This book has been written for the edification and enlightenment of the magical fraternity and others who wish to engage in the pastime of giving private readings, or fortunes...for entertain ment purposes purposes only. This work does not only endeavor to explain the ‘technique of the private reader’, but will prove a discourse on human nature. It will reveal that the average person passes thru a certain predetermined formula of occurrences in the span of their life from the cradle to the grave. A study of these trends thru which we wend our path enables one to foresee these events in the future, and to weave an interesting story about their approach and probable time of occurrence. The task of giving private readings is thus reduced to an easy problem if we possess such a formula and the means of securing additional hints and confirmations, as we weave a story of the past, present and future. The Technique of the Private Reader
SECTION ONE For the sake of clarity, this book will be divided into two separate classifications. First, will be considered the private reader who given a purely ‘Psychological’ or guess reading. A reading dealing with the past and future events of the individual’s life, and performed without recourse to any mechanical mechan ical means means or tricke trickery. ry. The psychological reading is a result of the reader’s ability to analyze, read or guess your characteristics, past and future events. Here he merely weaves a story of your life as you have known it in the past, and for what it may be in the future. If the reader is of any ability, he will present a reading (or apparently so) that may be conceded to be at least 90% correct! The second section of this book will deal with the reader who employs trickery to gain the information about which the reading is to be built. He does not depend on guess-work or his ability to read general characteristics, past and future events. He plays safe. Sure fire, and perhaps from a commercial standpoint, it is much the richer at the end of his career. However, each will be treated separately. The Psychological Reader Readers who employ no means of trickery to gain an idea of what importan important t phases phases the subject seeks informa information, tion, does not not attack this task wholly blind. They are keen and well versed in human nature.

manner. manner . Their proble problem m is not not so much much the the problem problem of divini divining ng the life of the subject before them, but to divine and understand human nature. There are certain facts, laws and routines thru which every human human being being passes. passes. With an an understandi understanding ng of these circumstances, their problem becomes less difficult with each step. However, at the outset, let me explain that some people are natural ‘readers’ while others find the game of guessing the thoughts and hopes of others an almost impossible task. This condition exists because the first class are born with a closer and better understanding of human nature. Either consciously or unconsciously they have attained the ability to understand other people. Further, many people are genuinely psychic and are able, by intuitive flashes, to give much startling information under such circumstances. The author does here express his opinion that many good readers are genuinely psychic. However, an explanation of this opinion is necessary to avoid misunderstanding. I do feel that many people are born, or develop a special trait that enables them to analyze others, and at times, are able to receive certain psychic flashes or thoughts that enable them to mystify and bewilder their clients. I do NOT think these ‘telepathic flashes’ are from any source connected with the deceased, but are thoughts...thoughts that are unconsciously sifted from the clients mind. My purpose will not be to try to explain any magical formula by which one can obtain certai certain n telepathic telepathic powers, or to be able able to

The Technique of the Private Reader
Private readers, with experience, gain such an ability. Radio astrologers, theatre mentalists and all in this allied field advise the public, find their ability to ‘guess more correctly’, increasing with every attempt. Whether Whethe r this abilit ability y to ‘sense’ ‘sense’ or know know more intima intimately tely those those with whom whom we come in in contact, contact, is a psychic psychic power, power, or if it is a result of your normal senses being developed as a result of past experience and knowledge gained in the past that enables logical comparisons to the present problems, I am not prepared to say. However, from whence the source, this condition does exist. Time and experience alone will develop it. The reader who endeavors to tell another about his past life and probable future for life, and makes a miserable failure, does so because of two reasons. He is either deluded in the belief that he is truly psychic and can tell others of past and future happenings with great accuracy. Instead of causing others to follow this belief, he accepts it selfishly, as the truth. There are many cases where the readers are absolutely sincere with themselv themselves es in this belief. belief. Natura Naturally, lly, the the informatio information n they impart to others is a result of pure imagination and worthless. The other type of ‘poor’ reader is one who has entered this field of endeavor for financial gain, and knows nothing of this task. In a haphazard way, the reader with no definite course to follow...spin, sputter, and flounder in their own weak and unconvincing line of talk. However, if this same person were to understand some of the fundamental laws of life, of cause and

The Purpose. The purpose of the reader is to be able to advise and help others in the solution of their problems. That there is such a place in this world for private readers cannot be denied, providing these individuals maintain the confidence invested in them, and are sincere in their desire to help others as well as to fill their own purse. Alas, such is seldom the case! However, we are not here concerned with the benefits or evils of this situation. The desire of one individual to seek another in the hopes and belief that future events can be foretold is age old and will last as long as humanity. The good and the evil will also exist. This book will guide many sincere people from the evil reader, and likewise by revealing the human interest angle, enable other readers and individuals as how to give helpful readings. The reader MUST cause his clients to think that he can reveal past and future events if he is to be successful. He must gain this false confidence, or mis-belief. Patronage would not seek the reader if his prospective clients did not at least possess some degree of confidence, or at least, hope. The Technique (Primary Analysis) Let us start here to study the technique of the private reader. To determine, for ourselves, how difficult, or easy the task of giving a psychological reading. Let us break down easy barriers, and simplify the task, step by step, by a careful analysis and

seek readers (and spend good money) as a lark, or they seek the private reader because they are worried about some problem, or problems. The first classification may be dismissed, as there are only a few cases of this type to be dealt with, and their appearance is usually a dead give-away. Surely, their later reactions will reveal the fact. The second classification may be divided into two types. The person seeking the reading has a real problem in mind, and wants assistance, and is a true believer in such work, else they would not spend their good money. The second type in this division is the person who has heard thru another, of the marvelous powers of the reader, and calls out of curiosity. They possess no real troubles, but usually have a background of dissatisfaction, or the reading is over. They come hoping to receive good news or fortune. However, 90% of these seeking private readers and fortune tellers are sincere individuals with a problem hurried deep in their mind or heart. They are interested in themselves, and NOT the reader, only to the extent of his helpfulness. The successful reader is aware of these unerring conditions, and naturally his first

The Technique of the Private Reader
The analysis begins. The subject is classified as to his station in life...wealthy, well to do, average circumstances, poor. A financial value is put on the prospective seeker of advice. Unless a deliberate attempt is made to ‘fool’ the reader, the task thus far has been extremely easy. An examination of the hands will reveal whether or not the person earns their ‘bread and butter’ by their hands...or by their brains. Hands, continually doing manual labor are not easily camouflaged. Soft, white hands, not used to such labor, tell still another story. The condition of the nails if the person is inclined to be neat, careful and considerate. Nails that are chewed and torn to the quick denote nervousness...in short, the reader makes a quick analysis of all of these features. In this way, he is able to make an an estimate estimate of the past past life of the individ individual, ual, and and from from there is in a better position to hazard a guess as to the FUTURE of this person. Now, enter the law of cause and effect! If certain circumstances has caused the subject to be in his present state, what is the probable effect the present circumstances are apt to have on future occurrences? The ease with which the subject enters the reader’s parlor may

is not difficult to ‘sense’ or guess when you are talking with a married man or woman. One might assume that everyone has a difference in problems, or different fortune, but such is not the case. All lives, the causes and effects, are more or less parallel. In fact, a half a dozen stock readings could be written in advance, and applied to the population, with very little variance. The subject is interested not in the minor things of life, but paramount issues. If we are to give such a reading, then we must determine in advance a few of these paramount issues. Almost without second thought, our judgment tells us the two most paramount thoughts in the lives of the average individual are LOVE and MONEY. Step by step, the individual is mentally disrobed, and the reader immediately comes into contact with the subject’s past life. The fact that the subject is a TOTAL stranger means little. In the face and appearance of every man, women and child an indelible story of their past life appears, and indicates as to a possible future existence. A closer relationship has been established. Immediately, the private reader’s problem becomes less complicated.

The Technique of the Private Reader
However, there are FOUR important phases in the life of any individual. They consist of HEALTH, WEALTH, LOVE and HAPPINESS. All questions, regardless of their number, must revert back to one of these four all-important subjects. The story of everyone’s life will be the story of their desire and acquirement of love, financial gain, health and happiness. It cannot vary in its chief ramifications. It is about these four phases of life that every private reader must weave stories. In order for the story be intelligent and logical, a study and analysis of these phases of life must be clearly understood. Thought and reflection upon them enables the reader to anticipate past and future events, and by the law of cause and effect, plus the law of average of past occurrences, is, in pretty good position to guess out the future of any individual’s life. The plan, naturally of the successful reader is not only to satisfy the subject on the occasion of the reading, but to accurately predict future events, which heighten his reputation and increase his wealth. An understanding of ‘cause and effect’ in the lives of people, gives us the information the reader will tell tell his client client. .

ferret out past events. People who seek readers are MORE thoroughly convinced by learning of past events, than the future, because they possess that definite knowledge, while the predictions have yet to materialize. Each of these classifications have other sub-divisions, but they are the major spheres of life. Love and wealth covers the greatest number of problems, therefore their importance is greatest. THE FOUR PHASES OF LIFE (Analysis and Facts to be Remembered) LOVE Love is either desired or possessed. If desired, the questions concerns the probability of marriage and when. If already possessed, should denote happiness and domestic tranquility. Possessed love, if true, naturally seeks a continuance of such circumstances. This is followed by desire for a home, property and a family. Since love is possessed, one or two things happen. It either works, and continues continues unabat unabated, ed, or else, it does not ‘work’, ‘work’, and

It is not difficult to tell the type of man that has a heart problem, by appearance. I do not mean that they ‘look’ different, but they seem to throw off this thought.
