The regulaons regarding the lashing of cargo in road transport in Finland dier from those in the rest of the EU region. In Finland, the regulaon is decision 940/82 of the Finnish Transport Agency.

On other parts of the EU region, a so-called LASHING CAPACITY is in eect.

It is calculated with metal parts’ safety factor 2.0 and that of texle parts 3.0. Then, the LC value with, for example, 2,000kg nominal strength lashing is 1,700kg, which is expressed in Dekanewton, i.e. 1,700 daN. The LC value of a lashing with a nominal strength of 3,500kg in Finland, is only 2,500kg or 2,500daN.

LASHING ANGLE When the lashing device is in a horizontal position, the biggest holding force can be achieved. In practice, the lashing force can be calculated according to the below table.

TRANSPORTATION OF CONSTRUCTION MACHINES 1. Switch to the parking brake and to a small gear. 2. No machine part should rely merely on hydraulics. Dislocation during a journey must be prevented with a cylinder lock or other appropriate mechanic device. 3. Bind to a rigid or heavy axle.

TRANSPORTATION OF CONTAINERS In the transportation of containers, a vehicle equipped with container locks must primarily be used.

Container lock

If a container cannot be locked with container locks, it must be bound with at least four sepa rate bindings.
