Once we output PDMS PLOT file, we can convert it to DXF by using PLOT utility supplied with PDMS executable. But, all the text will be broke down into short lines, so this way is not really useful.

If you don't care dificullity of text modification, you can convert DXF to PLOT by the following command.

(copy "%;PDMSEXE%\DFORMD.dll" to %PDMSEXE%\plot folder before do this.) (e.g. %PDMSEXE% = c:\aveva\pdms11.6.sp4) - open Windows command window (cmd) then input; ========================================= === cd c:\aveva\pdms11.6.sp4\plot plot pdms c:\folder\yourplot.plt c:\folder\newplot.dxf ========================================= ===
But, the best way is to use DXF file output option of Isodraft. Ask your system administrator to change the Iso Option File setting. To change the DXF output setting, please see the explanation of FILE command in the manual, or, Format option setting on Administrative form in Isodraft.

If you have access to folder of project; You can copy from the file that located in ABCISO/STD that used for project. then rename it for yourself and edit the option file & add the following line into file. File AND DXF /C:\Temp\ABC/plot SINGLE

in draft or isodraft there are ways of output in the .dxf format. Once it is .plt format there is no utility to convert to .dxf that I know of (for a reason). .plt is made so that others can print the drawing and not modifying it.

You say it converted from .plt to .dxf sucsessfully: 1) have you checked the directory you saved the .dxf file (what is the file size?) 2) what version of autocad are you using? 3) do you have access to PDMS draft, if yes then try to convert to .dxf direct from there. I'm not convinced you can convert .plt to .dxf to autocad/microstation!

You need to have you administrator make you a member of the ISOADMIN team and then you will be able to modify to option files within isodraft. Once in isodraft admin you can set the switch to create a dxf, plt or both. You can also edit an option file manually in a text editor.
