Name of the presenter Andy Anderson is a Certified TOC Practitioner in Operations, Distribution, Strategy, Project Management and Finance. His TOC Consulting experience stretch over eighteen years, and covers both local and international companies covering a wide range of industries. Special focus areas include: Mining, Electricity and Steam Generation, the Steel Industry (from coal and iron ore mining through to retail, value adding processes and scrap recovery). Andy was the first to apply TOC concepts to Power Generation with very good results; he presented a paper on his work to a TOC International Convention held in George. His work in CCPM for shutdown projects set new standards for shutdown projects on large power plants, and he made presentations on it at the Shutdown Project Management Convention and the IQPC Shutdowns, Turnarounds & Outages Conference 2011. He was instrumental in getting the CCPM methodology adopted by ESKOM as integral part of their Outage Management philosophy.

Common Complaints in PM
“Even though projects are diverse- the complaints are very much the same”
27th International Conference of the TOC Practitioners Alliance ‐ TOCPA
Complaints Rather than Causes •If we asked a project manager 60 years ago to speak about his problems would we have heard different complaints? •Would the magnitude of the problems be different?
Then project management did not significantly progressed in the last 60 years.
HOW COME? Maybe we tried to deal directly with the complaints rather than with the deep causes for their existence?
