- Miramare Castle (Castello di Miramare) The castle of Miramare (Italianized form of the Spanish Miramar) was built by Maximilian of Habsburg, Archduke of Austria and Emperor of Mexico, to make their stay comfortable along with his wife Carlotta of Belgium. The castle was used as a museum and it also preserves a valuable collection of Oriental vases. Inside, you can see the rooms that were inhabited by Maximilian and his wife Carlotta, the guest rooms, a room of information that tells the story of the castle and the park constructi on, the rooms in which lived the Duke Amedeo d 'Aosta decorated in 1930 style rationalist.
Streets, Squares and Neighbourhoods - Piazza dell'Unita d'Italia Piazza Unità d'Italia is the main square of Trieste. It is located at the foot of the hill of San Giusto, between the Village Teresian Giuseppino. The square opens on one side of the Gulf of Trieste and is surrounded by numerous palaces and public buildings. This rectangul ar area is the largest square in Europe, which faces the sea (a few squares directly overlooking the sea, another well-known is the square of Commerce in Lisbon). The square is now home to the Municipality of Trieste, the Palazzo della Giunta Regionale del Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the prefecture of the capital.
