INSTALLATION METHODOLOGY Gulf Ceramic will implement the following sequence of work in installing fire rated doors and non fire rated doors . SAFETY PROCEDURE

Listed below are the safety practices to be observed by all workers concerned workers concerned during the whole duration of the project: 

Wearing of safety shoes and helmet at all times.



Provision of sufficient illumination/lighting on the work area.



Provision of necessary warning signs and barricades.



Wearing of safety goggles during cutting of w alls.

PRE  –  INSTALLATION  INSTALLATION 

Use Architect’s approved shop drawings as installation reference.



All obstruction to installation must be removed prior to mobilization.



Secure necessary permits prior to installation if required.

QUALITY CONTROL METHODOLOGY

1. Quality and Compliance with Standards a.) All doors should be of the best quality available material Upon the failure of any door to meet the set standards, the door shall be removed from site and replacement should be supplied immediately.  b.) All doors are to bear Quality Controller’s mark/sticker of approval before being stored ready for processing. c.) Materials will be inspected for the following: i. Compliance to the control samples issued by the Architect.

Use architect approved shop drawings as installation reference



Openings should be complete with the necessary reference layout



Doors should be distributed according to the layout and door code marking















 

Level should be marked using proper level instrument showing clearly the floor finish level. In case the floor finish is not obtained from site, the main contractor shall provide the proper floor finish level, and be held accountable for this level markings. Lay-out of every floor, all areas to receive flooring. Necessary reference lines and elevation shall be reflected using permanent pen marking. Ensure that the reference label on supplied doors are correctly reflected from references provided by the Main Contractor and carefully inspected considering the code/mark per designated location. The door is then positioned and with the lay-out reference string carefully  positioning the door on both its horizontal and vertical alignment with the use of level bar plumbs. The door frame is then temporarily fixed using clamp and wedge at the top and  bottom of the door opening. Screws are drilled into the edges on locations where the frame will be supported until proper depth into the concrete wall. With the frame fixed and pinholes or slots drilled into walls, prepare for the setting of the door. Architrave shall be accurately shaped to fit the contour of the door frame surface. Clearance around the door shall be +/- 3 mm ( unless otherwise specified ) in order that door opens and closes without any obstacles by the door frame.



Inspection and approval by the General Contractor/Consultant/Client.



Protecting the door using proper cover



Cleaning and removal of excess materials at the wo rk area.

FIRE RATED DOORS INSTALLATION o o

Same as normal door installation With the frame fixed and pinholes or slots drilled into walls, prepare for the setting of the door following the procedure specified in the installation manual supplied by the door manufacturer.
