INTRODUCTION Internship or on the job training is one way by which we students are given an opportunity to apply the theories and computations that we have learned from school. It also helps us to obtain applicable knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. Colleges and universities require their students to undergo such training within a specific number of hours as part of the curriculum. For us students, an OJT or internship program provides opportunities to go through the actual methodologies of a specific job using the real tools, equipment and documents. In effect, the work place becomes a development venue for us student trainee to learn more about our chosen field and practice what we have learn from academy. On the other hand, a valuable OJT program also profits the companies who accept trainees. First OJT or intern provides extra manpower for a less significant labor cost than a regular employee. Most of them are all eager to learn the ropes so chances are high that they’ll be given a chance to work on the same company as an employee after graduating. Employers can use this internship strategy as method in recruiting employees. Since the trainer or supervisor can follow the trainees’ progress, he can gauge based on performance, behavior and attitude if the trainee will make good recruit after the completion of his internship. We trainees can bring fresh ideas into the organization. Given the opportunity to converse our minds freely and without fear, we may be able to contribute significantly in brainstorming sessions or research and eventually help improve the organizations productivity. While training the interns, employers are in fact also teach their employees to guide the trainees by stretching their patience, develop teaching skills and make them more sensitive to the needs and mind set of the younger generation. The course of supervision also teaches them how to share what they know and be receptive to questions. Hence, the internship also becomes an avenue in training for future managers of the company.

III. SUMMARY OF THE OJT EXPERIENCE Luxent Hotel requires OJTs to rotate in their different departments and also, their minimum required total hours of training is 400 hours that’s why I had a chance to experience the training in their Housekeeping Department. I had my first 100 hours there. I met their room attendants, their different staffs, also, the Executive Housekeeper Mr. John Delos Santos and
their Housekeeping coordinators. At first, I was very shy and I am adjusting to my new environment. Especially, living in Manila away from the province. The employees in the hotel were very kind. In my first day, the housekeeping Team Leader 3, Mr. Bejay Trinidad oriented me about the basics in the hotel. The different name of the places in the hotel, the different locations of the guest’s areas and entertainment areas. In the housekeeping department, I’ve learned to use an actual vacuum for the room carpet. In my first 3 days in the hotel, I was assigned at the lobby area and the guest’s comfort rooms. At first it was very difficult for me because my feet hurts. I need to stand up all day. We are not allowed to loiter around the hotel. After 3 days, I was already assigned in the rooms area. I was taught how to clean the rooms especially the bathrooms. The room attendants taught me the set-up of amenities in the bathroom. The room attendants were very kind. Sometimes they give me water if I’m very tired. The housekeeping department was really worth it because the Executive Housekeeper always make sure that we are always okay and smiling. After HK department, I was assigned at the F&B department. The HR endorsed me to one of the food attendants there. In my first day, they oriented me about the F&B department, their rates and promos, the breakfast buffet and the bar and a la carte. The hotel restaurant was is called “Garden Caf
