(/. 0he "undalini Sha"ti whi#h resides in these nadis in the shape of a serpent has ten nadis above and ten nadis below her. (. Out of total twent+ C four nadis &two groups of nadis going on ea#h side in obli>ue = slanting dire#tion' out of them ten are spe#iall+ important as the + #ontain the flow of ten va+us. (2. 3rom the nadis mentioned earlier ten are primar+ and out of them Ida, Pingala, and Sushumana are the foremost. Ida is positioned on the left side of the bod+, Pingala on the right, Sushumna in the #entre, while Gandhari is in the left e+e. /;. -astijivha nadi is in the right e+e, Poosha in the right ear, Fashashwini in the left ear, and lambusha resides in the mouth. /1. ?uhu is in the linga &reprodu#tive organs' Shan"hini is in the anus area = part. 0hus, the ten foremost nadis of the bod+ reside in ten openings of the bod+. /!. 0he Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna are lo#ated in the prani# passage of the bod+. 0he above mentioned ten nadis reside in the subtle human bod+ &and not in the gross bod+'. /(. 0he ten primar+ nadis have been mentioned.
/. Samana is in the navel region. Ddana resides in the #entre of throat. 0he A+ana va+u pervades the whole human bod+. 0hus mentioned ten va+us are prominent. /2. 0he lo#ation of prana, pana, Samana, Ddana , and v+ana has been told.

22. uring the first three da+s of bright fortnight, the Ida Swara must flow first, and during the dar" fortnight the right prani# #hannel pingala must flow initiall+. 25. wise person must never let the moon swara flow during the night. Similarl+ the sun swara must be suppressed during da+time. 8+ pra#ti#ing in this manner dail+ and #ontinuousl+ one be#omes a +ogi. 26. uring the rise of pingala, the sun element is under one9s #ontrol. 0he moon is under #ontrol during Ida. 0he person who "nows the flow of Swaras in this manner #an #ontrol the universe in a se#ond. 27. If a da+ starts with lunar swara at sunrise and ends with the solar swara at sunset, then this #+#le of swaras produ#es man+ benefi#ial and auspi#ious effe#ts. If the #+#le of swaras is #ontrar+ to this then all the auspi#ious a#ts must be avoided during su#h period. 5;. 0he a#ts performed on Monda+, *ednesda+, 0hursda+ , and 3rida+ while the left Swara or Ida nadi is flowing endow su##ess in all auspi#ious deeds & more so if it is a bright fortnight'. 51. Similarl+, if right swara flows on Sunda+, 0uesda+, and Saturda+ then all deeds performed get a##omplished. Su##ess is inevitable if su#h deeds are performed during the dar"er fortnight&"rishan pa"sh'. Pattern of flow of Five Tattwas
5!. 0he air elements flows first of all in either nadis. 0hen follows the fire element, and then flows the earth element. 0he s"+ element is a#tive in the end. &ir tou#hes the sides of the nasal passage, 3ire tou#hes the top, *ater tou#hes the bottom of the nasal passage and arth flows in #entre of it'. 5(. 0he five tattwas arise and flow in the above mentioned se>uen#e for the duration of two: and:a:half ghadis &1 hour' in ea#h of the nadis separatel+. 5/. uring the time:span of one da+ and night &!/ hours', 1! @odia# transitions are said to o##ur. 0aurus, Han#er, Airgo, S#orpio, Hapri#orn, and Pis#es o##ur B transit during the flow of Ida. 0hese @odia# signs are #onsidered to be of moon &dominated'. 5. ries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius and >uarius o##ur and transit during the flow of solar swara pingala, and the+ are #onsidered to be sun dominated. One must determine the auspi#ious and inauspi#ious result via the rise of swaras in the right nadi.
52. 0he moon resides in the &represents' ast and uire the "nowledge of the subtlest and diffi#ult subje#ts. Hontraril+, during the flow of lunar Swara, the "nowledge of above mentioned subje#ts #annot be a#>uired. 6(. Starting from the first four ghadis of morning if the flow of Swaras is opposite, e.g. if the lunar Swara flows during the time of solar Swara then the results are unfavourable. 6/. In su#h a flow of Swaras, the mind is perturbed during the 1st ghadi. In the !nd ghadi the wealth gets destro+ed4 in the (rd, travel or movement ensues4 in the /th ghadi, there is a loss of dear things. 6. uring the th ghadi, there is the loss of one9s state=provin#e4 disease and death o##ur during the 5th4 and death during the 6th ghadi. 0hus is the result of opposite or reverse Swaras. 62. If the opposite Swara flow for eight su##essive da+s during all three periods &morning, noon and night' then bad results o##ur. little redu#tion or irregularit+ in this is good.
65. If the lunar Swara flows during morning and noon, and the solar Swara during evening &dus"', then one gets vi#tor+ dail+. If the Swaras flow in the opposite manner, there is loss B defeat and one must avoid almost ever+thing during su#h period. 66. If the left or right Swara is a#tive along with partiall+ a#tive Sushumna, then one must start journe+ b+ putting the #orresponding foot forward to a#hieve su##ess. 67. *hile starting a journe+, one must put left foot forward if the moon swara is a#tive and right foot if sun Swara is a#tive to ensure su##ess. 7; *hile getting up after sleeping if one tou#hes that side #hee" whi#h #orresponds to the a#tive Swara with the palm of same hand one gets the desired fruit. 71 t the time of giving or re#eiving an+thing or going out of house, using the same hand or foot whi#h is on the side of a#tive Swara is best. 7! 8+ a#ting in su#h a manner, one is free from #onfli#t, loss, destru#tion and affli#tion b+ enemies. One is relieved of all the troubles and returns home merril+. 7(. *hile sitting with Guru&s', "ing, brother, minister and other benefi#ial person, one must "eep them towards the side of a#tive Swara for attaining auspi#ious effe#ts. 7/. 0o over#ome an enem+, #ommit theft, while igniting the fire, while #ommitting unrighteous deeds one must "eep the person or obje#t on the side of non:a#tive Swara. 7. Some people believe that journe+s to far off lands must be underta"en=started while the flow of lunar Swara, while the journe+ &s' to nearb+ lands is to be underta"en during the solar Swara. 72. *hatever has been mentioned till now regarding war and benefits undoubtedl+ #omes to pass when the respe#tive Swaras are a#tivel+ flowing. 75. *hile the flow of Shun+a nadi &Sushumna', the above mentioned a#tions li"e wars, battles, and other benefi#ial deeds=a#tions be#ome futile. 0his has been mentioned b+ Lord Shiva himself and thus, a gospel truth. 76. uring the flow of $Purna Swara%, performan#e of a#tivities li"e punishing the wi#"ed, imparting "nowledge, #ommitting fraud, fa#ing an angr+ master, #ommitting theft, et#. bear terribl+ horrifi# results.
77. 0he lunar Swara is benefi#ial for starting long journe+s. It ensures su##ess without obsta#les. 0he solar Swara is benefi#ial for a#tivities li"e entering a house. 1;;. 0he flow of Swaras #an ma"e an in#apable and in#ompetent person full+ #apable and #ompetent and vi#e:versa. s all the beings are under the #ontrol of the results of their previous "armas, therefore, the+ must a#t a##ording to the flow of Swaras li"e Sushumna. 1;1. 0he a#tive lunar Swara #an a#t even as an antidote to poison. 0he a#tive solar Sara is benefi#ial for bringing the powerful under the #ontrol. *hile the third Swara &Sushumna' bestows liberation. 0hus, one God has threefold fun#tions and eisten#e. 1;!. 0he nadis must flow a##ording to the nature of wor"&s' to be performed throughout da+ and night. If the Swaras are made to flow as per the nature of wor" e.g. then lunar Swara for auspi#ious wor" and Solar Swara for inauspi#ious then su##ess in all ventures is assured. 1;(. *hile performing worship, penan#e, and other stable and permanent a#tions and giving long:lasting results, while wearing jeweller+, starting journe+ to far:off lands, while performing one dharma&s' throughout four stages of life C namel+ $8rahm#har+a% eliba#+', $Grahastha% &house holder9s life', $Aanaprastha% &Going to jungle, mountain or far off land to lead a spiritual life= and $San+ara% &formal de#laration renun#iation of world and the performan#e of rituals atta#hed therewith' C and while #olle#ting the Ida nadi provides optimum results. 1;/. *hile digging ponds and well, digging a pole, #onse#rating &ritualisti#all+' the image=idol of a deit+, giving donation, journe+ing, marr+ing, wearing #lothes, jeweller+, and other de#orative arti#les, the flow of ida is benefi#ial. 1;. Performing a#tivities pertaining to pea#e:establishment, a#>uiring nourishment from divine herbs and #hemi#als, meeting one9s master, befriending someone, doing business a#tivities, and #olle#ting food:grains, ida is auspi#ious. 1;2. *hile entering a new house, doing servi#e, sowing and farming, doing auspi#ious deeds, forming allian#es and treaties, and while leaving for a journe+, Ida is auspi#ious. 1;5. 3or starting studies or resear#h, seeing brothers and relatives in birth and death, in dharmi# deeds, for getting spiritual invitation &$ee"sha%', for perfe#ting one9s mantra, Ida is the best.
1;6. 3or learning Sutras &verses' pertaining to the S#ien#e and "nowledge of time &past, present and future', bringing #attle and pets to home, treating in#urable and deadl+ disease, and addressing one9s master.
1;7. Mounting an elephant or a horse, t+ing them &or putting them in their stables', learning the art of ar#her+, doing #haritable servi#es, #olle#ting wealth. 11;. Singing, pla+ing musi#al instruments, dan#ing, stud+ing the art of dan#e, drama, and other aestheti# a#tivities, entering a #it+ or village, appl+ing tila", bu+ing land. 111. 3a#ilitating, helping, pa#if+ing the ones having sorrows, sufferings, fever, ailments or who are un#ons#ious, intera#ting with relatives and master&s'Jand for #olle#ting wood and grains. 11!. O Parvati Ida is also benefi#ial for women9s dental de#oration, for the arrival of rain, for worshipping Guru, and for removing the effe#ts of poison. 11(. 0he a#ts li"e pra#ti#e of +oga are espe#iall+ fruitful during the flow of Ida. 8ut su#h a#ts must be avoided if fire, air or ether elements are a#tive and flowing therewith Ida &0he above mentioned a#ts are fruitful during the flow of Ida onl+ if earth and water elements are also a#tive'. 11/. ll good a#ts during da+ and night fru#tif+ during the flow of Ida. In fa#t, the lunar Swara is best for doing all auspi#ious a#tivities. 11. *hile learning or tea#hing #ruel "nowledges and arts, while meeting women and prostitutes &for seual purposes', boarding a large ship, pingala flow is benefi#ial. 112. It is benefi#ial for wi#"ed a#ts li"e drin"ing Sura &wine', pra#ti#ing diffi#ult $vir% &tantri#' mantras and performing su#h "ind of worship, destro+ing the #ountr+ &enem+' in a state of unrest, and poisoning the enem+. 115. Pra#ti#ing the s#riptures, journe+ing, selling or bu+ing #attle, ma"ing bri#"s, wood and jeweller+ b+ #utting grinding and polishing. 116. Pra#ti#ing the use of weapons, +antras, and tantra, #limbing a fort or a mountain summit, gambling, stealing, while mounting and #ontrolling an elephant, horse, a #hariot and other vehi#les. 117. *hile eer#ising, performing si a#ts of bla#" magi# li"e $Maran% and $D#h#hatan% &"illing and emotionall+ destabili@ing the enem+ through rituals', while over#oming the etra: terrestrial beings li"e ghosts, $Fa"shas% and $Fa"shinis% &demigods', $Aetal% &evil spirits', and the effe#ts of poison, Pingala in auspi#ious.
1!;. *hile "eeping a don"e+, #amel, buffalo, while mounting an elephant or a horse, while #rossing a river or pond, ta"ing medi#ines, healing one self or others, and while writing, alphabets Pingala &solar' nadi is the best. 1!1. 0he a#ts li"e $Maran% bla#", $Mohan%, $Stambhan% $D#ha#hatan% &"illing, en#hanting, paral+@ing, respe#tivel+, via bla#" magi#', #ontrolling others b+ rituals of bla#" magi#, inspiriting, attra#ting, being enraged, giving donations, and bu+ing and selling. 1!!. ttra#ting evil spirits, bearing mali#e, getting rid of enemies, using sword while battling the enem+, having sensual pleasures, meeting the "ing, eating, bathing, performing formal and behavioural tas"s and doing outstanding and shining deeds is best a##omplished during the flow of Pingala. 1!(. 0he wise must perform the a#ts li"e eating, pleasing the senses, a#tivating the appetite, womani@ing, and sleeping during the solar Swara flow. 1!/. ll "inds of harsh, #ruel, deeds involving versatilit+ and d+namism are su##essful during the flow of Pingala nadi. 1!. If ida &lunar' Swara flows during one moment and Pingala &Solar' Swara flows during the se#ond then su#h a flow of Swaras is #alled Sushumna flow. ?now and remember that su#h destro+s the fruit of all a#tivities. 1!2. 0he fire of destru#tion is said to be residing in the Sushumna nadi. ?now it to be the poison, destro+er of all the a#tions. 1!5. If Ida and Pingala nadis flow irregularl+ violating their flow then the #onse>uen#es arising there from are inauspi#ious without an+ doubt. 1!6. *hen the Swara flow through Ida at one moment and through Pingala at the other then su#h a se>uen#e of flow is said to be adverse. O Godess of boons, during su#h time the undesired results for all a#tivities ensue. 1!7. 0he wise sa+ that the simultaneous flow of both the Swaras is li"e the effe#ts of poison. ll a#tions, whether auspi#ious or inauspi#ious, good or bad, right or wrong are to be avoided during su#h times as the+ are not su##essful. 1(;. 0he >uestion of life and death, profit and loss, vi#tor+ and defeat and su#h subje#ts must be forgotten during the adverse flow of Swaras &Sushumna'. uring su#h time one must meditate and remember onl+ the God of Dniverse.

Kest of the a#tivities &pertaining to profit or loss, and selfishness and self:interest are to be avoided'. 1(!. If the Sushumna Swara9s is intermingled with the flow of Pingala then both blessing and #ursing are ineffe#tive. 1((. uring the transition of Swaras and tatwas no wor", with the e#eption of #haritable deeds involving possession of merit, is to be done. 1(/. uring the flow of irregular Swara one must not even mentall+ thin" of doing an+thing regarding travel. 0ravel is perilous and ha@ardous at su#h time, and ma+ result even in death, have no doubts about it. 1(. If the breath in lunar Swara flows towards front and upwards and right then it is must be #onsidered as &Poorna' a #omplete Swara. If the Swara breath in Solar Swara is going down, ba#"ward, and right then it is to be #onsidered as $Poorna% omplete' Solar Swara. Otherwise the Swaras are said to be empt+. 0his "nowledge of dis#erning the full &$poorna%' and empt+ &$ri"ta%' Swara must be possessed b+ the wise. 1(2. If a messenger arrives from left, front, or higher &upper' sides during the lunar Swara flow9 and from ba#"wards, right or sitting downwards then it is auspi#ious. 1(5. If one remains without food during the flow of adverse nadi Sushumna, and if in su#h a state he a#>uires #omplete absorption with the element that is subtlest and be+ond the be+ond, then su#h merging is "nown as $Sandh+a% b+ the wise. 1(6. s per the Swardoda+a S#ien#e, the Aedas are not the #elebrated and renowned tets, as we "now them. 0hat, whi#h a#tivel+ aids the reali@ation of and absorption with supreme soul Paramatman is the real Aeda. 1(7. Sandh+a is just not $Sandhi% &meeting' of da+ B night. *hen the previousl+ errati# prana starts to flow in Sushumna nadi, then it is the real Sandhi. 1/;. If the shape formed on mirror is a s>uare or >uadrangle it indi#ates earth element, #res#ent moon indi#ates water, a triangle indi#ates fire, and a #ir#le indi#ates air.

If a >uestion is as"ed b+ someone during the flow of solar and lunar swara and the >uestioner is on the same side whi#h #orresponds to the a#tive Swara then there is no affli#tion=injur+ to the bod+. !5. 8+ fa#ing the same dire#tion and fighting in the same dire#tion that #orresponds to the a#tive Swara one9s vi#tor+ is assured. 0here is no need to thin" otherwise. !6. 0he invading armies of enemies is defeated and #on>uered if the lunar Swara of the general = ?ing of invaded #ountr+ is flowing. !7. 0he "ing of invading arm+ #on>uers the Gods, demons, and human if he battles during the flow of solar Swara. !2;. 0he invader is defeated during the flow or Lunar Swara. -e a#>uires territor+ during Sushumna9s flow and is vi#torious during the flow of Pingala. !21. uring the flow of $Poorna Swara% if >uestion regarding battle is as"ed b+ two persons then the first to as" >uestion is vi#torious while the se#ond is #on>uered b+ his enem+. *hereas, during the flow of $Shoon+a Swara% if >uestion=s regarding battle is as"ed b+ two persons, the first to as" is #on>uered and #aptured, and the se#ond to as" the >uestion is vi#torious. !2!. If one goes to the battle field during the flow of $Poorna &full+ a#tive' Swara then his =her enem+ es#apes from the battlefield during $Shoon+a losed' Swara he battles. If the enem+ is "ept b+ him towards the side of $shoon+a% losed' Swara then the enem+ definitel+ is "illed. !2(. If a >uestioner #omes from the left side during the flow of Ida &lunar' nadi and as"s >uestion regarding vi#tor+ et#. then C if the total sum of all the letters of that >uestion in even &li"e !,/,2 et#.' then su##ess is there. If the sum total of all the alphabets=letters is odd &1,(,' then loss and defeat o##ur. !2/. If a >uestion regarding battle=war is as"ed during the flow of Ida then there must be a #ompromise. If the >uestion is as"ed during Pingala9s flow then battle must happen. !2. If a battle is started during the flow of earth element then the result of battle &loss, defeat, vi#tor+ gains' will more or less be e>ual for both the sides. Ai#tor+ is assured during the flow of water element, during the dominan#e of fire there is a loss of bod+9s organ, and during the dominan#e of air or ether death ensues. !22. If, due to mental disturban#e=in#apa#it+ or, for an+ other reason, one does not "now about the flow of his Swara, he must a#t in the following manner. !25. *ith single:minded #on#entration one must drop a flower from his hand. 0hat side of the bod+ where the flower lands is the side of $Poorna% &full+ a#tive' Swara. 0he other side is the side of $Shoon+a% Swara.
!26. If, while standing or sitting, one draws in his Prana with #omplete #on#entration and steadiness of mind he is su##essful ever+where in all the a#tivities. !27. If one is stable, established, and firm &i.e. meditating intensel+' during the flow of Sushumna then death, time, various dangerous and horrible weapons, sna"es, enemies, thieves, and an+ troubles and tribulations are unable to #ause an+ trouble to him. !5;. One must mediate upon the $iva% &his own self or $atman%' . Dpon its #reation right from the beginning, to its establishment in the human bod+ via the support and movement of $Aa+u% C the air element. !56. *hosoever puts his a#tive Swara in the a#tive Swara of a woman and then inhales her a#tive Swara with his a#tive Swara and thereb+ puts it into his $anahata Hha"ra% #ontrols the soul of that woman. !57. man who drin"s the Sushumna Swara of a lad+ while she is asleep during the last three hours of night, #aptivates her. !6;. If a man gives his lunar Swara to a woman after her Sushumna Swara has ended while, simultaneousl+, #hanting, the eight s+llable mantra &Om ues the lustful man #an #aptivate and bewit#h all women. 0his method of en#hantment and #aptivation of women must not be dis#losed to an+one. 0his is m+ #ommand. !65. (; 0he Sushumna nadi is #ruel and adverse for all a#tivities. If one performs an+ "ind of a#tivit+ during its flow &e#ept +oga Sadhna', he inevitabl+ suffers affiliations li"e destru#tion of #ountr+, epidemi#s, sorrows, sufferings, et#. (;2. 0he "nowers of tatwa must eamine the swaras during sun9s transition into the #onstellation of ries. nd the+ must predi#t the +ear9s forth#oming events a##ordingl+. (;5. If the earth or water element is pre:dominant during this time then the results are auspi#ious. If fire, air, or ether element is dominant then the results are inauspi#ious. 0hus, one must #al#ulate the pro#eedings of da+s, months, and +ear to #ome. (;6. If the earth element is a#tive and dominant during this time then there will be an abundan#e of food, superior farming, greater +ield, prosperit+, and overall development of the #ountr+. (17 If a >uestioner #omes during Solar Swara and sa+s a terrible thing ®arding patient9s disease' then also he will survive. Su#h is the result while the lunar swara is flowing. (!1 If the >uestioner as"s about the well being of a patient while the solar or lunar Swara of the answerer is just entering his bod+ and if the >uestioner is fa#ing the people sitting there then the patient gets well.
(!! If the >uestioner9s standing level is below the level of $ivanga% of the answerer then the patient survives. Otherwise #onsider him dead. (!( If the >uestioner sits towards the $shoon+a% nadi% losed swara' and utters #onfusing words, and appears in a #onfused state, and the swara is flowing errati#all+ then adverse results are to be epe#ted. (!/ If the prana of the answerer is flowing in the lunar swara and the >uestioner is sitting towards the solar swara then inspite of being surrounded b+ hundreds of do#tors the patient will die. (! If the >uestioner is sitting towards left and the answerers solar swara is flowing then the patient &about whom the >uestion is as"ed' dies even if Lord Shiva himself #omes and tries to save him. (!2 If one element flows errati#all+ then disease #omes. If two elements flow errati#all+ then one has to fa#e separation from friends, brothers, and relatives. If the same swara flows throughout the da+ and night then su#h person dies within three +ears.
(((. If the Solar Swara of a person flows for two #onse#utive da+s and nights in#essantl+ then he dies within two +ears. Su#h has been said b+ "nowers of tattwas &prophets'. ((/. 0hese prophets sa+ that if the same swara flows for three #onse#utive da+s and nights then su#h person dies within an +ear. ((. If the solar swara of a person flows during the da+ and his lunar swara flows at the night, #ontinuousl+ then "now that he will be dead in si months time. Signs of impending !eath

If the refle#tion of sun is seen #ut, missing or fading towards the south then death #omes in si months & for the observer', if seen #ut, fading , or missing towards western dire#tion then death #omes in three months 4 if in east death #omes within one month 4 if the sun9s refle#tion seems to have a hole in its #entre then the observer will die within ten da+s 4 if sun appears to be #overed with smo"e then the observer dies on the same da+. 0he omnis#ient sages have said this. Sin#e this bod+ is a means of $dharma% &righteous #ondu#t' $artha% &a##umulation of wealth', $?ama% &enjo+ment of the pleasures of the senses' and $mo"sha% &liberation, freedom from the #+#le of birth, death and rebirth' therefore it must be preserved. 8+ pra#ti#e of +oga one must remove all the ph+si#al faults and ailments. (62. +ogi whose minds get stead+ and thoughtless even for one $Fama% &three hours' a#>uires the power of seeing, "nowing, and eperien#ing the entire universe through his e+es.
