1.1 SACS Release 5.3.1 V8i Overview SACS 5.3.1 V8i is an feature feature equivalent version of SACS 5.3 Service Pack 2 with the exception exc eption of Precede Prece de (bug fixes and enhancements) and Dynpac Dynpac which contains c ontains a bug fix. The The main objective of o f this release is to transition to Bentley's SELECT licensing system. system.

A new Report Generator module which allows the users to extract results from the common solution file and generate reports has also been added.

· Corrected a problem where the pile increments were not restricted to elastic when the inertial properties defined by the user did not match the calculated values based upon the cross section geometry.

Damage center utility now works when using a dedicated analysis server directory.

Fatigue Release 5.3.1 V8i (Service Pack 2) Enhancements
· Added DNV C203 2008 inline tube SCF option 'DN3' where the value for beta is a function of D/T1 instead of being treated as a constant value of 2.5. · Enhanced program to allow user defined misalignment ratio, maximum out-of roundness allowances and thickness transition slope associated with in-line tubular SCF calculations for the DnV-RP-C203 2005(DN2) and DnV-RP-C203 2008 (DN3) codes by defining these parameters on the fTOPT3 input line.
Service Pack 2 Corrections
· Corrected a problem where the ring stiffened SCF factors at the inner edge locations were incorrect. ·
Corrected a run timer error that occurred for members having stiffened cylinder sections.
· Corrected a problem where the 'NSC' option to remove short can effects was being ignored when defined on the CONRST input line. · Corrected a problem where the MODSEL line did not function for wind spectrum fatigue analysis.

Updated inline SCF override to apply to cones.
· Added SCF overriding feature for BOX members, using new CONSBX line to override SCF at each stress component. · Changed default validity check option when parameters are outside range of validity for Efthymiou SCF to use the maximum SCF determined from actual parameters and the limiting parameters. The default was to use the actual parameters to determine SCF without considering limiting parameters. ·
Implemented all the S-N curves based on ISO 19902 Section 16.11.1.
· The Damage Center module now supports user defined S-N curves and the current API edition S-N curves. ·

The initial ring spacing calculation has been enhanced to force the program to use Ch=0.44D/t

The number of dummy structures has been increased from 7 to 100
· A consistent approach is now employed to determine the water depth and mud line elevation overrides for load case where multiple values have been defined for different load types within the same load case. ·
The internal unit conversion calculation accuracy has been refined to a higher precision.
Release 5.3 Corrections
·
Corrected issue with LCFAC lines where more than one load case is on a LCFAC line.
· Corrected problem with transfer function GNTRF lines when the generated wave height is less than one foot. · Corrected problem where if the user specified 'AL' on the WAVE line and left the number of wave steps blank or zero. ·
Updated dummy structure KEEP joint message to indicate 40 keep joints allowed.
· Increased the accuracy of internal wave height calculation when create transfer function to eliminate the irregular transfer function curve if too many wave period points defined.

· Corrected the problem in water depth override: If the distance from the mudline in current profile is defined by ratio and the water depth has been overridden in WAVE line, program didn't pick up the water depth override in the WAVE line, instead the depth in LDOPT line was adopted. · Corrected issue where program was ignoring the chord angle when reference joint defined so the member load calculation was incorrect. · Corrected a problem where the marine growth calculation was based upon the wrong segment length for a near horizontal member located close to a marine growth change elevation. · Corrected a problem where the unit label in “Joint Loads Due to Area Loading” report was incorrect when “MN” units were selected. · Corrected a problem where the number of basic and combined load cases was reported incorrectly for the case where the model contained moving loads.
StruCAD to SACS Convertor Release 5.3 Corrections
· Corrected a problem where the StruCAD to SACS convertor didn’t work in certain cases because the T-Z header had a 1.0 Z value multiplier.
Super Element Tow Release 5.3.1 V8i (Service Pack 2) Correction
· Corrected a problem where the RAO generated loads were wrong when the tow X axis defined surge and roll conditions.
Release 5.3 Enhancements
· The motion line has been updated to use include or exclude structural weight only from column 78. “LO” option in column 27-28 of TOWOPT line does not affect this. · ACCEL, MOTN, WAVEDEF and WAVE line have been updated to use include or exclude structural weight only from column 75. “LO” option at column 27-28 of TOWOPT does not affect this. · ACCL and LCRAO lines have been updated to read the structural weight option from column 27-28 of the TOWOPT line only.
