1. Introduction This document is designed to instruct the users on how to use the IED order specific files (more popular known as “option files”), more exactly – how to install them during the new IED insertion and the Configuration Wizard process or later on with the License Update Tool. IED insertion if you work offline, follow the steps described in Chapter 2: - If you don’t have access to the IED. IED insertion if you work online, follow the steps described in Chapter 3: - If you have access to the IED. How to run License Update Tool, follow the steps described in Chapter 4: - If you already started engineering.
2. If you don’t have access to the IED These steps assume that you have access to the order specific files (e.g. 213314930.zip, i.e. ordernumber.zip) Step 1 Unzip the file to extract the file “Orderoptions 213314930.xml“from it. Step 2 Start PCM600 and insert your IED, the IED Configuration Wizard will then start. Select the Offline option and click Next.

4. If you already started engineering For offline license update these steps assume that you have access to the order specific files (e.g. 213314930.zip, i.e. ordernumber.zip) Step 1 For offline license update unzip the file to extract the file “Orderoptions 213314930.xml“from it. Step 2 Start License Update Tool by right clicking the IED and select “License Update Tool”.

Step 8 After completion a migration report is presented, showing deleted functionality.
Figure 18
Deleted blocks are marked blue in Application Configuration Tool.
Figure 19
If there are any deleted function blocks, you need to check the configuration and make sure that all variables related to that function block are deleted as well and this will not impact the configuration. After this, you are ready now to continue using the IED in PCM.
5. Limitation If the order option in the IED is updated and a read command is executed, operation will fail. Hence the order option and the configuration will not match in the IED. To avoid this situation it is recommended that always execute a write operation from PCM with the new order options in order to synchronize the configuration and order options both in IED and PCM.
