuan skimmer menuju oil tank , sedangkan sludge (yang masih mengandung minyak) pada bagian bawah dialirkan secara underflow ke sludge vibrating screen sebelum ke sludge oil tank . Sludge dan pasir yang mengendap didasar CST di- blowdown untuk dibawa ke sludge drain tank . e. Oil Tank
Minyak dari CST menuju ke oil tank untuk ditampung sementara waktu, sebelum dialirkan ke oil purifier . Dalam oil tank juga terjadi pemanasan (75-80°C) dengan tujuan untuk mengurangi kadar air. f. Purifier
Di dalam purifier dilakukan pemurnian untuk mengurangi kadar kotoran dan kadar air yang terdapat pada minyak berdasarkan atas perbedaan densitas dengan menggunakan gaya sentrifugal, dengan kecepatan perputarannya 7500 rpm. Kotoran dan air yang memiliki densitas yang besar akan berada pada bagian yang luar (dinding bowl ), sedangkan minyak yang mempunyai densitas lebih kecil bergerak ke arah poros dan keluar melalui sudu-sudu untuk dialirkan ke vacuum drier . Kotoran dan air yang melekat pada dinding di-blowdown ke saluran pembuangan untuk dibawa ke Fat Pit . g. Vacuum Drier
Minyak yang keluar dari purifier masih mengandung air, maka untuk mengurangi kadar air tersebut, minyak dipompakan ke vacuum drier . Di sini minyak disemprot dengan menggunakan nozzle sehingga campuran minyak dan air tersebut akan pecah. Hal ini akan mempermudah pemisahan air dalam minyak, dimana minyak yang memiliki tekanan uap lebih rendah dari air akan turun ke bawah dan kemudian dipompakan ke storage tank . h. Sludge Tank
Untuk overflow dari tangki ini di alirkan ke drain tank sedangkan under flownya dialirkan ke vibrating screen dan brush strainer atau langsung ke bak transit untuk dipompakan ke sand cyclone. Untuk mempercepat pengendapan lumpur, sludge dipanaskan (80-90oC) dengan menggunakan uap yang dialirkan melalui coil pemanas. Sehingga densitas minyak menjadi lebih rendah dan lumpur halus yang melekat pada minyak akan terlepas dan mengendap pada dasar tangki. Dari sand cyclone atau brush strainer sludge dialirkan ke balance tank sebagai umpan untuk decanter atau sludge centrifuge. i. Sludge centrifuge
Sludge centrifuge untuk mengolah sludge. Sludge Centrifuge adalah alat yang digunakan untuk memisahkan minyak yang masih terkandung di dalam sludge,
dengan cara pemisahan berdasarkan gaya sentrifugal. Didalam sludge centrifuge ini terdapat bowl yang berputar 1450 rpm, bowl ini berbentuk bintang yang diujungnya terdapat nozzle dengan diameter lubang tertentu dan nozzle ini dapat diganti sesuai keinginan. Prinsip kerjanya adalah nozzle separator berputar dengan gaya centifugal dimana pemisahannya, fraksi berat ( lumpur, kotoran ) terlempar ke dinding bowl dan fraksi ringan (air dan minyak) akan ketengah. Minyak yang mempunyai densitas lebih kecil akan menuju poros dan terdorong keluar melalui sudu-sudu (paring disk), dan ditampung di reclaimed tank sebelum dipompakan oleh reclaimed oil pump untuk alirkan kembali ke CST. Sedangkan sludge (mengandung air) yang mempuyai densitas lebih besar akan terdorong ke bagian dinding bowl dan keluar melalui nozzle, kemudian sludge keluar melalui saluran pembuangan menuju fat pit. j. Sludge drain tank
Lapisan bawah dari CST, dan sludge tank pada selang waktu tertentu didrain menuju sludge drain tank. Di sludge drain tank minyak mengalir tenang dan dibiarkan overflow untuk mengalir dan ditampung pada reclaimed tank, dan kemudian dipompakan kembali ke CST untuk kemudian dimurnikan lagi. Sedangkan kotoran dan air dialirkan menuju fat pit. k. Fat Pit
Sebelum sludge di buang ke kolam pengolahan limbah, terlebih dahulu ditampung di fat pit dengan maksud agar minyak yang masih terbawa dapat terpisah kembali. Di Fat Pit diinjeksikan uap sebagai pemanas untuk mempermudah proses pemisahan minyak dengan kotoran. Minyak yang ada pada permukaan dibiarkan melimpah (overflow). Selanjutnya minyak ditampung pada sebuah bak pada pinggiran kolam fat pit, dan kemudian dipompakan kembali ke sludge drain tank. l. Storage Tank
Minyak dari vacuum dryer, kemudian dipompakan ke storage tank (tangki timbun), pada suhu simpan 45-55°C. Setiap hari dilakukan pengujian mutu. Minyak yang dihasilkan dari daging buah berupa minyak yang disebut Crude Palm Oil (CPO).
6. NUT AND KERNEL STATION
Pada stasiun ini dilakukan aktifitas pemisahan serabut dari nut, pemisahan inti dari cangkangnya dan juga pengeringan inti. Peralatan yang digunakan di stasiun ini , diantaranya : Cake Breaker Conveyor (CBC), Depericarper, Nut Silo, Ripple Mill, Claybath, dan Kernel Silo. 1. Cake Breaker Conveyor (CBC)
Ampas dari screw press yang terdiri dari fiber dan nut yang masih menggumpal masuk ke CBC. CBC merupakan suatu screw conveyor namun screwnya dipasang palt persegi sebagai pelempar fiber dan nut. CBC berfungsi untuk mengurai gumpalan fiber dengan nut dan membawanya ke depericarper.
2. Depericarper
Depericarper adalah alat untuk memisahkan fiber dengan nut. Fiber dan nut dari CBC masuk ke separating column. Disini fraksi ringan yang berupa fiber dihisap dengan fibre cyclone dan di tampung dalam hopper sebagai bahan bakar pada boiler. Sedangkan fraksi berat berupa nut turun ke bawah masuk ke polishing drum. 3.
Nut Polishing Drum
Nut polishing drum berupa drum berlubang-lubang yang berrputar. Akibat dari perputaran ini terjadi gesekan yang mengakibatkan serabut yang masih menempel pada nut terkikis dan terpisah dari nut. Nut jatuh, selanjutnya nut diangkut oleh nut conveyor dan destoner (second depericarper) untuk memisahkan batu dan benda – benda yang lebih berat dari nut seperti besi. Nut yang terbawa ke atas jatuh kembali di dalam air lock dan di tampung oleh nut elevator untuk dibawa ke dalam nut silo. 4. Nut Silo
Fungsi dari alat ini sebagai tempat penampungan nut, hal ini dilakukan untuk mengurangi kadar air sehingga lebih mudah dipecah dan inti lekang dari cangkangnya. 5. Ripple Mill
Biji dari nut silo masuk ke ripple mill untuk dipecah sehingga inti terpisah dari cangkang. Biji yang masuk melalui rotor akan mengalami gaya sentrifugal sehingga biji keluar dari rotor dan terbanting dengan kuat yang menyebabkan cangkang pecah. Setelah dipecahkan inti yang masih bercampur dengan kotoran-kotoran di bawa ke kernel grading drum. 6. Kernel Grading Drum
Pada kernel grading drum ini di saring antara nut,shell dan kotoran dengan nut yang belum terpecahkan. Untuk nut shell dan kotoran lolos dari saringan dibawa ke LTDS. Sementara untuk nut atau yang tertahan dikembalikan ke nut conveyor. 7. Light Tenera Dry Separator (LTDS)
Pada bagian ini akan terjadi pemisahan dimana fraksi-fraksi yang lebih ringan akan dihisap oleh LTDS cyclone. Fraksi-fraksi yang ringan di hisap yang terdiri dari cangkang dan serabut akan di bawa ke shell hopper melalui fibre and shell conveyor. Inti dan sebagian cangkang yang belum terpisahkan, dipisahkan lagi pada clay bath.
8. Clay Bath
Clay bath adalah alat pemisahan Inti dengan cangkang. Proses pemisahan ini secara basah yang menggunakan larutan CaCO3 dan air dengan ukuran partikel CaCO 3 lolos mesh 400. Clay bath berfungsi sebagai larutan pemisah antara kernel dan cangkang berdasarkan berat jenis. Berat jenis Kernel basah = 1,07 dan berat jenis cangkang = 1,15 – 1,20, maka untuk memisah kernel dan cangkang tersebut dibuat larutan dengan berat jenis = 1,12. Bagian yang ringan akan mengapung dan bagian yang berat akan tenggelam. Inti yang merupakan fraksi ringan akan dibawa ke kernel silo untuk disimpan dengan suhu tertentu. 9. Kernel Silo
Inti yang masih mengandung air, perlu dikeringkan sampai kadar air 7%. Inti yang berasal dari pemisahan di clay bath melalui top wet kernel conveyor didistribusikan ke dalam unit kernel silo untuk dilakukan proses pengeringan. Pada kernel silo ini inti akan dikeringkan dengan menggunakan udara panas dari steam heater yang dihembuskan oleh Fan kernel silo ke dalam kernel silo. Pengeringan dilakukan pada temperatur 60-80°C selama 4-8 jam. Kernel yang telah dikeringkan ini dibawa ke kernel bulk silo melalui dry kernel transport fan.

POM through several stages of the process, in which these processes occur at each station as follows: 1. Loading RAMP After sorting the sorted fruit, fruit that is inserted into the cage above the ramp rail lorries. Usually the pressure reaches 1.2 bar. 3. Steam and condensate disposed of until the pressure becomes 0 bar within five minutes. 4. Steam is inserted for 15 minutes to reach the pressure of 2 bar. 5. Steam condensate removed again for three minutes. 6. Then steam is inserted again to reach the third peak within 15-20 minutes. 7. After the third peak is reached then performed detention for 40-50 minutes. 8. Steam condensate disposed of during the 5-7 minutes until the pressure of 0. 3. THRESSER After boiling TBS that have been cooked with mengggunakan thresser transported to the hoisting crane / tippler. Lori lifted and inverted over the hopper thresser (auto feeder). STATION CLARIFICATION The oil comes from the press station still contains a lot of dirt from the flesh of fruit such as mud, water and others. To accelerate the deposition of sludge, the sludge is heated (80-90oC) using the steam that flowed through the heating coil.
