OPERATIONAL PHILOSOPHY:-
Ref:
The “overall single line diagram” is as per Drg.no. A0-3612-400-011, Rev.01.
i)
The powe powerr plant plant will will be connec connected ted to TNEB TNEB grid grid by by 230kV 230kV DC DC line line on DC tower from M/s Tannex to Cuddalore - Villupuram 230kV line thus making LILO at power plant end.
ii)
The The features features of the the LILO LILO arrangem arrangement ent in TNEB TNEB swit switchi ching ng statio station n as follow follows, s, a). The existing existing double double circuit 230 kV kV line will be terminated terminated on a double double bus bar system with various metering and protection in the TNEB switching station station at power power plant plant end (i.e., (i.e., in the company company premis premises es by Tannex Tannex Power). The TNEB switching station will be fenced. The fenced area shall under lock and key of TNEB. b). The metering and protection equipment for the LILO arrangement will be housed in TNEB control room located in the TNEB switching station. This will be for operational convenience of the TNEB personal. c). The switching switching station station circuit breakers breakers namely 52-1, 52-1, 52-2, 52-3, 52-3, 52-4, and 52-15 will not receive any trip commands from the power plant switching station. d). For any faults faults on the downstream downstream of the switching switching station (i.e., (i.e., TG related faults), circuit breakers 52-11 and 52-12 will act and trip as line circuit breakers and there will be no effect on the circuit breakers in the TNEB switching station which will be under the control of TNEB. e). Installation Installation of PLCC PLCC & SCADA technology technology provid provides es a remote control control & monitoring operation of the equipment from the TNEB Substation end. The switching station parameters viz metering and breaker status can be monitored/controlled from Cuddalore or Villupuram Substation. This will ensure all the related breakers can be remotely operated after ensuring the line healthiness.
iii) The two two feeders feeders (52-11 (52-11 and and 52-12) 52-12) from from Unit Unit 1 & Unit 2 which will be be feeding feeding to the 230kV double bus system will be monitored and controlled by Tannex Power in the name of power plant switching station. iv) The The TNEB switch switching ing statio station n and power power plant plant switchin switching g station station will will be fenced fenced separately with separate gates. 1.0
SYNCHRONISATION PR PROCEDURE
The synchronizing scheme for 2 x 55 MW, 0.8 p.f, 11kV, 11kV, 3 Ph, 50Hz 50Hz TG Set is briefly described below: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Consultant: 2 Snyder Energo Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore

2.1
Auto Synchronization
Auto synchronization module is for the generator is mounted in the Generator MCS (Metering (Metering Cum Synchronizing) Synchronizing) Panel. The Auto-synchr Auto-synchronize onizerr sense phase voltage, frequency and phase sequence of both the incoming and running buses. The raise and lower frequency and Voltage are wired to the Governor and the AVR respectively. All the selector switches such as auto / manual, load rise / low, voltage rise / low, test / run, live/dead bus selection are made available at generator MCS panel. After matching all the above variables, the breaker closure command is given by auto synchronizer. 2.2
Manual Synchronization
Manual synchronization shall be facilitated in the generator MCS panels. After matching all the variables Viz Frequency/ Voltage/ Phase angle the breaker closure command is given by Synchronization Relay. The panel will have dead bus / live bus selection with synchro-check relay etc. 2.3
Synchronization Se Sequence
The Following Breakers can be synchronized either in Auto mode or in Manual mode, • • • •
Unit-1 Generator breaker 52-11 Unit-1 auxiliary transformer breaker 52-13 Unit-2 Generator breaker 52-12 Unit-2 auxiliary transformer breaker 52-14
The basic basic assump assumptio tion n of Synchr Synchroni onizat zation ion is the Line Line (LILO (LILO)) will will be charged and the grid will be made available till the Tannex substation. Initial Start Up:
