Basic Design of Metering and Regulator Station (MR/S)

The Metering Regulating Station (MR/S) gas metering system skid shall be designed such that suitable access for the operators so that they can work easily for operation and maintenance, capable to measure natural gas flow to the accuracy required under the conditions detailed in this specification, supplied on skid mounted based complete with all instrumentation and components/equipments components/equipments detailed in the specification and required by the referenced design codes and standards. The skid installation shall be designed as free of vibration.

The Metering Regulating Station (MR/S) shall consist of the t he following equipment as a minimum :

Insulating joint Isolating valves Filter complete c/w differential pressure indicator Instrument tubing and isolating valves Pressure gauges Slam shut valves Turbine flow meter Electronic volume corrector Temperature transmitter Pressure transmitter Pressure regulator (active and monitor) Relief valves Check valves Temperature indicator Straightening vane (separate or embedded type)

Pipe and fitting in the metering skid shall be seamless type. The MR/S shall be have calculation sizing of the following components :

Pressure Relief valve for overpressure protection rating shall be located at downstream of the active regulator. All local equipment (valves, transmitters, etc.) shall be readily accessible for operation and maintenance; elevations above grade or on-skid walkway or platform shall not exceed 1.4 meters. The Metering Regulating Station (MR/S) skid location shall be classified as hazardous area as per API RP 500 and the MR/S shall be designed accordingly.
