“B1A23! the sound made by the door as 4adee left the room" She %as very furious because it had been her second intervie% in three %ee$s and none of the employers thought she %as capable of %or$ing as an electrical engineer" 4adee 2iller is a t%enty,four year old %oman %ho had recently graduated from college" 5rom ever since she %as t%elve years old she %anted to become an electrical engineer because she %as al%ays fascinated %ith the different pro*ects she sa% her father %or$ing on" She spent five years in college studying all aspects of engineering and finally she decided to get a *ob to help fulfill her dream" She %or$ed really hard and had to stay up a fe% times really late *ust to complete her assignments because she believed failure %asn#t an option" 4adee lived by herself in a small home not far from the city" 6er parents passed a%ay in a tragic car ac cident %hen she %as eighteen" She %as left on her o%n because the government did not care for eighteen year olds" 7ith a scholarship and help from her aunt( 4adee managed fairly %ell to sustain herself until she could find herself a *ob" She pressed her ear hard against the door and listened8 “on9t hire her she#ll only get pregnant and leave(! a male voice said" “Give her a chance3! another voice said" “I#m sure %e don#t %ant the company to suffer again li$e %e did %hen %e hired a %oman before for the role"! 4adee felt very eated as she $ne% she deserved this *ob" She started %or$ing the %ee$ after"There %ere very fe% female engineers at the oil refinery and she sho%ed the e)ecutives that she %as a dedicated %oman and capable of completing any tas$ she got" 6er colleagues loved her e)cept her supervisor" 4adee remembered him from the intervie% vie%ing her coldly" 6e never thought she did anything right and %ould often ma$e remar$s such as “I don9t $no% %hy you %omen don9t stay home and coo$ your husband#s dinner! or “I $no% you soon get pregnant"!
