SACS System Lifting Analysis Preparation 1. Under “Training Project”, create “Lifting” subdirectory 2. Under “Lifting” directory, create “Normal” and “7525” subdirectories 3. Copy SACINP.DAT model file from “Static PSI” directory to “Normal” directory and rename to SACINP.DECK. Normal Lifting Analysis under “Normal” directory 1. Modifying deck model file for lifting analysis. Delete all the joints and members below Z = 4.00 m, so only deck structure left. Using “Misc” > “Check Model” and delete all unused member group labels. After the jacket structure is deleted the weights on the jacket structure are deleted also. Delete surface weight LIVE.
2. Modifying the SeaState input file. Delete HYDRO cards, marine growth and group override cards, all wave load cases, and the load case containing the weight group of LIVE. Add a load case DEAD which includes the DEAD cards.

SACS System Create three load combinations: 1) Load case L001 – combine the structural dead weight with add surface weights; 2) Load case L002 – 1.35 times load case L001; 3) Load case L003 – 2.00 times load case L001. Select load case L001, L002, and L003 as output load cases. 3. Create a Seatate analysis run and run analysis. The total lifting weight is 4432.27 kN and the center of gravity is located at X=1.99m, Y= -0.18m and Z=21.1288m. 4. Add lifting slings into the deck lifting model The lifting joint will be set 18 meters high than main structural deck to keep the minimum sling angle greater than 60 deg. Add lifting joint 9999 at (1.99m, -0.18m, 41.0m) and set fixity = 111111. Connect joints 801L, 802L, 803L and 804L to joint 9999 with member group label SLG to add four lifting slings. Define member group SLG as tubular member with D = 15.0 cm and T = 7.49 cm, set the material density to 0.001 tons/m^3 to zero the weight of slings. Add spring support to restrain structural lateral movements: Add X and Y spring supports at joint 601L, add Y spring support at joint 602L and add X spring support at joint 603L. All spring rates will be set to 50 kN/m.

Browse for spring reactions and sling loads. Make adjustments to lifting point to reduce spring reactions and try member releases for sling loads if you don’t want to see the moments in sling loads. Add another lifting joint 9998, this joint will be 2 cm higher than 9999, change member connecting joints 801L-9999 to 801L-9998 and 804L-9999 to 804L-9998. Set joint fixity 9998 to 110111, and Add joint load Fz = 3324.20 kN (= 4432.27 x 0.75) to joint 9998 and set load condition to 75P. 2. Modify seastate input file: Modify three load combinations include 75P with the same factors as dead loads. 3. Create static analysis run file and run the analysis.
