Safety measures
• Some internal parts parts in this product contain high voltages and are dangerous. Be sure to take safety measures during servicing, such as wearing insulating gloves.
• Note that the capacitors indicated below are dangerous even after the power is turned off because an electric charge remains and a high voltage continues to exist there. Before starting any repair work, connect a discharging resistor (5 k-ohms/10 W) to the terminals of each capacitor indicated below to discharge electricity. The time required for discharging is about 30 seconds per each.

• To remove the wireless wireless LAN antenna connector, connector, use the special MHF connector remover. Hook the tip of this tool on the cover of the wireless LAN antenna connector and pull it straight in the direction of the engaging axis of the wireless LAN antenna connector. • The wireless wireless LAN antenna connector should only only be plugged back to the network module after it has been installed back onto the DIGITAL P.C.B. • When plugging the wireless LAN antenna connector back to the network module, make sure to hold it and insert it vertically using the MHF connector remover. Make sure not to insert the wireless LAN antenna connector at a sharp angle as it may break. • The wireless wireless LAN antenna connector can be inserted and removed up to 5 times only. 12

Initializing the back-up IC (EEPROM: IC22 on DIGITAL P.C.B.)
After updating the firmware, the back-up IC MUST be initialized by the following procedure store the setting information (soundfield parameters, system memory and tuner presetting, etc.) properly.
Start up the self-diagnostic function and select “S1. FACTORY PRESET” menu. (For details, refer to “SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION”)

1. Right after power is turned turned on, confirm that that the voltage voltage across the terminals of R2050 (Rch) and R2049 (Lch) are within the confines of 0.05 mV to 2.5 mV. 2. If measured voltage exceeds exceeds 2.5 mV, mV, remove R2032 (Rch) and R2029 (Lch), and then reconfirm the voltage.
Attention
If the measured voltage exceeds 2.5 mV after repairing the power amplifier, check other parts again for any possible defect before removing the resistor. 3. Confirm that the voltage is within the confines of 0.1 0.1 mV to 15 mV after 60 minutes.

Turn off the unit.

While holding down RETURN on the front panel, press (power). RETURN

Change the unit’s speaker impedance settings depending on the impedance of the speakers connected.

Select this option when you connect speakers with an impedance of 8 ohms or more to the unit.
Selecting the remote control ID (REMOTE ID)
When using multiple receivers in the same room, setting the remote control ID of this unit to ID1 (and setting the another receiver to other than ID1 can prevent interference from other remote controls.
Settings ID1, AUTO (default)
Restoring the default settings (INIT)
Restores the default settings for the un it.
Choices ALL
Restores the default settings for the unit.
NETWORK
Initialize all of the network, Bluetooth and USB settings. When performing the initialization, the preset registered registered by NET/USB input will will be cleared.
CANCEL
Does not perform an initialization.

Updating the �rmware (UPDATE)
New firmware that provides additional features features or product improvements will be released as needed. If the unit is connected to the Internet, you can download the firmware via the network. For details, refer to the information information supplied with updates.
Firmware update procedure Do not perform this procedure unless firmware update is necessary. Also, make sure you read the information supplied with updates before updating the firmware.

Press SELECT/ENTER repeatedly to select “USB” or “NETWORK” and press DISPLAY to start firmware update.
Choices USB
Update the firmware using a USB memory device.
NETWORK
Update the firmware via the network.
If the unit detects newer firmware over the network, “NewFwAvailable” appears as the “Information” menu item in “Network”. In this case, you can also update the unit’s firmware by following the procedure in “Updating “Updating the unit’s firmware via the network”.

Check the version of firmware currently installed on the unit. • You can also check the firmware version in “Update (Network Update)” in the “Setup” menu. • It may take a while until the firmware version is displayed.

UPDATING UPDA TING FIRMWARE FIR MWARE VIA THE NETWORK NET WORK New firmware that provides additional features features or product improvements will be released released as needed. If the unit is connected to the Internet, you can download the firmware via the network and update it.
Notes • Do not operate the unit or disconnect the power cable or network cable during firmware update. Firmware update takes about 20 minutes or more (depending on your Internet connection speed). • If the unit is connected to the wireless network via a wireless network adapter, network update may not be possible depending on the condition of the wireless connection. In this case, update the firmware using the USB memory device.
You can also update the firmware using the USB memory device from the “ADVANCED SETUP” menu.

If “UPDATE SUCCESS” appears on the front display, press (power) on the front panel.
The firmware update is complete.
