A. Reviewing previous lessons or presenting the new lesson
(2 mins) Teacher welcomes the class and introduces self (specialization, backround, credentials)
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson
(5 min) Post on the board jambled letters of the phrase "definition of management". Let the students arrange the jambled letters. When arranged emphasize to the students that the phrase serves as the lesson for the day. Then ask the students the following questions: 1. How will management get you through senior high school and prepare yourself for your eventual career?
Divide the class into 7 groups. In each group there must be a leader and a reporter. Distribute to each group a paper where a paragraph about Management is discussed. Let the group read the paragraph and then come up with the title and let them explain their answer. Give the group 10 minutes to C. Presenting examples/instances of work on their task and let them explain their answers in 30 seconds. (The the new lesson answers should be: 1. Management as a Process 2. Management as an Activity 3. Management as a Discipline 4. Management as a Group 5. Management as a Science 6. Management as an Art 7. Management as a Profession
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills
Discuss in detail the definition of management according to the different categories as answered by the students (Refer to the attached definition of management)
E. Developing Mastery Ask the students the following questions: F. Finding Practical applications of 1. How will you make use of concepts and skills in daily living management as an art and as a discipline in preparation for your future life career?
H. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson
