1. What do you mean by Version Version and how you create it? Version is nothing but a backup of drawing. Sppid version 2009 sp2 Go to drawing manager, select the drawing, go to p roperties select the version and create it by giving a comment.
2. How to update a drawing. Go to drawing manager, select the drawing, go to p roperties select the update drawing option and go for it.
3. How to add a Template, Image & Auxiliary graphics. Go to P&ID, go to edit, go to insert object and select the required template and select ok by un highlighting the link option. Go to P&ID, go to edit, go to insert image and select the required image and select ok. Go to P&ID, go to edit, go to insert Auxiliary graphics, do the need full and close auxiliary graphics.
4. How to recreate a drawing. Go to Tools, Tools, go to customize, select the Recreate drawing .DLL file and run it.
5. How to place multiple Representations. Go to E.D.E. select equipment category cate gory,, highlighting other drawings, filter the required equipment & place it in the drawing by using multiple Representation option.
6. Use of OPC’s and how to avoid the Duplicate OPC’s. Go to E.D.E. select OPC category cate gory,, check for the required OPC of particular drawing number & identification tag , and then place p lace it in the drawing, (If you don’t don’t have the required OPC in the E.D.E. you have to pla place ce the new one from catalog explorer.)
7. How to create Loop’s. Go to Instrument in catalog explorer & select Loops, choose the required function, update up date the Sequence number & send it to stock pile.
8. Differentiate Primary & Secondary pipes. Primary lines are nothing but main lines looks thick in the drawing. Whereas secondary lines are branch lines looks thin in drawing.
9. about display sets. Go to Apply display set, choose the required filter & select ok, after d oing the needful clear the display filter. filter.
10. How to generate Reports. Go to Reports in Menu bar, select Plant reports, choose the required report (Line list, Equipment list, instrument list), unselect the option of include items in stock pile & select ok.
11. How to use segment breaks. If any line properties are differentiating on a pipe run or at header and branch, break the run apply segment break and differentiate the properties. (No need of breaking the run at header & branch connection, we can directly apply the break.)
12. How you place Equipment components in a drawing (e.g.: Tray, Nozzle). As per software Equipment components wont place in the drawing directly. We have to place it by highlighting it to the required equipment and should move it to the required place by holding alt button. (It won’t move by using move option just like equipments and other piping & instrument components).
13. How you differentiate Instrumentation component & piping componen t. Instruments will have Identification tag or balloon tag where as piping won’t have identification tags. 14. Use of Engineering Editor. To update of check whether all item tags are updated to all Equipments, Pipe run’s and Instruments. (and also can use to check for required OPC’s)
15. How to avoid Duplicate Loop’s. Initially we have to check whether required loop has been created by any person or not by using Loop function properly of an instrument. If required loop is already created/ available we have to use it otherwise we have to create it. (By using this we can avoid duplicate loop).
16) Provide list of valve types with their symbols, at least 5? Two way common, Two way other, Three way, Four way, and an gle valve.
17). Provide list of some equipment types with their symbols, a t least 5? Shell and tube exchangers, cooling towers, vessels, pumps
18). Provide list of some instrument types with their symbols, at least 10? Flow instruments, orifices, silencers, relief devices, actuators
19). Provide list of some pipe and piping components/ special piping components with their symbols, at least 10?
20). Describe the P&ID in detail; also describe the process of drafting a P&ID in SPPID software in detail?
21) What is the difference between OFF line and IN-LINE.? IN-LINE :- Flow instruments, Orifices, Silencers & Valves (Angle valves & Pressure safety valves (Relief valves) OFF-LINE :- Functions, With Implied components (Already created identifications tags), Without Implied components (we have to send to stockpile give the identification tags).
22) What is the use of System Editing.? To transfer the parent component properties to the child components. Ex. Pipe to valve, pipe to other component.
