5.1 SUMMAR8: T!e researc! %as to study about temporary e,!ibition structures" As a first step all t!e terminoloies related to suc! structures& different parts of a temporary structure & different types of temporary structures& t!eir ad$antaes and disad$antaes& different types of membrane materials& construction of temporary structure& Air conditionin and li!tin inside a temporary structure %ere studied" Usin t!e secondary data ; main types of temporary structures are listed & and comparin t!ese t!ree types on t!e basis of cost & ris'iness of construction &span& climatic suitability& time of erection and dismantlin& 5oundation re)uirements and !ei!t & it %as found t!at temporary structure made %it! aluminium structural members and fabric membrane materials suc! as tarpaulin& nylon and polyester is more preferable"
5.2 INFERENCE: T!e 7i$e case study s!o%s t!at t!e temporary fabric structures can be constructed in t%o %ays con$entionally& namely barrel roofed structure and able roof structure" only t!ese t%o types of structures are found economical in our conte,t" Table :"1 s!o%s t!at barrel structure are more e,pensi$e t!an t!e able structure" And t!e barrel roofed structure can !a$e more span appro,imately 6?m %!ile t!e able roofed structure %ill not be stron to %it!stand %ind loads and ot!er loads %!en t!e span e,ceeds 6.m " 9!en comparin t!e barrel and able structure in terms of time ta'in for t!e construction& dismantlin and t!e ris'iness of construction& t!e able roofed structure is more preferable as its ta'in lesser time to erect and dismantle" And t!e ris'iness is comparati$ely $ery lesser

t!an t!e barrel structures because t!e arc! units used for t!e construction of barrel roofed structures are more !ea$y t!an t!e rafters and purlins used for t!e able roofed structure" Table :"6 s!o%s t!e cost comparison of 3embrane materials used for t!e temporary structures" 5rom t!e data collected t!rou! literature re$ie% & it is clear t!at t!e more e,pensi$e membrane material is Fe$lar and %!ic! is rarely used for t!e s!ort term temporary structures" Nylon s!eets& tarpaulin and polyesters are preferred as membrane structures for temporary pa$ilions T!e studies s!o%s t!at e$en t!ou! t!e fibre lass is lesser e,pensi$e t!an t!e Fe$lar s!eets &it can increase t!e !eat inside t!e structure" 9!ic! leads to t!e need of air conditioners more capacity and t!ereby increasin t!e cost" It is found from t!e literature studies t!at ot!er t!an t!e con$entional met!ods of assemblin and desins it is possible to desin structural components and /oints of different s!apes and ma'e a modular temporary structure" 5rom t!e abo$e studies it is found t!at able roofed structures are preferred to reduce t!e cost of construction and t!e time of erection and dismantlin& and semicircular or barrel roofed structures are preferred for lon span structures"
5.3 CONCLUSION: 5rom t!e studies it is found t!at fabric roofed structures are preferable as it is cost effecti$e and t!e time of erection and dismantlin is $ery less" polyester & nylon and tarpaulin are preferred structures" poly carbonate s!eets and steel clad roof structures are not preferred as t!ese types of structures are found $ery costly from t!e literature studies" it is found from t!e literature studies t!at ot!er t!an con$entional tec!ni)ue of construction& temporary structures can be constructed as modular structures& %!ic! can be carried from one site to t!e ot!er" Terminoloies used in temporary structures& different parts of a temporary structure& Different types of temporary structures and t!e occasions in %!ic! t!ey are used& t!e c!oice of appropriate desin and materials & construction tec!ni)ues of temporary structures& proper plannin and control of %or' practices& positionin on t!e site includin round conditions and foundations etc" are studied"
