Project Brief Summary The project aims to propose an automatic hand sanitizer stations in the most commonly visited areas in school. Automatic Hand Sanitizer is an enhanced and modern type of dispenser of a liquid/gel that contains antimicrobial substance. It is a touch-free dispenser that prevents the multiplication of bacteria that can cause common infections. II. PROJECT PROPOSAL PROPER A. Introduction Cebu Institute of Technology - University is committed to provide its students and faculty with the best learning and working environment possible. The school has been working to improve itself since then and aims
to provide a safe environment for its visitors, students, and faculty. The students of CIT-U believe that their school does provide a safe and environment by providing the school facilities. And as students of this University we would like to contribute something for the development of the school. With this project, this will help to improve the health of the students, faculty and staff by reducing the disease transmission since it will be touch free. Unlike ordinary hand sanitizer dispensers we still need to push the button for the liquid to come out. This could still be not germ free. Which can re-contaminate further and cannot be removed by just any soap. We are planning to implement changes that will benefit future classes of students throughout the school for years to come. B. Rationale As we all know, sanitation problems continue to pervade our country, particularly in schools. Hands are considered to be the main way of communicable diseases, because of our frequently contact with hands and any surfaces of some areas. Mostly to us, students when using the same comfort rooms, eating and living areas. The opportunity for coming in contact with a pathogen is more likely to happen. Flu, colds, coughs and infections are the most common diseases that we can easily get which can actually affect our health. That’s why hand washing is introduced to us since it is the most effective routine and primary way of preventing diseases. However, we tend to forget washing our hands sometimes; we tend to think that it is very time consuming that often prevent us from doing the regular washing routine.
Which tends us to do the speed washing technique. And also when there is a lack of sanitation facilities such as soap and water. One of the ways to improve the student’s and staff’s sanitation is to install an automatic hand sanitizer stations in the most commonly visited areas such as the comfort rooms and canteens. Traditional hand washing with soap and water is primarily considered to be the best implementation. However, automatic hand sanitizers are more convenient, particularly to student-life. Their use requires no water or paper towels and even touch free. It may have a higher cost than the bottled one but can save greatly on product and maintenance costs by requiring less refills and creating less waste. C. Project Description The automatic hand sanitizer can be effectively placed in the very accessible locations in school. One hand sanitizer dispenser in every restroom exits, one in each canteens and one in the clinic. The dispenser at each restroom exit will encourage students, faculty and staff to eliminate any microorganisms on their hands after using the restroom facilities. The other dispenser encourages regular hand cleansing. Particularly, when the students lean or touch the table. By

improvement not just in student’s health but also to the faculty and staff. The students also of CIT-U will improve academically as a result of decreased illness and absence. For that, the university will have a better performance.
Overall, the Installation of Automatic Hand Sanitizer proposal will benefit the university. D. Objectives To provide a safe and clean environment for the students, faculty and staffs To promote healthy students, faculty and staff To prevent spreading of germs that causes infection To provide a hassle-free sanitizer E. Significance It is very essential to know the importance of proper hygiene and sanitation. Proper hygiene is paramount to good health. Automatic hand sanitizer is said to be the appropriate alternative to hand washing.
It could also control measure against microbes, further
creates an even more sterile environment. Many studies had shown that it made lots of improvements in the schools of the other countries. Wherein, they tested the efficiency of hand sanitizers against standard hand washing in reducing illness. Therefore, this project will lead to a healthy learning and working environment for students, faculty and staff in the University. F.
