Sejarah 01 Untuk mengantisipasi peningkatan kebutuhan tenaga listrik, mulai tahun 1992 Pemerintah Indonesia mengundang partisipasi pihak swasta dalam pengadaan tenaga listrik. Proyek listrik swasta ini dikenal dengan nama Independent Power Producer (IPP). Energy World Corporation (EWC) menanamkan investasi dengan membangun proyek pembangkit listrik melalui subsidiary-nya yaitu “PT. Energi Sengkang” dan sekaligus membangun proyek Kampung Baru Gas Field (Onshore) sebagai penyuplai gas alam untuk bahan bakar pembangkit listrik melalui subsidiary yang lain yaitu “Energy Equity EPIC Sengkang”. Gas alam yang diproduksi oleh Energy Equity EPIC yang berlokasi di Kampung Baru Kec. Gilireng kemudian disalurkan melalui pipa bawah tanah sepanjang 29 km ke PT. Energi Sengkang yang berlokasi di Patila Kec. Pammana.
Sejarah 02 Tanggal 23 April 1996, Penandatanganan Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) antara PT. Energi Sengkang dengan PT. PLN. Tanggal 27 September 1997, Commercial Operation of 85 MW Open Cycle Power Plant (2 x 42.5 MW ALSTOM Gas Turbines). Tanggal 12 September 1998, Commercial Operation of 135 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant (Block I). O & M Contractor : PT. ALSTOM Power Energy Systems Indonesia Sampai 12 Maret 2012 O & M Contractor : PT. Consolidated Electric Power Asia Mulai 13 Maret 2012. Tanggal 19 September 2002, Penandatanganan Amandemen PPA menjadi 195 MW. Additional 60 MW Simple Cycle (Block II). Maret 2008, Konstruksi 60 MW Simple Cycle dan Commercial Operation pada tanggal 17 November 2008, O&M di pegang langsung oleh PT Energi Sengkang 12 November 2010, Penandatanganan Amandemen PPA menjadi 315 MW. Additional 120 MW untuk Block II menjadi 180 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant.
