The World Situation May 9 2001 or the Decision isthe everywhere. WesakPreparation has been used to precipitate crisis thatTe allows decisions to be made. Something is happening behind the scenes which will bring a clear choice to many. It has to do with the world nancial system, which is all I can tell you or now. Vulcan is impacting Venus. Te archetype is impressing itsel. Te Hammer is coming down and causing the re-evaluation o values. What is more important? Everywhere that question is being asked and the answer wrought out in individual and group lives will result in the hierarchical arrangement o the groups or the uture. Tere are not right or wrong choices, merely choices and consequences o those choices. Tis year will prove a watershed in the history o the planet rom the inner side. Seeds are being planted. Seeds o destruction as well as seeds o construction. Endings and beginnings upon the outer plane will all be able to trace their today.roots back to this time and the decisions being made

September 11 o all I want give a Hierarchical perspective on theFirst events o the day.toAmerica has long stood or democracy and the principle o reedom in the world. Admittedly that reedom has oten been misinterpreted at a personal level and taken to Sixth Ray extremes, but it must be remembered that the principle is still there nonetheless and that this principle represents the height o what humanity is collectively able to demonstrate o this evolutionary energy. Te events o today will make it clear to thinking men and woman everywhere that this principle o reedom is under threat. Tat there are complex issues underlying the attack are undeniable—the result o it however will be a clear delineation in people’s minds and hearts between those who stand or the liberation o the human spirit and those who are attempting to enslave it. America today is acing the biggest crisis o her history—greater even than the Civil War and the World War, because in this current conict extra-planetary orces are at play. In particular the energy o Freedom as it streams in rom Sirius. Te decisions that this nation makes over the next month will be critical or the whole o humanity and or the purpose that the human kingdom is designed to serve within the solar system and beyond. Will the American nation be able to demonstrate a high level response to this tragedy? A response that comes rom the higher solar plexus and indeed the heart, rather than a response rom the lower solar plexus o quick revenge and retaliation driven by the energies o anguish and ear. Will they take the path o grieving or that which they could not control, ollowed by reection and considered response? 4
Tere are no circumstances in which terrorist actions like those perpetrated today may be justied. Having said that, the orces o rustration in the world about economic and political injustice have created a climate where they are almost human however beings are willing then to a give upinevitable. their lives Wherever or their belies, distorted, blow against the ear o death is struck. What makes people die or their belies rather than live or them? Prolonged periods where they experience powerlessness, and as a result their need or power breaks out in extreme cathartic acts o desperation. Tis is Pluto opposite Saturn. Te orces o opposition to the system mobilise, whether in the case o the individual, the nation or—as is increasingly becoming the case—the planet as a being. Te protests in Seattle, the bombings, the Palestinian cause against Israel, are all part o Pluto’s arrow. Tey are the energies o liberation operating in a distorted sense rom below upwards rather than rom the top downwards. Pluto is not a sacred planet and the activities that arise rom his energies are oten destructive and eventually puricatory due to the inherent energy o Will. o understand Pluto and Vulcan and their connection with Saturn and the Earth, you might consider the ollowing: Saturn represents the control developed by the dominant personality. It is the Cosmic Moon. Tat is a good thing and evolutionary up to a point. Te personality, once developed, needs to become responsive to the will o the soul. Vulcan represents the will o the superconscious— the soul will that is trying to impress itsel upon the dominant personality. Pluto represents the will o the subconscious—those energies WIHIN the three vehicles which are not aligned with the dominant personality. Tey are both oppositional 5
to the will o the personality. Tey are the res o striving and o desperation. Both can be used to the good. However Vulcan’s hammer must eventually control. I Pluto is able to destroy the personal will without the will o the soul to replace it, thenlook anarchy andsigns chaos the rubble caused by Pluto, or the o result. Vulcan.InLook or those leaders to emerge sounding the note o spiritual principle.

September 19 2001 At this time the Second Ray soul o the planet is trying to exert inuence upon the Tird Ray personality. Te result as ar as humanity as a whole is concerned is the opportunity to take the First Initiation. Te energies o Vulcan and Pluto are at work to bring the resistant aspects o the personality to the surace and break the long-lasting and prevalent ocus on materialism o which humanity on Earth is such an exponent. One result may be the reeing up o the world’s money supply. What is needed rom the disciples and initiates on the planet is a demonstration o the magnetic power o the Second Ray soul. Shamballa will awaken men rom their slumber in materialism one way or another. Tis is part o the Decision being made at this time. Hierarchy have decided that humanity is ready. Tat humanity can intelligently understand and respond to the clear distinction between the spiritual values and the material ones. Te educational work o the Hierarchy has seen to this. Everywhere the two positions are being articulated clearly. Whether or not humanity WILL choose is entirely up to them. And I mean that my brother. Hierarchy have decided that it is time to oer the opportunity. We have set ourselves to respond as ully as possible to help i humanity invokes our aid, which we certainly want them to do. And we are prepared to oset the worst eects o a decision by humanity to ignore the spiritual opportunity and reinorce the old pattern o security and materialism. However, humanity is genuinely on its own in the decision-making process. How else could it be? Everywhere leaders are coming orth on both sides rom within humanity, representing the best and worst 7
o the developed human mind and heart. Humanity can and must choose its uture. Hierarchy have made their decision and it is a dening one. Tey have decided to trust humanity to make the right choice or the uture o the race and the planet. Remember thatConsider there arethis. much bigger plans aoot on the planet and in the solar system than the sel-centered problems which ace humanity. Hierarchy have decided to place these larger plans at greater risk rom the ree will o man than has previously been the case. Do not think that the power o ree will—humanity’s power—can be arbitrarily applied. It cannot be given and then withdrawn i it is not used as we would like it. Tat would strike at the very root o the power itsel. Essentially, Hierarchy have decided that humanity can be trusted. rusted, in the nal analysis, to cooperate with the greater good. Tis is a tremendous statement and a tremendous decision. We are saying that humanity has been educated about the issues. Tey are inormed, generally speaking, taking humanity as a whole. Democracy requires an inormed populace. Hierarchy and the Second Ray ashram has worked hard over the last oneneeds hundred years to disseminate the inormation humanity to base a decision upon. Now is the time to make that decision. Te genuine giving o a ree choice is an act not only o trust but also an act that precipitates crisis. Somewhere, semi-consciously, humanity eels the weight o the increased responsibility. It is this which is creating the crisis, because humanity knows that there is no turning away rom this decision and that either way it will be terminal. What I mean by that is: I humanity choose to reassert the power o the Tird Ray planetary personality this will result in the end o a cycle and the pronouncement 8
o ailure by the planetary soul to achieve its intended results in this cycle. O course other cycles will provide other possibilities, but this cycle would be over, possibly resulting in the destruction o the incarnated human amily in part. o Wethe willailure have on a repeat, on a Chain, smallerand turnwe o large the spiral, the Moon collectively will demonstrate that we have yet to overcome the karmic eects o the materialising tendency within humanity and the planetary personality. I humanity choose to assert the power o the Second Ray soul, it will result in the almost immediate externalisation o the Hierarchy (and by ‘immediate’ I mean over the next quarter century). For this, Hierarchy have been steadily preparing. Do you see that it cannot be otherwise? One possibility cannot exist without the other. It is what you would call a ‘make or break’ situation. It will result—i successul—in humanity as a whole taking the First Initiation and the coming into ‘birth’ o the Christ and his Hierarchy in the heart o humanity. I might tell you that there are those within Hierarchy who have counselled against this decision to allow humanity to thatnot most precious all solar Tiswield should concern youounduly as energies, there are Freedom. oten dierent points o view about the Way to proceed held within an underlying synthesis o intent. Te disagreement arises rom the very same issues inherent in the Second Ray soul o the planet. You were told that the situation on the Moon Chain resulted in the premature compassion o our Planetary Logos in accepting the lives rom that Chain that had not demonstrated their readiness or the responsibility o uture evolutionary opportunities. Tere are those in Hierarchy who think that humanity, now, is not ready or the responsibility o cooperating with Hierarchy and have 9
thereore counselled against what they would term ‘the overly inclusive tendencies’ o the Second Ray soul. Tere are those more along First Ray lines who think Hierarchy should either ‘take a greater hand’ in world afairs or withdraw their ‘crisis-producing untilInsuch humanity is demonstrating a greaterenergy’ readiness. bothtimes casesas the result would be a limiting o the ull operation o the power o ree will, while still leaving humanity ree to choose its destiny within a more circumscribed arena. Tis would mean that humanity would still make a decision but would be protected somewhat rom the consequences o that decision— resulting in a slower evolutionary process. (Humanity would not be at risk o destruction on the one hand, and Hierarchy would not externalise so rapidly on the other.) Having careully considered the issue rom all sides, the decision was taken to rely upon the positive strengths o the Second Ray and attempt to minimise the tendencies towards over-inclusiveness. What this means is that the Hierarchy, in giving more reedom to humanity, has decided to limit its own. Hierarchy will consequently do everything that it can to aid i that aid is invoked by
humanity. On the other hand, hasinvocation been agreed to severely limit our active inuence where itthat is not present. Further, i humanity as a whole does not call orth Hierarchy—which would result in the externalisation— Hierarchy have agreed to accept the consequences o that decision. Have you any idea what this would mean, my brother? Some hint can be ound by imagining what it is like or the soul o an individual to look on, unable to help while their personality pursues a sel-destructive path. Tis is what would occur upon a planetary scale. In either case—the externalisation or the withdrawal— the Second Ray soul o the planet, Hierarchy itsel, will learn 10
dispassion. Does this strike you as strange that the Hierarchy as a whole has something to learn, as does humanity? Te soul has much to learn rom incarnation, likewise the planetary Hierarchy has much to learn rom overseeing humanity. And inwithin the case this particular Hierarchy, much karma is hidden the o history o the Planetary Logos. Te decision was taken by Hierarchy on the Wesak ull Moon ollowing the initiating impulse in Aries. Te Libran ull Moon has to do with humanity’s decision in response to that o Hierarchy. Libra is associated with Shamballa, and humanity’s decision will allow the Shamballic orce to be brought into play in one o its two aspects. Either Pluto will dominate and thus purge humanity in a rather drastic way, and thereore set the stage or a later cycle. Or Vulcan will dominate, called orth to anchor the Hierarchy on Earth in response to humanity’s decision to call in collectively the assistance o the soul. Te relationships between Hierarchy and humanity are decisive ones or this time. Will our destinies converge or diverge? Tat is up to humanity at this time. Te disciples and initiates must do their very best to keep the channel open and o humanity. do their best tobetween respondHierarchy to the needs humanityTey and must the principles o Hierarchy. Tey share in the responsibility o humanity, but also in a peculiar sense the active restraint o Hierarchy. Tis time marks the advent onto the world stage o a new and potent power—the massed intent o humanity. Tis brings the sign Cancer into prominence—that sign connected with the Fith Hierarchy and the Fourth Initiation on higher levels. Will the World Disciple emerge rom out o the mass consciousness, or will we return to the domination o the Matter aspect? We will nd out together, and will not need to wait or very long. 11
September 26 2001 Te Hierarchical perspective on world events is designed to be useul in opening your mind to an increased cooperation. It is easy to orget that the dierent kingdoms each have their unique lessons, perspectives and opportunities. I would seek today to give you urther insight into the Plans o Hierarchy at this time. We are all very active in response to the call rom our disciples and initiates in the world. Wherever a point o tension is being held by a group, we are able to lend our hand and energy. Te result o this is three-old. First, the energy naturally has eects upon the projects these groups are working with and the people with whom they come in contact. Sometimes these eects are constructive, sometimes destructive, depending upon the level o integration and alignment in the group. Secondly, the energy has eects upon the invoking individuals in the group. Te result is initiatory in its potential. Te third eect is less obvious—it is an eect upon Hierarchy itsel as a result o the outpouring energies. As these energies pour out they provide a current which allows the energies rom Shamballa (and in some cases extraplanetary energies) to pour into Hierarchy. Hierarchy are at their own great point o tension—a tension which is liberating members o the Hierarchy onto the higher way, just as it is liberating members o humanity into Hierarchy. A great unnel is thus created at this time. Tus there is a dual movement—invocation and evocation. Te call rom the lower allows the inow rom the higher. Tis inow as it moves through the lesser kingdom, heightens the vibration o that kingdom or hierarchy and thus ‘lits them’ into the hierarchy above. 12
Te triangle between Hierarchy and Humanity and Shamballa works somewhat like this: Te energy rom Shamballa owing into Hierarchy is what allows Hierarchy to draw closer to Humanity. One group rom Hierarchy are approaching closer group to Shamballa, and as they thus approach it allows a second rom Hierarchy to approach closer to Humanity. Te analogy is with the Tird, Fourth and Fith Hierarchies. Te Tird Hierarchy builds a bridge between the buddhic plane and the monad so that the Fith Hierarchy is able to build a bridge between the buddhic plane and the astral plane. Tis is the dual action o manas, and Hierarchy is likewise engaged in a dual action. As Hierarchy creates this bridge between Shamballa and Humanity, another energy is able to be expressed as a result o the triangular linking between these three planetary centres—the energy o the Saving Force. Something that has not been considered within the esoteric thought is this: What are the inowing energies that allow the Hierarchy to enter upon the higher way? I a relatively large number o Sixth Degree initiates leave, or prepare to leave, the planetary ring-pass-not every 49 years, what isthis the process? energy which is pouring thatthe allows Very ew o theminto areHierarchy able to take higher initiations in Shamballa as the number o Masters on the First Path is limited. Te Decision taken by the Sixth Degree initiates is deeply linked into the type o crisis which occurs. I the majority o initiates choose a particular path (or example we know that they will all choose together the Path o Earth Service at a later date) then it is the energy inpouring along that path which is what precipitates the ‘crisis’ in humanity. In the example above, the energy o Will as it is expressed through the Seventh Ray would be involved. 13
At the time o this current Decision the emphasis is particularly upon the Fourth Path, the path to Sirius. While this path is always emphasised in any Decision because o its close connection to the Fourth Hierarchy, it is especially dominant at this Tis isenergy linked—i couldRay, but see the cycles—to thetime. incoming o theyou Fourth due to make its presence elt at the mid-point o this 49 year cycle in the year 2025. Te externalisation o the Hierarchy, the coming in o the Fourth Ray, the decision o the Sixth Degree initiates, the reappearance o the Mysteries and the Sirian energy o Freedom all orm one coherent interlocking whole that will express itsel over the next ty years. Te Sixth Ray is passing out, the Seventh Ray is coming in and the Fourth Ray will allow the units o the human Hierarchy, the Fourth, to become spiritually radioactive upon the buddhic plane, the ourth plane o the seventh cosmic plane, the cosmic physical. It is all one beautiul interlocking pattern, and Hierarchy are merely playing their part. Te dierence is that Hierarchy are more conscious and humanity has yet to awaken their in this great Plan. Letully me to give yourole a line o thought which will prove productive in this regard. In the individual process there is a gradual replacement o the energies o the our ethers in the etheric body with the energies o the our higher ethers. What this means is that the ourth ether is able to transmit buddhi, the third atma, the second monadic energy; and the rst ether at a later date will be able to transmit the energy o the logoic plane, and the highest and the lowest shall thereore meet. I you think this process through upon the cosmic levels then insight will come as to the role o Hierarchy, working as they are upon the ourth, third 14
and second cosmic ethers; and in particular the role o the Fourth Hierarchy on its own plane, the buddhic. Tis should give you a key to understanding the type o energy owing down the Fourth Path and the link between the Sirian ALogos andline theoLogos o our planetary scheme. urther thought which will relate this esoteric thinking to the present world crisis: Masonry as you know, attempts to duplicate the practices o the Blue Lodge on Sirius upon the physical plane. Masonry is ruled by the Fourth and Seventh Rays and attempts to provide a receptacle or the First Ray o Will, allowing it to become a ‘seat o initiation’. Te Gemini pillars have ever been the symbol o the Masonic tradition. When the Seventh Ray is in maniestation and the Sun is in Aquarius—as has happened six times so ar during the Fith Rootrace, the energy o Light Supernal is able to be registered on the physical plane. Te Seven Rays blend their light with the Seventh Ray. Tis is the seventh such event during the Fith Rootrace. What might this mean? Te United States o America was ounded under the Masonic inuence and has as its ruling energies the astrological o Aquarius and Gemini. Te pouring keynote in o the soul o signs America is ‘Freedom’—the energy rom Sirius. Perhaps some glimpse o the energies behind the world crisis may become evident. Te Sirian energy ocused through the American soul is pouring into the planet as a result o the Decision by the Sixth Degree initiates. It is causing a great abstraction rom orm and rom materialism, which is what this energy does. Tat abstraction will have great consequences or the Sixth Ray personality o the US, an energy which is on its way out o incarnation, and will naturally have similar eects upon the situation in the Middle East and those races 15
conditioned strongly by the Sixth Ray—Russia and Japan among them. Te result o the cooperation between the Second Ray soul o the planet and the Second Ray soul o America will Sixth be both greatmake abstraction energy (thisand willatake the Raya and way orothe Fourth) greatout anchoring o energy (this will happen under the inuence o the Fith and Seventh Rays). We have the our Rays o Attribute all involved: Te Seventh Ray and Fourth Ray cycling in, the Sixth Ray cycling out and the Fith Ray coming in through Aquarius. I we add the Tird Ray personality o the planet and its Second Ray soul, some idea o the potential synthesis may be grasped. Tis whole process needs to be held in the context o the Planetary Logos taking the ourth sub-initiation o the Second cosmic Initiation. Te astral polarisation o humanity will be somewhat lited into its buddhic correspondence as the Sixth Ray goes out and the Fourth Ray comes in. On the buddhic plane, humanity will contact the higher energies o cosmic buddhi entering via the Planetary Logos on the cosmic astral plane. Tese must be by the Hierarchy—humanity—through the directed th plane ontoFourth the seventh and aecting primarily the ourth ether. Expect this dual process o abstraction and anchoring to occur simultaneously and consequentially. By that I mean that the inow and outow are essentially linked as dual sides o the one event. However with the orty-nine year cycle, expect the emphasis to be on abstraction or the rst hal and anchoring or the second, beginning in 2025.

Libran Full Moon Te o lastmoment week hasonbeen intense Very little happened the an outer planesone. o Earth, but has in the inner worlds there has been immense activity. Even on the inner worlds o the outer—by this I mean the astral and mental planes. Humanity is learning how to work subjectively and I must tell you that our view o the current events is very positive. Te risk taken and the condence shown in humanity that I mentioned two weeks ago is thus ar working out. It is not only necessary to believe in the essential divinity o others but also to correctly judge when that essential divinity is capable o exercising control over its instrument. Humanity at the moment is the World Disciple, striving to prove to the soul that it is able to hold its mind steady in the Light during crisis. I this is maintained then an outpouring rom the soul is the natural result. All occurs under law. Tis is a key understanding about the operation o the principle o Freedom. Te personal sel (in this case humanity) has reedom within its circumscribed sphere. Te consequences o exercising that reedom are expressed in karma. When the personal sel reely chooses to align its choices with the purpose o the planetary lie then personal karma ends and planetary karma quickly begins to work itsel out. It is the work o Hierarchy to help humanity make those choices and to aid in the process o implementing the planetary karma and thence the higher Will at a pace that humanity is able to handle. Just as in the personal case, when a man begins to work o karma rather than resist it, it may appear to outer eyes as i his lie is getting much worse. In the inner worlds 17
however, growth is occurring. One could say that humanity has progressed to the point where it is developed sufciently as a disciple to deal on its own with some o the karma that Hierarchy has been saeguarding it against. as a o parent may o trysociety to protect teenager rom the ullJust impact the laws untilathey are able to understand them and the consequences o breaking them, so Hierarchy has parented humanity. It is time or humanity to be released to its own destiny and that is potentially a glorious destiny. Tis will also allow Hierarchy to place more ocus on its own concerns.

March 13 2002 Te world situation is building to a greater point o tension as we approach the Aries ull Moon. Te First Ray energies available at this time can be used by Hierarchy in an attempt to bring to an end certain basic tendencies within the eld o humanity by a urther ‘sealing’ o the door where evil dwells. Te situation in the Middle East has at its root an aspect o separativeness and materialism. Te srcins lie deep in humanity’s karmic past, but can be witnessed in the actions o the present. Deep survival ears srcinate rom the misidentication o the soul with the orm aspect instead o the spiritual pole. As a result, spiritual principles get ignored in the mistaken attempt to preserve the orm lie. Te result is merely an intensication o the misidentication with the body, and a greater need to control the environment in order to manage the consequent escalating ear. Te great initiation o the Crucixion occurs when the soul nally releases its identication with all within the three worlds, in realisation o its source as the monad. Te monad and the body are opposites within a greater unity. In order or the soul to bring the energies o Spirit and Matter together, it must rst choose its ‘home’. Ten it is able to use the materialising powers o the Seventh Ray to externalise this ‘home’ on Earth. Te choice o the body (or the land as an extension o the body) as the ‘primary’ home, results in the need to deend it against inevitable decay and death. Te ear o death can never be allayed however. I spiritual principles are transgressed in the attempt, then the exile rom Spirit increases and the dependence upon orm increases, creating a materialistic spiral. 19
Ironically, the conict between Israel and Palestine is a reection on the astral plane o this higher battle. Te Palestinians, with their external homeland or ‘racial body’ under threat, are resorting to suicide bombing— an expression o theprinciple’ sacrice (actually o the orm supposedly ‘higher the nature sacriceoroathe individual orm or the collective orm). Te Israelis, eeling their homeland or racial body under threat, are attempting to control their environment in an eort to protect it. Tis control escalates the threat. O course both sides are being motivated by an investment in—and thus a ear or the loss o—their external homeland. Tey are not the only ones with this investment o course—witness the mortgage payments which drive the activity o much o the Western world—but they are playing out its most extreme consequences on behal o humanity. Tey represent the remnants o the Sixth Ray in its materialistic expression. Te investment in ‘orm’ always results, under the pressure o evolution, in the ‘destruction’ o orm. Tis is due to the First Ray energies, directed into the orm by consciousness identied with orm. Te First Ray is intended to abstract consciousness the orm, but i the consciousness will nottherelease the orm,rom the orm gets abstracted as well. Sensing this, the consciousness seeks to ‘externalise’ this destructive orce upon the orms surrounding it. We are seeing this play out now on the world stage. Te Shamballic Impact is an ‘abstracting orce’ designed to release the consciousness rom orm in preparation or the incoming Seventh Ray which will then shape orm according to the Plan. Reactionary Sixth Ray energies
must be oset by the highest aspect o the Sixth Ray, the devotion to spiritual principles regardless o the consequences to the orm, be it body or land. 20
Individuals embodying this highest aspect o the Sixth Ray exist amongst both groups, and it is to them that we can direct our energies o support at this time. But this will not be enough. Te conict is not a localised one—it has srcins the karma humanity, thusitsmust be deep solvedwithin by humanity as o a whole. Tis and requires the strengthening o the United Nations as a centre within humanity or the direction o Will energy as an abstracting and synthesising orce. In order to distribute this ‘abstracting orce’ a triangle is being created between Shamballa, Hierarchy and the New Group o World Servers; the latter representing the ajna centre. Te Christ Festival is almost upon us and this year will be a tremendous outpouring. What is unique about this Festival is that it is such a ‘uniying’ one or humanity. Te Christ loves. He loves like none beore him, and it is this act which makes him unique and his work so uniying or humanity. In Gemini the Christ stood between Humanity and Shamballa and said ‘yes’ to both. Tis ‘atone-ment’ created a singular event in the history o the planet. When he said yes to humanity it was not to some sections o humanity—to enlightened humanity—it was to ALL o humanity and subsequently to the soul lie in all kingdoms. Financial System Tereinare some momentous unolding thecurrently lie o humanity—they are happenings at present behind the scenes and not yet visible to the public eye but will emerge towards the end o a year. Te success o your own project is but one o many breakthroughs which are in their totality the taking o an initiation by humanity as a whole. Te world nancial situation has come under a major reorientation—this as I said is not yet visible in the outer and yet the change in the inner workings is momentous. Te control o the world’s wealth is moving out o the hands o those motivated by materialistic tendencies and into the hands o those who are inspired by Hierarchy. Te exact workings o this cannot be disclosed, however it is the result o a long-term plan that has nally been brought to ruition. It is not really possible to convey to you the ar reaching consequences o this change. Watch and wait as the year unolds and the outer signs o this inner change will begin to be evidenced in the world. Billions o dollars are working their way into bank accounts and nancial instruments, creating a great reservoir that is going to be used or the orwarding o the externalisation process. One o my elds o interest and responsibility is with the philanthropists o the world, and plans have long since been laid or this development. Just as the seeds o the new schools had been planted to come to ruition at the time o the Shamballa Impact, so the seeds o the transormation o the world’s nancial system had also been planted. The Third Phase of the Teachings December 19 2001 Te perspective topic this morning is time. II want to give youor a broader o the teachings am responsible and the way they unold through time, and, in a peculiar way, how they create time itsel. A Master’s consciousness is expanded in time and space. He is able to reach out across continents and between planets with his awareness. An important distinction to note is the dierence between ‘awareness’ and capacity to ‘inuence’. Consciousness inuences matter and thereby causes its evolution due to its capacity to express the energy o Will. A Master is ‘causal’ in the evolution o consciousness identied with orm because he combines ‘awareness’ with Will within a denite time/space ringpass-not. A Master may be aware o the evolution o consciousness across millennia. He is personally responsible however or the development o that consciousness in a much more circumscribed manner. Forinexample project that you areIt is involved is a parttheoashramic my personal responsibility. a subset o my work in time and space. Tis particular project is educational—the preparation o the minds o men (in such a way that their hearts and actions will be subsequently eected) so that they may collectively and intelligently respond to the externalisation o the Hierarchy—a collective project o the Greater Ashram. O course I do this in cooperation with the other Masters, but it is my particular responsibility to be a ‘messenger’ between Hierarchy and Humanity—a bridge builder in consciousness at this particular time. Te rst phase ran rom 1825 to 1925 and had as its ocal point the work done by HPB and the Teosophical Society. Te second phase ran rom 1925 to 2025 and had as its ocal point the work o AA Bailey and the various projects that maniested rom that work such as the Arcane School, World Goodwill and so on. Te third stage is in preparation now and runs rom 2025 to 2125; thenyears. there From will beanother a transition and synthesising period and o ty perspective the project could be said to have a 400 year ‘period’ i we include ty years preparation rom 1775 to 1825. Te point I am making is that Hierarchical projects are denitely carried out in time and space, have clear objectives and timerames. We utilise Saturn as a building and containing inuence, while those whose consciousness is thus limited sense the restriction and seek to grow beyond it. Because we do not know specically how humanity will react, the Masters ollow a strategy that allows or human ree will. In the early phases we spread our inuence 30
widely, and gradually ocus that inuence and attention on a particular individual or group as we are able to ascertain where the best and most eective response occurs. Te work done by the Blavatsky and Bailey groups (or groups they were) wasitsel not predestined to be Early done by them (although the work was predestined). in the cycle the work was presented in consciousness to many groups around the planet wherever opportunity arose and with various success. A similar phase in under way now as I prepare or the third phase o the teachings at the same time as the second phase is culminating. Tus my preparatory work is widespread with many groups being ‘tested’ or their capacity; your own work nds its place among them. In initiating this work I must be able to learn rom the results o the previous phase and at the same time make an intelligent judgement as to the needs o humanity at the end o the century, in the same way that the work completed in the early twentieth century had to serve those who are living and working now. Principally I am working with consciousness, and have as my implementation orce those souls in incarnation andhumanity willing toand respond to my their ‘project’ awho wayare o able serving accelerating ownas eectiveness through alignment to the greater component o Hierarchical will and wisdom that is owing through me, their elder brother. Tese workers must create or themselves, within the aura o my ashram, particular projects contained within my own time/space limitation. Tese projects must be commeasured with the capacity o the individual or group to carry it out, and to provide a eld o service or others to likewise operate within. Some sense o the true nature o Hierarchical operation is contained in these ideas. 31
In addition I must work with and utilise the various energies that are available and are thus contextual to my project. In particular the energies o the seventh ray and o Aquarius. My project itsel, in a peculiar way, is designed to ‘set the inscene’ thesethat energies to enter human consciousness such or a way will allow or the externalisation process to take place. Te maniestation o the Brotherhood upon the physical plane requires the intelligent manipulation o global consciousness as well as many other skills. I must also cooperate closely with the ashramic projects o other Masters and call upon the energetic assistance o my own Master whose time/space ring-pass-not is much greater than (and includes) my own as He prepares himsel to eventually be responsible or the role o World eacher. Tese thoughts today are to encourage you to think in expanded terms about time and space and to ascertain where your own capacities to operate within time and space lie—both in terms o extension o awareness and the capacity to take personal responsibility. Sacrice is related to the willingness to conne one’s consciousness sel-chosen limits in time and space or the purpose otoaiding the development o consciousness within those limits. Tink o the sacrice required by a soul whose proper place in ‘evolutionary time’ is to incarnate in the sixth round, choosing to incarnate in the ourth round. Tere is a requirement in any system or a certain percentage o souls to incarnate ‘out o time’ so to speak in order to preserve the integrity o the whole system. Tese ‘time travellers’ are themselves the links or bridges between rounds and races in the same way that Hierarchy is a bridge. Depending on the stage o evolution o the planet, certain percentages o souls demonstrate this sacricial 32
capacity in a particular manner that relates the rst and seventh round or race o any cycle, the second and sixth, the third and th. Te ourth round or race plays out this same relationship with its internal cycles. When any systembecomes is comprehended in ree its entirety, then the consciousness momentarily o the time and space limitations o the system. When this reedom is able to be maintained at will, then the capacity to causally inuence the system begins to develop. It is this capacity, developed gradually during the lie cycle o any system, which results in the spiral-cyclic nature o consciousness development within the system.

May 30 2001 Tere are three key components o the third phase o the teachings: Te revelation o what lies behind the term ‘Freedom’. Te Rays and the Initiations taught about Shamballa and the building o the higher antahkarana. Te third stage teaches about synthesis: Te triangulation o the three centres on the cosmic physical plane—Shamballa, Hierarchy and Humanity—and the revelation through that triangulation o the ourth divine Quality. Tis revelation on the cosmic physical plane has its higher correspondence in the integration and synthesis o the three vehicles o the Solar Logos—the physical, astral and mental bodies—and their cohesive unctioning as an integrated personality as part o the soul inusion process related to the Tird cosmic Initiation which is the goal o the Logos. What is revealed through the three-old Logoic personality is the Logoic soul or ‘Love’; and this rom solar triadal levels, in particular the buddhic plane. Te lower correspondence to this is the
revelation through the triangle o Shamballa, Hierarchy and Humanity o the ‘love’ nature o the Planetary Logos. Tis lesser ‘love’ ows rom the cosmic astral plane via the triangle o Earth, Vulcan and Pluto and it thereore carries with it the germ o solar Will that will orm a seed or the next solar system. Tis Will is carried on the desire o the Planetary Logos to help carry out the Solar Logoic purpose, remembering that he is a disciple o the Logos. Te anchoring o this ‘germ’ in this the second solar system has a correspondence to the coming o the dragon energy in the second round o this chain. Tis is tied into the revelation o the dawning ourth—the ourth Principle o deity—in 34
the same way that the three Buddhas o Activity eventually reveal Sanat Kumara. Te revelation is preserved or us in the ‘eye in the triangle’ symbology o Masonry. Te second related the srcin anddealt in psychology o the keynote monad, isjust as thetosecond phase depth with the solar angel. Inormation will be given about the ‘body’ upon the atmic plane which is the equivalent to the monad o the causal body upon mental levels. In addition the ve higher planes will be examined, and by these I mean the top three planes o the cosmic physical and the lower two planes o the cosmic astral. It is these planes that will orm the eld o expression or the next system. Te rst system concerned itsel with the lower ve planes o the cosmic physical. Te ailure upon the Moon Chain has meant that consciousness was restricted within the ring-pass-not o the lower three planes when it should have encompassed the whole ve as it has on Venus. Te second solar system should be primarily working with the ve higher planes o the cosmic physical—rom the mental plane up—which is why the consciousness o the Planetary
Logos only comes downplane to the mental plane. In theor third solar system the atmic should orm the base ‘body’ o expression. Tis also helps to explain why there are nine initiations or the soul and how the ‘ten’ works upon the twelve. More inormation will be given on ‘the higher way’ and the seven Cosmic Paths. Just as the buddhic plane is the goal o the personality and the monadic plane is the ‘goal’ o the triad, so the lowest subplane o the cosmic astral is the ‘goal’ o the monad, and there are centres to be ound there just as there are centres upon the monadic and buddhic planes. Te third keynote has to do with the coming Avatar and the role that this little planet has within Cosmic Plan. Elsewhere I have said that Earth may serve as a station o light or this corner o the galaxy, which is quite an extraordinary statement i you stop to think about it. What is the potential role o this planet, what chance does it have o ullling it, and what is the best way orward? Te return o the Christ and the externalisation o the Hierarchy are part o a much vaster Plan then you can imagine. Te relevance to the human kingdom is all that man has been able to grasp so ar, but a synthetic grasp is necessary to glimpse the whole. Te human kingdom must be put in perspective as only one in the system. Identication
withpurpose the whole will enable aintbeunderstanding o the o that whole. some Tis will the most difcult part o the teaching to get across, but in some ways the most important or it sets beore humanity something o the purpose in which they can play a part—not only as a kingdom but as part o a much greater ‘whole’. Already I despair at being able to get this across without being totally misunderstood, but that will be my challenge and that is why it is the third part o the third phase—in some ways the whole body o teaching disseminated through the three phases could be said to have as its goal the conditioning o the eld o humanity so 36
that a seed o this Cosmic purpose could be dropped into that soil. Tis seed may not be dropped until the esoteric worldview has ‘won the day’ within the culture o the planet. course this already true Nevertheless in the inner itworlds. ruthO is revealed andis not created. will only ‘run’ human society in a conscious way once humans o their own ree will choose to accept it. Tus the externalisation process is required rst. Humans must recognise and elect into positions o power in their culture, the representatives o Hierarchy who are already appearing among them. Tey will do this by recognising the purity o their motives, the ‘sense’ o their ideas and the demonstration o principles in their lives. Once the key governments, businesses and social institutions are being guided by the disciples and initiates o the world, then the head o Hierarchy can make his appearance and begin to reveal to an awakening world the deeper mission that underlies the coming o the Avatar. And so there you have the skeleton o the next phase o the teachings that it is my responsibility to reveal progressively to humanity. It is essential that their revelation is progressive andis that the timing is careully attended to. is Revelation itsel a science—knowledge o the Mysteries a re that needs a sustained and progressive burning i it is to serve the society it enters into.

The Revelation of a Fourth Quality of Deity May 30 2001 Behind the three Qualities at o least, divinity which we are already amiliar, theoretically lieswith a ‘dawning ourth’ or which the whole development o human culture and civilisation on this planet has been merely a preparation. Tis ourth Revelation will have a denite and planned impact upon the ourth kingdom, that o the Fourth Creative Hierarchy on this, the ourth chain, o the ourth scheme, in a solar system o the ourth order. Tis planned impact will produce potent results that will not only aect the relationship between the human kingdom and other kingdoms on the planet, but will have repercussions throughout the solar system and beyond. Tis ourth Quality has primarily to do with the relevation o Purpose that is made possible by the evolution o consciousness within time and space. It has a primary relationship to the buddhic plane, just as the other three Qualities (Will, LoveDivinity and Intelligence) relate to itsel th, rom sixth and seventh planes. is slowly expressing the top down, and being revealed to us rom the bottom up. Te rst three undamentals o Te Secret Doctrine are related to the higher three planes in the system and reected in the Qualities o deity expressed on the lower three. On the ourth plane, the ourth Fundamental and the ourth Quality o deity come into direct relationship. On the buddhic plane divinity clothes itsel and begins the process o precipitation into what we call matter. Causal bodies on the higher mental plane are the rst expression o this maniestation—they are consciousness 39
‘xated’ and imbued with specic purpose—behind them lies the quality o consciousness itsel. In this ourth round the Quality o the Solar Logos which lies behind the maniestation o the solar system is gradually itsel. In the when a man nds the qualityrevealing o the Heavenly Mansame withway, which he is associated on the buddhic plane—so a Solar Logos nds the Quality o his cosmic ashram on the cosmic buddhic plane. He then begins to consciously radiate that Quality throughout his entire system, colouring everything with that Quality. Tat Quality will be primarily expressed through the Fourth Creative Hierarchy—the human—just as the quality o buddhi is expressed, once the antahkarana has been built, through a man’s etheric centres upon the ethers o the physical plane. Tus the ourth kingdom, humanity, is the expression on all the schemes o, rst o all a triplicity: Active Intelligence (developed in the last system), Love (developed in this system) and Will (to be developed in the nal system). However just as with man, these three Qualities are the ‘vehicles’ or higher qualities. “In that light we shall see light”.1 Te etheric body is a vehicle or manas—thus the solar systemic ethers are activated that innate qualityand o substance has been by developed in a intelligent previous system will allow,that in the next system, the Will o the Solar Logos to operate on the etheric/physical plane. Tis links the etheric plane with the cosmic mental plane. Similarly, the ethers are also the ‘vehicle’ or cosmic astrality. Te desire o the Solar Logos ows through the desire body o the Planetary Logos, and thus through the chakras on the cosmic etheric—the ashrams on the monadic and buddhic planes—and rom there shapes the consciousness o lives in the three worlds. As our Planetary Logos masters the cosmic astral plane—and he is in a difcult stage in the process o doing

As more o this Quality (a ourth Quality o deity) is expressed through the cosmic astral body o the Earth Scheme, it will be stepped down into the etheric body o the planet (and thus the ashrams) in the ollowing way: • From the ourth plane o the cosmic planes, the cosmic buddhic, being the cosmic ashramic nergy o our Solar Logos (related to one o the Rishis o the Great Bear). • Trough the love petals o the causal body o our Solar Logos.
• o the cosmic astral plane, where it has particular eect through resonance on the ourth subplane. Tis subplane is home to the Aries Hierarchy, ruled by the planet Uranus. • o the sixth subplane o the cosmic astral plane, home o the Gemini Hierarchy and ruled hierarchically by the Earth. Tis, thereore, brings into a close relation our great constellations, each o which has a peculiar relation to the dualities with which man has a denite evolutionary concern. When visualising these diagrams, the symbol should be seen in rapid revolution. Mercury, the Messenger o the Gods, carries to humanity a certain type o orce and this precipitates a point o crisis; it brings about the next great revolution which will lead mankind on to new experience, and to the revelation o the divinity which it is the destiny o man to reveal. 2 From here the line o energy makes a similar descent through the love petals o the causal body o man, through the astral body to the heart chakra on the second etheric plane, to the chakras on the ourth ether and thence to the physical body via the glands. Tis is the true ‘current o healing’ which brings the principle o cosmic buddhi all the way onto the physical plane where it nds eventually, at the heart o every atom, surprise surprise, cosmic buddhi. Tis is the equivalent to the energy rom the monad nding, via the Love aspect o its expression, buddhi, the kundalini energy lying buried at the base All o is the one spine. For those who choose the path o Earth Service, this gateway becomes not an exit point, but an entry point or extra-planetary energies to ow into the Earth Scheme. It is at the Sixth Initiation that a monad exercises its ‘ree will’ in choosing a cosmic Path to ollow. O course a monad is not ‘ree’ to leave until it has abstracted those parts o itsel which have entered into incarnation within the lower worlds. Origin Te monad must have existed by denition at the start o the maniested universe and be present at the end. Te monad is a spark o the One Lie, and as such is both indestructible and in a certain sense, indivisible rom the One Lie itsel. Certainly many o the human monads currently incarnated on our Earth had experience in the previous solar system. Whether they also had experience in previous universes must lie outside our study. So to all intents and purposes the monad, in its essential lie is not separate rom the universal Lie. What we think o when we consider the monad however, is dierent than this. We are taught to locate the monad on the monadic plane and see it as the ultimate source o lie or our soul and our personality incarnate on Earth. Tis o course is true, but it is also a long way rom the whole truth about the monad. From the perspective o the cosmic astral orcosmic example, a human on the monadic planeplane o the physical planemonad has ‘allen’ into physical incarnation. It orms part o the physical incarnation o a Planetary Logos, o a Solar Logos and o a Cosmic Logos. When the monadic lie is released rom incarnation it ollows a ‘path o return’ via the seven cosmic Paths to higher cosmic planes, and eventually nds it’s ‘home’ within the identity o a Cosmic Logos on the cosmic monadic plane. What is it then that ‘travels’ this path o monadic return? A distinction needs to be made between the monadic body upon the monadic plane and the monadic 53
‘lie’ which uses that body—just as we need to make a distinction between the soul and the causal body. Te use o the term ‘consciousness’ is correctly applied to the soul and to the spiritual triad. When we speak o the monad we translation are speakingand about ‘identication’—the transer, expansion, transormation o identity. Te monad orms a part o the ‘Lie’ thread o the greater being in which it lives rather than the ‘Consciousness’ thread. Tis distinction is important. In trying to understand the psychology o the monad thereore, we must lit our sight rom the development o the ‘Consciousness thread’—the antahkarana—to the development o the ‘Lie thread’—the sutratma. In the microcosm man, the Consciousness thread is anchored in the soul and the Lie thread in the heart. Ater the Tird Initiation the monadic orce is able to reach (at times) rom the monad, via the spiritual triad, directly to and through the etheric heart centre located on the second ether. Te human monad orms part o one o the centres o a Heavenly Man. Te Heavenly Man orms part o a Grand Heavenly Man, a Solar Logos. A Solar Logos orms part o a Cosmic Logos. It is the capacity o the monad or ‘identifcation’ which will make possible the transer o energy rom a Cosmic Logos on his own plane, the cosmic monadic, to his heart chakra on the systemic monadic plane. Tis sentence is worthy o your deep consideration. Let me give you an example in the microcosm. An etheric chakra is composed o three types o substance, each

In the same way that the causal body is three-old, the monad also carries within it the capacity or three 55
dierent types o ‘identication’. Te cosmic sutratma is built in ‘Lie’ as a result o the alignment between the wills o three interrelated identities. In the microcosm, the will o the monad, soul and personality are aligned. In the macrocosm theare willaligned. o the Planetary Logos, Logosthe and Cosmic Logos It is this act thatSolar is behind statement that the human kingdom is meant to serve as an outpost o light within the universe. It is a cosmic light that is reerred to, and this ‘light’ will be seen when the lesser two lights have been well established. As you might expect, there is a relationship between the rst three subplanes o the monadic plane, the three types o monad, and the three rings o the cosmic chakra. Tird Ray monads are particularly responsive to the will o the Planetary Logos and were particularly active in the rst solar system and on the Moon Chain within this scheme. We must remember that this planet is not a sacred planet and is in act known as a ‘divine rebel’. Tis means that there is a misalignment between the will o the Planetary Logos and that o the Solar Logos. Te Planetary Logos is taking the Second cosmic Initiation, seeking to master histhe astral andsoul. bring hismisalignment activities into alignment with willbody o the Tis expresses itsel in the struggle o purpose and direction between what we call ‘Moon Chain egos’ and ‘Earth humanity’. We are seeing the struggle between the Tird and Second Rays—the rays o the Earth’s personality and soul. We are urther told that the aim o our Planetary Logos is to carry some part o the will o the Solar Logos into physical expression, and this he is scheduled to accomplish in the next solar system. Te Solar Logos is taking the Tird cosmic Initiation. At this Initiation the energies o the personality and the 56
soul are used and a conscious rapport is established with the monad. Te monad o the Solar Logos is the Cosmic Logos. Tereore we might imagine a time within the third system when the will, theinto solar will and What the Cosmic Logoic willplanetary are all brought alignment. will then be revealed? Te analogy in the microcosm is the alignment o personality, soul and monadic will. Tis releases “Lie more abundant”.7 On the planet the alignment is between Shamballa, Hierarchy and Humanity. When the energy in this triangle circulates we have the appearance o the ‘Saving Force’ wielded by the Lords o Liberation. What the cosmic equivalent to this ‘Saving Force’ is we have no idea. In the human system, the alignment between the ‘three wills’ releases buddhi in ull measure as the “Lie more abundant” through the personality. On the planetary level, the alignment o the ‘three wills’ releases ‘cosmic buddhi’ as the ‘Saving Force’. Tis is the revelation o the ourth Quality o deity that lies behind the Qualities o Intelligence, Love and Will already recognised. When you allow the Law o Magnetic Control to be more powerul it ‘pulls the soul ree’ into buddhi through bringing the lower aspect o manas upon the mental plane into relationship with its higher aspect upon the atmic plane. Tese two aspects o manas bring the intelligent identities o two beings into relationship with each other— that o the human unit and that o the Heavenly Man o which he is a part. Te Heavenly Man on the monadic plane expresses his identity on the atmic, just as the human Hierarchy on the buddhic plane expresses—or should IAnd say, the experiences—its identitycentred upon the mental human personality, in the astralplane. plane, expresses itsel on the physical. In this second solar system the alignment between the second, ourth and sixth planes brings these three entities into direct relationship, and the result o that relationship brings the atmic, mental and physical planes into alignment so that the creative Plan o the Heavenly Man is eventually expressed upon the physical plane. Let me give you some simple examples. In the human personality rst. A man develops the idea that he wants to accomplish something—let’s say climb a mountain. 59
Tis idea must be something that the emotional sel is enthusiastic about, else it will never maniest. Once there is the desire however, the physical body is put in motion and i the desire is strong enough it will support the body to exceed normal training or the event and its also duringcapacities—both the ascent itsel.in Tis orcing process results in a orm o ‘initiation’ or the cells within the physical body as they have increasingly large amounts o ‘higher’ energy owing through them. Similarly within the triad, when the soul has a purpose, emanating rom the atmic plane, it must gather the necessary energies upon the buddhic plane and then express them through the mental. Te process o expressing that purpose through the causal body is what creates the burning o the causal body. Tat re generates the ‘enlightenment’ o the mind and is the source eventually o the ‘ideas’ which the human maniests upon the physical plane. Te same process happens on higher levels—the solar purpose is contacted upon the logoic plane, cohered on the monadic plane and expressed through the atmic. Tis expression generates the energy which the soul experiences as purpose and then expresses upon mental Tis experiences expression generates energy (ideas)the which the plane. personality as purposethe and endeavours to carry out upon the physical plane. Alignment through all these planes eventually results in the solar Will being anchored and expressed upon the physical plane on this planet. Tere you have a succinct expression o the underlying process which the Lord o the World is trying to carry out. I you take the process on to cosmic planes you will see that our Solar Logos is trying to achieve the Tird Initiation, while our Planetary Logos is reaching or the Second. Te work o our Planetary Logos is to take the Second cosmic Initiation. He is attempting to Master the energies o the cosmic astral plane so that he is able to transmit the will o his soul—the Solar Logos—without distortion and inversion onto the cosmic physical plane. Tus we have an alignment o three wills upon cosmic planes—Te Sirian Logos, Te Solar Logos and the Planetary Logos. Tese wills have their expression upon the rst three subplanes o the cosmic physical: Te logoic plane, monadic plane and atmic plane. Once these three wills have achieved the necessary alignment and interplay, something ar greater will be revealed through their synthetic relationship, in the same way that the human soul is revealed through the integrated personality. Tis is the cosmic revelation that will make o this planet a ‘magnetic centre’ in the universe.

June 6 2001 At this time o the Gemini ull Moon I want to give inormation about the Christ and his relationship to the Avatar o Synthesis. In this system it is the Second Ray which is synthetic. Te system must be synthesised by and through Love, and hence the role o the World Saviour. Te Love aspect must be strengthened by the Will however, i synthesis is to take place. Not only must he ‘love all’ but he must draw all towards synthetic Purpose. He must lit all unto the Father. Tis statement “I, i I be lited up, will draw all men unto Me” is one o the most signicant in the Bible, linking as it does, Love and Will.8 Consciousness must ully permeate matter and then arise and return to the source. Christ has thereore a role to play that is more signicant than has been realised to date. He must open himsel to the inowing energies rom the Avatar, while at the same time externalising through the Hierarchy. His consciousness is being liberated rom the whole cosmic physical plane, at the same time as ully externalising on the lowest o the physical planes. In this is the true mystery o the ‘highest and the lowest’ and the ‘last shall be rst and the rst last’. rue mastery o a cosmic plane means that all matter on that plane must be permeated. I have said elsewhere that there are several types o initiation. Relative mastery o a plane is established when the consciousness is shited rom the lower our subplanes to a higher three. Initiation is taken then on the third subplane when twothirds o the matter o the plane has been mastered. wothirds is the ratio which symbolises the mastery o the Second Aspect over the Tird. Tis is why a Master is one who has taken the Fith Initiation and is unctioning upon the atmic plane. 62
Tere is another type o initiation however, which marks the mastery o a whole plane. Tis requires that ALL the matter o the subplanes is mastered. Herein lies the dierence between ‘reedom rom a plane’ and ‘mastery o ais plane’. Te o mastery, which involves reedom obtained byrst the type consciousness struggling to liberate itsel. Once liberated however, under the very principle o achieved reedom, the entity may choose to remain ‘conned’ within the ring-pass-not through which it has just broken, until ALL the matter within that sphere has been mastered. It is such a decision which gives our Planetary Logos the appellation “the Great Sacrice”.9 Te human Hierarchy is the Fourth, and is to be ound unctioning upon the buddhic plane. Te initiations o the threshold are primarily about ‘reeing’ the consciousness o this Hierarchy rom its misidentication with the lower planes and states o matter. At the First Initiation the consciousness is reed rom identication with orm, at the Second rom the emotions, and the Tird rom the mind. Tis re-centres the identity on the buddhic plane and results in relative mastery o the lower planes—ie. the mastery that results rom the liberation o the consciousness. Te clue to the seventh initiation which lies ahead or such high Beings as the Christ would be o no service to you at all. Te clue to the initiation o the ransguration can be o importance, as it involves the personality, and many o you in the not so distant uture (rom the angle o the aeonial lie cycle o the soul) will ace that. Te secret o the third initiation is the demonstration o reedom claims demands o thecomplete personality. It doesrom not the involve theand achievement o a completely perect expression o the spiritual lie, but it does indicate that the service o the initiate and his 63
lie demonstration—regarded in a broad and general way, rom the angle o the lie-tendency and o entire dedication to humanity—remains untouched by the limitations, still existent, o the personal lower sel.10 Tere is still unredeemed matter in the lower bodies however. Tis matter is redeemed sequentially. Once the human Hierarchy is able to stabilise its consciousness on the atmic plane, the result is mastery o the unredeemed matter on the mental plane. Te reabsorption o consciousness into the identity upon the monadic plane (note the wording) results in Mastery o the astral plane; and nally, the shattering o the monadic identity that occurs when the energy the logoic plane is brought into play, allows or the o Mastery o the physical plane resulting in the ‘burning up o dense matter’. Te nuclear explosions were a small example o this energy, released through ssion. Fusion is the release o this energy through a Second Ray process and a ‘sun’ is an example o this process in ull expression. Te reappearance o the Christ upon the physical plane thereore (using the vestures o the Buddha) is the result o events upon the logoic plane o the cosmic physical. Te Avatar o Synthesis is a being who has achieved Mastery over ALL the subplanes o the cosmic physical plane. It is the merging o his radiation with that o the Christ which will enable this event to take place. It must be done through the Christ, as in this second solar system the monadic plane is the high point o achievement, just as in the last the atmic plane represented the high point, and inwill thepermeate next solarthe system rom the logoic plane wholethe o radiation the cosmic physical plane without being stepped down through the energies o the monadic plane. 64
Our modern civilisation today (under the hammer o the destroyer aspect) is being changed; old things are passing away, having served their purpose. Te new thing is not yet noted or appreciated, though already present. Te preparation theisplanting o the germtheor seed work o theodivine will on or Earth nearly over; when Hierarchy is externalised, and men as a whole recognise the position on Earth o the Christ and o His church “invisible” (the union o all souls made perect, which is a true description o the Hierarchy), then—in a manner unoreseen by humanity—Shamballa will assumecontrol, and rom the Council Chamber o Sanat Kumara will issue orth the Sower o the seed; He will sow itwithin the ground prepared by humanity, and thus the uture is assured, not or the planetary Logos alone, but or that greater Whole in which our planet plays its little part. Tat moment lies ahead in the civilisation which shall be, and in the next great race which will emerge out o all our modern races and nations, the sowing will take place. Te next race will be a usion o the whole, and a world-wide recognition o the One Humanity is an essential prerequisite o the which sowing.will It be is the o this universal recognition one creation o the major tasks o the reappearing Christ and His attendant Hierarchy. When the “little wills o men” are beginning to respond on a measurably large scale to the greater Will o the divine Lie, then the major task o Shamballa will become possible…11 But in the last analysis, human progress is purely relative and incidental. Te actor o supreme importance is the ability o the planetary Logos to carry out His primary intention and bring His “project” to a sound 65

Tis is related to the doctrine o avatars. An avatar has nothing to learn rom the environment in which he makes his appearance. Nor is he maniesting under karmic obligation. Tere is naught in him that resonates or ‘relates’ to the environment in which he nds himsel. Tere is no RELAIONSHIP in the sense o an ‘interplay’. An avatar is merely the embodiment o a principle. He can only appear when a system has reached the stage where it is ready to respond to the principle which he is embodying. Te system slowly learns to relate to the principle through being unable to relate to he who embodies that principle! It is like a strange new inert metal appearing. Scientists try everything they can to test the properties o this metal. Chemical reactions, intense heat, pressure. Finally they put it to the test o the ultimate power they know—a nuclear explosion—and still not a scratch. And right here, where the scientists give up, the new metal, as an avatar, begins to reveal something. Just by its appearance it has opened a crack o not-knowing in the consciousness o the scientists. Tis is summed up by the word Intelligence and corresponds to the personality. • Te Second Aspect teaching is illustrated in the concept o a boddhisattva: A liberated being choosing to limit himsel or the sake o lesser unliberated lives. Tis is a more vertical relationship and one that occurs primarily in consciousness and may have no outer personality orm. However it is a ‘personal’ relationship in that the helping o the lesser lives is the ‘primary’ ocus and motivation o the sacricing consciousness. It is the Christ principle and summed up by the word Love and corresponds to the soul. • Te First Aspect teaching has little to do with relationship at all and or this reason leads out o the realm 68

Tis is not really a relationship however but ‘identication’, the sharing in the Lie o a principle. Tis type o teaching is ‘avataric’, is summed up by the word Purpose and corresponds to the monad. Tis latter teaching is, in eect, the reusal to relate to anything a system.Te It isplanets the aspect the Will which leads within to abstraction. The Seventh Purpose and Light Supernal Te Seventh Purpose o Deity—the maniestation o the Will on the physical plane through the conditioning rhythmic impact o the Plan. I have said that we are at a unique time in the history o the Fith Rootrace. Tis is the seventh time that the energy o the Seventh Ray has coincided with the energy o Aquarius, making possible the breaking orth o Light Supernal upon the physical plane. Light Supernal is the blended light o the seven Rays coming together through the agency o the Seventh Ray. Te srcin o Light Supernal is the atmic plane and this is because it is on the atmic plane where the energies o the First, Second and Tird Aspects blend creatively to produce the Plan. Te Plan is the most efcient combination in time and space o the rst three Aspects o deity. It is in eect, as much o the Purpose o deity as can be lovingly and intelligently carried in any cycle. At the completion o a cycle the Plan out is reviewed and accelerated or slowed according to the progress made on the lower ve planes. Atma then is the ‘maniesting purpose’ o deity as distinct rom the ‘abstracting purpose’, and this is expressed in the Tird Ray ormula—“PURPOSE ISELF AM I”.13 Atma ‘embodies’ Purpose through identication and then applies that Purpose through the rhythmic application o energy in the ve worlds. When this Purpose, embodied by the Tird Ray is able to be carried out upon the seventh plane, then ‘Light Supernal’ is known upon Earth. Te Moon is the hierarchical ruler o Aquarius and we should consider the Moon as veiling Vulcan, Neptune and Uranus. The Seventh Purpose of Sanat Kumara Te phase o and the divine is theI most o allnal to indicate, when Ipurpose say indicate meandifcult exactly that, and nothing more denite and clear. Does it mean anything to you when I say that the ceremonial ritual o the daily lie o Sanat Kumara, implemented by music and sound and carried on the waves o colour which break upon the shores o the three worlds o human evolution, reveal—in the clearest notes and tones and shades—the deepest secret behind His purpose? It scarcely makes sense to you and is dismissed as a piece o symbolic writing used by me in order to convey the unconveyable. Te Fith Ray is the ray o esoteric psychology, and the last one hundred years have seen great leaps orward in man’s capacity to ‘see’ into his lower nature. Tis ‘seeing’ creates the channel or soul energy to ow into and redeem the orm. I we could but see it, the reappearance o the Christ is a great act o divine esoteric psychology undertaken by the Lord o the World under the impress o the Planetary Logos and in turn the Solar Logos. Sending the ‘son’ into matter to be crucied by the world is a symbol o sending the light o the soul into our own lower nature. We send in light, which is at rst rejected by the orces in the lower nature which are driven by ear and desire. Te entry matter the soul results in ‘inormation’—the soul learns into through thebyprocess o its crucixion what the core issue is in the lower nature. By ‘seeing’ into it the soul understands the problem more ully. Once this understanding occurs, the soul connects more deeply with the monad, the source o Will, and then drives orward into matter again. Christ returns to Earth, coming this time with a sword. In order or this Will to reach all the way into the etheric/physical plane however, the Seventh Ray is needed.

Te patterns o behaviour established over long periods o time by mankind under the inuence o an uninused personality must be changed through rhythm, a rhythm aligned with divine Purpose. All that a Master needs to know can be deduced rom the radiation o the disciple’s causal body. Earth will become a ‘powerhouse’ within the solar systemic lie as the units o the Fourth Creative Hierarchy o human souls are released more rapidly and in greater numbers. Teir radiation will eventually energise the whole system as the Solar Logos takes the Tird cosmic Initiation. Tis is not only because this is the ray which will be conditioning the next two thousand years, but it is also because this ray has a particular connection to the First Initiation which humanity is undergoing, and also to the integration o the etheric and the physical body with the result being the control o the latter by the ormer. The Seventh Ray Age We will not speak o the obvious changes in emphasis that are heralded by the change rom the Sixth to the Seventh Ray Age except to emphasise again the change in direction o spiritual ocus rom abstraction to maniestation. In the Sixth Ray Age it was necessary or the energy o abstraction to work both or humanity to strengthen its connection with Hierarchy and or the Hierarchy in their turn to strengthen their connection with Shamballa. Now the tide o spiritual lie has turned and a great outpouring o the Will and Purpose o God is owing through the ashrams and out through advanced humanity into the three worlds. Te result o this outow will be the externalisation o the Hierarchy and the governance o the Tird Aspect or the personality o the planet by the Second Aspect, the soul or the Hierarchy, in accordance with the Will o the Planetary Logos held in Shamballa. Tese are now amiliar concepts and yet they are so ar-reaching that 87
they will change almost every aspect o lie on the planet over the next two thousand years. Not all o these changes concern humanity directly. Tere will, or instance, be a major impact upon the mineral kingdom and the etheric levels o increasingly the physical‘radioactive’, plane. Matter willsimply, become or on to all putplanes it more matter will begin to transmit more potently the spiritual aspect and in particular the Will, because o the direct relationship between the First and the Seventh Rays. With respect to the externalisation o the Ashrams, this connection between the Seventh and First Rays is again apparent in the connection between the coming Seventh Ray Avatar and the Avatar o Synthesis. It is the Seventh Ray Avatar that will bring the energy o synthesis onto the physical plane itsel, resulting in the externalisation again o the Mystery schools. Te peculiar aspect o electrical stimulation which is necessary or initiation can once again be applied on the outer plane. Next century, when the seventh ray has achieved complete maniestation and the Piscean inluence is entirely removed, the seventh ray Avatar will appear. His work will demonstrate the law, order and rhythm o the creative process as it works out on the physical plane, blending spirit and matter. And as this ray is called the Ray o Ceremonial Order or Ritual, He will be largely instrumental in producing those conditions which will permit o the reappearance upon Earth o the Mysteries o Initiation, o which the Hierarchy is the custodian. He is necessarily connected with the Great White Lodge on Sirius.18
Secondly, I reerred earlier to the work o the seventh ray in connection with the phenomena o electricity, through which the solar system is coordinated and 88
vitalised. Tere is an aspect o electrical phenomena which produces cohesion, just as there is an aspect which produces light. Tis has not yet been recognised. It is stated in Te Secret Doctrine o H.P.B., and in A reatise Cosmic Fire , that o solar the solar system isonthreeold: there is the re electricity by riction, re, and electric re—the re o body, o soul and o spirit. Fire by riction is coming to be somewhat understood by the scientists o the world, and we are harnessing to our needs the re which heats, which gives light, and which produces motion. Tis is in the physical sense o the words. One o the imminent discoveries will be the integrating power o electricity as it produces the cohesion within all orms and sustains all orm lie during the cycle o maniested existence.19 What we might term the ‘re o synthesis’ srcinates rom the Avatar o Synthesis, and its result is the cohesive relationship o the three Rays o synthesis into One expression. Tus the energy o Shamballa (First Ray) and Hierarchy (Second Ray) are used and expressed upon the physical/etheric plane (Seventh Ray). It is this electrical phenomena which will allow initiation to be registered in the consciousness o human beings through the direct stimulation o the brain via the etheric body. Tis relationship is worth thinking through.
The Taking of the First Initiation by Humanity At the First Initiation the Seventh Ray is active in the shiting o the sacral energies to the throat chakra. I would like to point out a direct correspondence that has not had enough emphasis placed upon it—this is the transer o the nancial wealth o the world into the control o the Masters 89
o the Hierarchy. Strictly speaking a Master who has taken the Fith Degree but not yet the Sixth, is a part o the throat chakra o the planet. He has Mastered the lower ve planes and is creatively expressing the Tird Aspect o the monadic lie. Te bulk o humanity are polarised upon the astral plane and the energy o money (actually concretised prana) is controlled by the desire body o humanity. Te gathering o money into the control o advanced humanity who are polarised upon the mental plane, and the eventual oering o it up into the direct control o the Masters who work through the triad, is the next step immediately ahead or the race. In order or this to happen, the antahkarana must be strongly built between advanced humanity and the ashrams upon the buddhic plane. Within the human body the analogy is the gathering o sacral energy into the solar plexus beore the raising o it via the heart to the throat chakra where the light o matter and the light o manas meet and blend. Tose who hold the resources are dominant personalities who are in the process o being ‘solarised’ just as the lower solar plexus centre must be solarised via the awakening point and the heart. Te ‘awakened point’ within the lie o humanity are those personalities who have stabilised soul contact and are thus able to intelligently present the next step orward. Tey are somewhat group conscious through contact with the heart—Hierarchy—and are sounding the note o humanitarian ‘love’. In order to ‘break’ the energies o the lower point

The Linking of the Physical and Etheric Bodies In a planetary sense this process involves the linking o the ashrams on the buddhic plane, being the ourth ether, with the groups o causal bodies on the higher mental plane representing the ‘points o inow’ into the three worlds. Te Aquarian energies aid in the conscious coming together o souls into causal groups to acilitate this process. Te result will be the control o the physical body o the Logos (the three worlds) by his etheric body. I that etheric body is able to transmit the Will o the Logos rom his causal body upon the cosmic mental plane, the result will be the demonstration o the Will o God in maniestation. Te equivalent in the human system can be seen in the act that it is possible or a human to take the First and Second initiations without consciously registering the act within his physical brain. At the Tird Initiation however, the energy o the soul is so used with the personality that whatever transpires within the consciousness is ‘registered’ by the brain. Tis is a result o atma owing through the sacrice petals o the soul into the etheric body, with the resulting stimulation o the kundalini res in the base and the rising o energy rom the lower chakras to the higher. Te ‘light in the head’ which is ormed by the overlapping o the three head centres has a radiatory eect upon the physical cells o the brain. Tis happens via the ‘vital airs’ within the head. Tese vital airs are analogous to the groups o causal bodies on the mental plane which bring the triple light o synthesis (Light Supernal) into the three worlds via the advanced minds o humanity. 92

It is much more encompassing than this. Te Solar Logos is taking the Tird cosmic Initiation. Te Will o his Second Ray soul must reach through his etheric body and awaken the ‘secret light within the orm’. Te awakening o this light will have a radioactive eect upon the physical plane. Tis radiation is ‘the Will to Love’. Its primary eects within the three worlds will be radioactivity on the physical plane, the sharing o resources and the experience o unity on the astral plane, and the recognition o Hierarchy and the demonstration o brotherhood upon the mental plane. Humanity will thus carry out in the arthest world the edict o their solar Lord. When light illuminates the minds o men and stirs the secret light within all other orms, then the One in Whom we live reveals His hidden, secret lighted Will. 93

The Buddhic Plane and the Human Hierarchy October 10 2001 Te buddhic is the plane o relationship unity and at-and one-ment. Tere is plane a dierence between identication. Relationship preserves the separate identity o the things that are being related. Identication destroys it. In a real sense identication occurs upon the monadic plane. Te consciousness o the human and deva evolutions meet and merge into their essential identity which is one with the planetary lie. On the buddhic plane, these evolutions meet and relate. On the astral plane these evolutions meet and ght. Tus these three words relate to the second, ourth and sixth planes—identication, relationship and conict. Te human unit is a member o the Fourth Creative Hierarchy expressing itsel upon the buddhic plane. You know that humans evolve through directing energy and devas evolve through being directed. On the buddhic plane, the realisation and acceptance o this relationship occurs, resulting trueand cooperation evolutions. is a solar in angel yet he is between not. He the directs his solarMan angel and is directed by it. He is both the Dweller that stands beore the Angel, and the Presence that the Angel protects. Tese are the paradoxes and the mysteries o the buddhic plane. Te Fourth Initiation brings these paradoxes to resolution, and it is this aspect o Hierarchical lie that is dealt with in the ashrams on the buddhic plane. For the sake o clarity we might urther subdivide the Fourth Degree initiates in the ashram as ollows: • Tose with their angel directed upwards to the monad via the atmic plane. 95
• Tose with their angel directed ‘horizontally’ upon the buddhic plane. • Tose with their angel directed downwards into the three worlds. On the buddhic plane the directing energy (human) and relating energy (deva) cooperate. It is this conscious cooperation that allows the three-old work o the Fourth Degree initiates. Let us make a distinction between the work o the Tird Degree initiate in the three worlds and the work o the Fourth Degree: First and oremost the Fourth Degree has been liberated rom any identication in the three worlds and has shattered or is in the process o shattering the causal He has thereore no ‘home’, ‘resting place’ or his body. consciousness in the three worlds. no Te Tird Degree still has an ‘investment’ in matter, albeit high grade solar matter o the three worlds. As man develops the will aspect, he learns to break loose rom the aura o the deva evolution, and the major task o the Hierarchy (as ar as basic essentials are concerned) is to “provide sanctuary” to those who have liberated themselves ocean o devaand energies in which their vehiclesrom mustthe perorce move live and have their being, but with which they have otherwise no point o contact, once liberated by their own eort and will “rom the angels.”22 Te Fourth Degree initiate has liberated himsel rom the angels, including the solar angel, while the Tird Degree initiate is in the process o that liberation. Te Tird has an ‘identity’—an ormed as a resultDegree o thestill downward activity o the identity Fourth and Fith Hierarchies. o understand this we might imagine that a human unit exists simultaneously as an initiate on all 96
levels. Te division in time and space has to do with the central preoccupation and capacity or sel-realisation o the essential Lie. In this case we are discussing the work o the Hierarchy upon the planes the triad, and isthereore the essential identity we areospeaking about that o consciousness. A Tird Degree initiate has his consciousness identied with the mental plane, a Fourth Degree with the buddhic, and a Fith Degree with the atmic plane. Te identication on a particular plane does not however mean that there is no simultaneous consciousness upon the other planes. For example, when in the personality, the act that one may be ocused in the mind does not preclude simultaneous consciousness in the etheric body, although it may be a consciousness that is ‘unconscious’ to the personal identity. An integrated personality integrates, uses and then directs the consciousness developed in each o the three vehicles. When this is done the Tird Degree is ast approaching, and the indwelling being is close to liberation into Hierarchy. Within Hierarchy the same process occurs. A Master o the Fith Degree is one who is able integrate, then direct the energies the triad.toHe does thisuse by and integrating the activity o theoTird, Fourth and Fith Creative Hierarchies. Between the Tird and Fourth Degree, the integration o the Fourth and Fith Hierarchies takes place, and they are related to the Tird. Let me return to the three types or stages o the Fourth Degree initiate and try to explain the process rom their perspective. Man is Mercury, the Fourth Hierarchy directing Venus, the Fith. While in incarnation the Fith Hierarchy is directed into the three worlds. Man looks into the worlds and his consciousness alls. Tis is the true man, the human soul, Mercury. However, simultaneously 97
(rom the causal perspective) there is another man, a lesser man, identied beore the Second Degree with the astral body and Mars. In his aspiration this lesser man notices where the solar angel alls and pursues the object that is lit thereby. man,man the pursues human the Hierarchy, looks, deva allsTe andgreater the lesser object that thethe deva has thereby ‘ensouled’. Tis is the root cause o desire and the process that underlies what humans in the three worlds call ‘love’ and relationship. I you take this analogy and apply it to the greater and lesser Heavenly Men upon their own planes o evolution, much light will be shed upon the operation o the macrocosm. Ater the pursuit o the ultimately unsatisying and unobtainable, the human in the three worlds begins to think creatively and to recognise that the source o what he seeks is his own higher sel. He ceases to be a ‘son o desire’ and becomes a ‘son o mind’. His ather is himsel as the Sun, the source o light, the Fourth Creative Hierarchy. His mother is the solar angel, the beam o light which alls upon and ocuses through the mental plane. Trough abecomes process identied o identiying with his thoughts he glimpses graduallythe as the thinker, and then possibility that he is the director o thought itsel. “HREE MINDS UNIE” under the Fith Ray and then a man is in the process o liberation onto the buddhic plane. He is able to use the causal body without ‘identiying’ with it. 23 Te point here is that he does not suddenly become active upon the buddhic plane, he rather becomes aware o the activity that he is already perorming upon that plane. He does this through identication with a higher aspect o himsel. Herein lies the truth that a man is already a Master. Tis is also the reason why it is so unsae or 98
the human kingdom to contact the deva evolution beore they have ‘sel realised’. On the buddhic plane a man ‘realises’ himsel as Mercury, able to direct Venus. Venus is ‘the light o the soul’. Light is consciousness. Light is substance . Consciousness is or thereore substance. Humans are not consciousness, light substance. Humans possess consciousness—a git rom the solar angels, but are not consciousness. Humans direct consciousness. Humans are Spirit. Let me give you a practical example. A human soul in an ashram upon the buddhic plane, let us say a Second Ray ashram, directs his attention into the three worlds with the intent to produce an eect as a result o the working through o an idea or archetypal energy rom the buddhic plane. As a result o this directed attention by the Fourth Hierarchy, a solar angel—member o the Fith Hierarchy—sacrices itsel and becomes the ‘relating energy o that attention’ or the ‘conveyer o intention’ o the Fourth Hierarchy. Te solar angel builds out o its own substance, the substance o light or consciousness, a causal body upon the higher subplanes o the mental plane.
Tat causal is aovehicle or the buddhic intention, carrying the body quality the ashram into incarnation in the three worlds. A series o seven incarnations occur in which the incarnated soul works out the intention as a result o essentially ‘being’ the energy o that intention itsel. Tis o course is not comprehended until an incarnation in which the realisation o onesel as the source o incarnating intent occurs. When the srcinal ashramic purpose that brought the human soul—with the aid o the solar angel—into a series o incarnations is realised, the human being is thereby ‘ashramically restored’ and able to direct the remainder o the incarnational process. 99
It is exactly with this process that the rst o the three types o Fourth Degree initiate is absorbed. We might think o an initiate as someone who is at a particular stage o realisation o his essential nature. Tus each human soul is andAccordingly, yet very ewwhenever are cognisant o that acta Master in time already, and space. a human being becomes an initiate o any degree his identity is only resting at that level, and is resting there as a living example o the heritage o us all. Tereore when we receive ‘direction’ rom a Master o the Wisdom, we are merely receiving direction rom an aspect o ourselves that is at a greater stage o sel-realisation in time and space. And so the ‘downward gazing’ Fourth Degree initiate is working in the three worlds ‘through’ a number o Tird Degree initiates in his ashram, in order to complete the srcinal incarnating intention and to adjust karma generated by his activities as a soul during the series o incarnations. He is still consciously directing his solar angel or his consciousness into the three worlds according to ashramic intent, but his consciousness or solar angel no longer has a ‘resting place’ within the three worlds and thus remains outside terms. ‘time and space’ as it is known in incarnational Te second type or stage o the Fourth Degree is the directing o the solar angel in relationship upon the buddhic plane itsel. One name or the solar angel might be ‘the bridge between two centres o intention’. It is a relating principle, in act the very energy o relationship itsel. Vertically the two centres o intention might be a man’s buddhic and astral nature—his ashramic intent and his desire. Or it might be the relationship between the intention o an initiate and the intention o a disciple. Horizontally this relating principle is what coheres an 100
ashram, both internally and within the Hierarchy as a whole. It results in synchronous vibration o intent upon the buddhic plane and the web o light upon the higher subplanes o the manasic plane. Fourth Degree initiates working Tey in this way responsible or the the ashram. link andareblend the activity o ‘integrity’ the humanoand deva evolutions upon the buddhic plane so that ‘elds’ o vibration are created and maintained. Tese elds are both ‘reservoirs’ o energy or those who are still polarised within the three worlds, and ‘distribution centres’ or the energies o Will passed down rom those polarised on the higher cosmic ethers. Teir lesson is in learning to balance these two unctions o the ashram. Te result o this activity upon the buddhic plane is what causes many o the difculties disciples have with relationship upon the lower planes. Tese lines o ‘magnetic interplay’ are set up between ashrams, and within an ashram between souls. Tey are the source o the soul level attraction between individuals in incarnation. When the identity o the incarnating soul is still located—evenly partially—within the astral ring-pass-not, then desire comes into Te as Venusian o relationship generated rom play. Mercury part o energies the ashramic interplay are detected and sought ater by the Martian energies o the desire body. Desire seeks to capture and possess the object upon which Venus, the light o the soul, has allen. Te energy o attraction results rom a mutual projection o soul light. Tis energy is best directed towards an increased cooperation in ashramic endeavour, and will then result in a reclamation o the projection and a transer o solar angelic energy or consciousness between the two human centres o intent. We call this ‘creativity’. It is a creativity that leads into a closer connection with the ashram. 101
When the energy o desire is indulged in, the result is oten a solidication o the projection, a decrease in consciousness and ‘procreativity’ as the intent behind the connection is thwarted and seeks independent expression through new be vehicle. Tis vehicle may notthrough necessarily be a child buta may an activity or organisation which the soul intent tries to express. All creativity in the three worlds, even when expressive o the ashram, eventually leads to satiety and divine discontent as the soul seeks a higher creative response. Te third activity o the Fourth Degree initiate concerns those who are working more closely with the Master at the centre o the ashram. It is their job to direct and hold their intention on the Master’s will. Tey are thus in training to hold and receive more and more o the energy directed by the Chohan at the centre o the ashram upon the monadic plane. As a result o this training they are learning to also hold the alignment between their expression on the buddhic plane and their essential monadic identity on the second cosmic ether. Tey do this by directing the solar angel through the
atmic planethat andexpressed thereby discovering theHierarchy higher nature o manas, in the Libran o the triads, rather than the Capricorn Hierarchy. It is the discovery o the higher activity o the angel that makes possible the eventual usion between the evolutions upon the monadic plane. Te establishing o relationship is the essential work o the Fourth Degree initiate. Once the relationship is established then a transer o identity occurs along the channel created out o the substance o the relationship. In involution, the identity ows down the channel resulting in a greater identication o Spirit with consciousness, and 102
then consciousness with orm. In evolution, the ow along the channel is reversed. A Fourth Degree initiate has liberated his own identity rom conusion with the angel. He is thus able to direct the angel as which an agent redemption—a channel or antahkarana along the o identity o those still trapped in the lower worlds can ow. He then learns to direct the angel upon the buddhic plane, creating ‘reservoirs’ o enlightenment and ‘distribution’ points or Hierarchical will. Eventually he learns to direct the solar angel towards the monad and thus creates the channel whereby the higher Will can reach the ashrams. Gradually he transers his identity onto the atmic plane and prepares or the Fith Degree. And so within Hierarchy itsel, dening it as the activity o human beings endowed with consciousness upon the three planes o the triad, there are a number o activities that occupy the attention o the initiates there. Tere are those who chiey concern themselves with the relationship between Hierarchy and humanity. Tere are those who concern themselves with the intra- and interashramic then Hierarchy there are those who seek to maintain relationships, a relationship and between and Shamballa: Te Master, his ministers or internal and external aairs (the Fourth Degree initiates), and the ministers responsible or the management o particular portolios in the creative work o the ashram in the three worlds—the Tird Degree initiates.

Te specic Avatar mentioned here is the Seventh Ray Avatar, whose coming coincides with the onset o the Aquarian Age. the cosmic physical plane. What is crucial is whether this consciousness is controlled by the soul or by the personality. Te Planetary Logos o Earth is taking the Second cosmic Initiation and is polarised upon the cosmic astral. Seventh will allow ortotheoccur maniestation o the Te desires o theRay Planetary Logos upon the physical plane, our Earth globe. Te issue is whether these desires are soul-inused and represent the aspiration o the planetary personality, or whether they are separative in a solar systemic sense and reect the dominance o the lower aspects o the personality. Remember that our planet is a ‘divine rebel’. In taking the Second cosmic, he must overcome the rebellious nature o his personality and demonstrate soul control. Te energies involved are the Second Ray soul and the Tird Ray personality. Te conict is epitomised or us in the story o the ‘Wandering Jew’, and out-pictured in the current world conict. Will the planet demonstrate the consciousness o Love/Wisdom, or will materiality be reinorced? Tis is the planetary question and it is being ought out upon the cosmic planes. Aquarius ocuses the energies upon plane o the cosmic physical plane, so herethe wephysical/etheric have a correspondence to the cosmic situation. Cosmic energies are ocused on the lowest plane and systemic energies are also ocused upon the lowest plane within the lowest system, and this or the seventh time. We have here an opportunity to encounter and master the energy which has been called ‘the lowest o the low’: Whenlight lightwithin illuminates theorms, mindsthen o men and stirs the secret all other the One in Whom we live reveals His hidden, secret lighted Will. 106

June 5 2002 Sirius—there is much to be taught humanity about their relationship with this stupendous system and the role that Earth has to play in the evolution o consciousness within this part o the solar system. o begin with, we must have some understanding o the relationship between Earth, Venus, the Sun and Sirius. Tere is a direct link here—just as Venus is the alter ego and bringer o Light to the Earth, so Sirius serves this purpose to our Sun. Te Sirian orce enters through the solar heart, just as the Venusian orce enters Hierarchy as the heart o ‘Earth’. Tere is thereore a group o solar beings who have as their unction the maintenance o the Second Aspect within the solar system. Te solar angels are in act an outpouring o this solar Hierarchy. It is the heart o the Sun thereore which is the source o the energy which works through our planetary Hierarchy, and the heart o the Sun is enlivened by and supported by energies owing rom Sirius. Sirian energies aid in the evolution o the solar lives. It is or this reason that the Sirian inuence is not elt until the Tird Initiation where a man is coming to know himsel as ‘the solar angel’—or more truly as a human soul who is being aided in his development as a soul through the intervention and assistance o a solar angel. As he learns all the lessons that the solar angel has to teach him, he can then release the solar angel and proceed to ull all its unctions himsel. Te Sirian inuence is particularly potent at this time owing to developments within the greater system o which Sirus orms a part. Our Sun represents the heart chakra o this greater system and it is thereore being activated strongly in this ourth great cycle. Within the solar system 117
there is a triangle between Earth, Venus and Jupiter which has to do with the activation o the solar systemic heart. Earth is the base centre in this triangle, with Venus the higher solar plexus centre and Jupiter as the heart. As humans able, to at the the causal Tird Initiation, to raise kundaliniareenergy body and use the their soul and personality, the human soul is able to spend more time in the ashram, until eventually it is able to break out o the causal body altogether, thus releasing the solar angel back to the heart o the Sun. Tus Venus provides a link between human souls in incarnation on Earth and the planet Jupiter. When that link is made then the Venusian energy o ‘relating’ has completed its work or this cycle. I Sirius is analogous to Venus in the lower system, and the Sun is analogous to the Earth, then which constellation should we look towards or the analogy to Jupiter? Sirius here is the relating principle, the Venusian principle linking the solar system with the Pleiades and in particular Alcyone. In the same way that a solar angel is ‘higher’ or more advanced in evolution than a human soul, even operates a lower plane. The Initiations August 29 2001 Te Tird you know, is regarded Hierarchy as the Initiation, rst majorasinitiation. And so oten by thethe terms ‘First’ and ‘Tird’ are intermingled in my writings. In addition there is the need to distinguish between the various types o initiation as I have laid them out in Letters On Occult Meditation. Another actor that has not been clearly explored beore now is the process that occurs on the three higher subplanes o the mental plane and also on the atmic plane. Te initiations on these subplanes are ‘synthetic’ in the sense that they sum up the experience on a whole plane beore the identity moves o the plane altogether. Tey are like the synthesising planets, and in act synthesise the experience o three planes—in the case o those on the mental plane, the three-old personality, and in the case o the atmic plane, the three-old triad. Just as the First, Second and Tird Initiations are taken on the mental plane but have major eects upon the lower therelevels are three initiations which on taketheplace on theplanes, higher so atmic but have major eects mental, buddhic and atmic planes as a whole. Tere are also three which take place on the three higher subplanes o the monadic plane (this being the second system) and aect the atmic, monadic and logoic planes respectively. Initiation essentially has to do with the transer o identity into larger and larger spheres. During the period o the rst three initiations, man knows himsel to be an animal and a god; he is caught between these two realities. Te First introduces him to his god-like nature, the soul. In the Second he must choose which part o his nature will 121
dominate, the lower or the higher. At the Tird he must demonstrate mastery over the lower three planes o the personality as the soul in incarnation. Tere are times have said that entry the Blue Lodge occurswhere at theI Tird Initiation, and into other times when it occurs at the Fith. Te numbering systems vary depending upon the point o view one is taking. As a rule the more synthetic numbering is when viewing rom the top down, and the more complex it looks rom the bottom up. For example, rom the Sirian perspective the Tird Degree initiate is seen as a triangle, the Fourth as a triangle with an eye, and the Fith as a ve-pointed star (all symbolically). From the point o view o a First Degree initiate on Earth trying to understand the system, it all seems more complex—there are the our sub-initiations 122

It must be remembered that initiations which involve mastery o a plane while the identity is on that plane, are dierent rom those where a lower For plane is beingthe mastered a higher energy. example, masterywith o the emotional plane while the identity is on that plane (accomplished through the ulllment o desire) is dierent than the mastery o the astral plane rom the mental plane through the inusion o buddhi via the love petals o the lotus. Both are a type o Second Initiation. Both involve mastery o the same plane, the astral. Te identity doing the mastery is dierent, as is the type o energy employed. All these distinctions must be taken into consideration. So in the past when man was ocused upon the physical plane, the First Initiation was considered mastery over the ve lower subplanes, rom the position o identity on the physical plane. A so-called Second Initiation is taken when the ve lower subplanes o the astral plane have been mastered. Much o humanity is involved in this process, as the majority o humanity came in polarised on the ourth subplane. In reality these rst two initiations not initiations at all however, rom a manasic perspective. Te rstare real initiation is the Tird, and this initiation is triple, occurring on the highest three subplanes o the mental plane. Tese are the three initiations o manas which are in eect ‘the Tird Initiation’ in its totality, reerring to the mastery o the mental plane. Sometimes when I use the term ‘Tird Initiation’ I am reerring to the rst manasic initiation, sometimes the third and sometimes to the whole three-old process. Te ‘Second’ Initiation can reer to the second manasic initiation, and on occasion the second astral initiation o the threshold. Tere are also occasions when 123

Tey are designed to help bring humanity into conscious relationship with the Will Aspect and with planetary Purpose. You may wish to consider the meaning o them being released to humanity at this time. It indicates two things: • Te readiness that humanity has demonstrated to accept responsibility. • Te requirement o the Planetary Logos that humanity carry out His purpose. It is worth contemplating these two ‘readinesses’ as twin aspects o the same Inner reality. Tey mark a point o time in the history o the planet where the planetary personality is entering discipleship and is thus responsive to the Will o the planetary soul and hence to the Will o the Solar Logos. By the ‘planetary I am not centre here reerring to humanity but to thepersonality’ entity which is the o consciousness polarised upon the cosmic astral plane. Humanity, Hierarchy and Shamballa orm a trinity on the cosmic physical plane. Trough this trinity, the energy o higher planes is able to express through the cosmic physical. In the human situation there are diverse orces at work within the etheric and physical body that drive it into activity. Tere are the orces inherent in matter itsel, then, that when some degree o integration occurs between the etheric and physical body, the physical body becomes the instrument that expresses the orces moving through the etheric body.

Tis is the process being carried on in the whole cosmic physical plane as humanity and Hierarchy come into closer relationship. Once the etheric and the physical body become integrated can unctionoperating as a unit, this unit is used to serve theand consciousness onthen the higher planes. Initially this is the desire or astral body, and then the mental, and eventually the triadic and monadic energies are able to direct the activity on the physical plane. A process o energetic substitution takes place so that eventually the our ethers in the human etheric body are under the direct control o the our cosmic ethers. Te same process occurs upon cosmic levels. Initially the our cosmic ethers are the recipients o energy owing rom the cosmic astral plane, then the mental and so on. Eventually, as solar evolution progresses, the buddhic plane will come under the direct control o the cosmic buddhic plane, the atmic under the control o the comic atmic, and so on. Te our ‘universal ethers’ will control the our cosmic ethers which will control the our ethers on our physical plane o the cosmic physical. Eventually then, man is destined to beour an Solar instrument Will o thepart, Cosmic Logos o which Logos ois the a component o which our Planetary Logos is a component part, and o which we are a component part. A holographic cosmic ecology. Te entering into the etheric body o the cosmic energies is controlled or good reason. Just as in the human situation the thoughtorms o the average man are not permitted to precipitate into maniestation because o the chaos and ugliness which would subsequently result, so on cosmic levels the thoughtorms and the desires o a Planetary Logos do not maniest easily until there is a 130

I the desires srcinating upon the cosmic astral plane were allowed ull expression upon the cosmic physical plane beore this integration had been achieved one whose can imagine the results. We must begin to see the Being body o maniestation this planet is, as a composite being, just as a human being is a composite being. He is currently polarised in his cosmic astral body, developing in this system the quality o Love expressed through cosmic desire. A human being is wont to use his physical nature as an instrument or the carrying out o his lower desires beore (and periodically ater) some degree o soul inusion has taken place. A non-sacred planet is in the same position. Behind the battle between the orces o Light and the so-called Dark Brotherhood lie the events occurring upon the cosmic astral plane. Te materialistic orces are simply those energies and entities upon the cosmic physical plane that are under the control o orces srcinating on the lower our subplanes o the cosmic astral plane, which are in their turn controlled by entities on the lower our subplanes the cosmic mentalonplane. Te o White Brotherhood the other hand are working with energies pouring in rom the three higher subplanes o the cosmic astral and cosmic mental planes. Tey are ‘working or’ the planetary soul rather than the planetary personality. Te planetary personality and soul come into greater alignment as the planet enters more ully into the discipleship required to take the Second cosmic Initiation— in particular the mastery o the astral body. Where we are now in the planetary process is the taking o the sub-initiation o ‘Air’ which leads to the mastery o the ourth subplane o the cosmic astral plane. When this occurs, and it is immanent, then the ourth subplane o the astral will serve as relaying point via the ourth subplane o the cosmic mental plane, or the energies o cosmic buddhi, the ourth universal ether, to reach our buddhic plane, the ourth cosmic ether. His actions must come under mental control. At the Second cosmic planetary Initiation the personality o the Planetary Logos comes under increased attention rom the planetary soul on the third subplane o the cosmic mental plane. It is this energy that will allow the Earth to take the Second cosmic Initiation and become a sacred At planet, in demonstration. this time there must be a nucleus o those amongst humanity who are capable o responding directly to the energy o Shamballa and thus indirectly to the energies o Will pouring orth rom the Will petals o the planetary egoic lotus on the cosmic mental plane. I have paved the way or this with my teachings on Shamballa, and part o the new dispensation will be urther teachings on the monad, its source, its unction and the result o its impact upon the soul. Te equivalent o the Shamballa Impact upon humanity via its advanced members is the impact o the monadic energy on the causal body via the jewel in the lotus. Te Black Lodge works through the stimulation o the orm nature. Hierarchy stimulates the soul within the orm, and Shamballa works to stimulate the Lie aspect within the soul. I have elsewhere told you that individualisation in the next system will be through the use o the Will, just as in this one it is through Love, and in the last system it was through Active Intelligence. Tird, the third method o individualisation is the one to be ollowed in the next solar system, though it will have its aint beginnings in this one. It is not based on latent activity as in the rst case, nor in electrical polarity as in the second, but in a peculiar process o “occult abstraction” (using the word “abstraction” in its basic sense as “the drawing out” o essence). Tis occult is brought about Te by anrst eort o theo will atabstraction present incomprehensible. method individualisation is that o the third aspect, or latent activity, and ollows the line o least resistance under 135
the Law o Economy; the second method is the purely electrical one, and works under the Law o Attraction; whilst the third method lies hidden in dynamic will and is as yet to us impossible and incomprehensible.30 Experimentation will occur in the new schools under the Law o Synthesis which will allow us to evaluate the eects o ‘identication’ as it impacts the process o initiation. Te lesser process can be accelerated by the greater; just as the soul has aided in the process o individualisation, so the monad can aid in the process o initiation. Te mechanics o this aid are delivered via the higher antahkarana. Will orceresulting o the monad transmitted via the jewel Te in the lotus, in the is more rapid unoldment o the petals and thus the taking o initiation by the man in incarnation. I the lower antahkarana is also built, then the conscious inow o monadic energy along the sutratma to the heart centre can take place. It is this inow which can make a man a powerhouse or the Will orce upon the physical plane and a distributor o “Lie more abundant”.31 Te movement o energy along the antahkarana is always a two-way process, and the result o inow o monadic energy into the jewel will be a gradual abstraction o the consciousness o the disciple into the triadal worlds. Te Planetary Logos is polarised on the ourth subplane o the cosmic astral plane. Tis is the plane where the energy o Aries operates, ruled hierarchically by Uranus, godeort’. o lightning. From the logoic subplane, this Will is transerred via the atmic plane to the three highest subplanes o the manasic plane. Tus the enth Creative Hierarchy (the Fith) is the representative o the ve liberated Hierarchies and operates on the Will-to-be mental plane. October 30 2002 Te soul is as limited an expression o triadal consciousness as the physical body is an expression o personality consciousness. In the same way that an individual meditating may be working intensely and yet their physical body is quite still and inactive, the soul considered as the triad may be working with no real activity taking place in the causal body. Really it is the monad that is working, no matter where the consciousness is ocused. Tere is only one ‘sel’ on the cosmic physical plane and that ‘sel’ is the monad. Te monad is thus the source o ‘selhood’ or all lesser states o being in the ve worlds, with this selhood being ‘xated’ on the higher mental plane as a temporary causal existence or lie in the three worlds. Te monad is the source o ‘be-ness’ while the mental plane is the source o ‘sel-awareness’. o be aware o a sel necessarily means one is separate rom that sel. What separates the causal body rom the monad is consciousness, and thereore all consciousness must be transcended beore Be-ness can be experienced in its ullness. Beyond that the monad as the source o Be-ness must learn to negate being in the same way that the soul learns to negate consciousness and the personality learns to negate activity. Te doorway to the higher always requires the relinquishment o that which is the source o the lower. I want to give you one more piece o inormation vital to the new teaching: Te monad is to the cosmic physical plane what the causal body is to the three worlds. It has the same relationship to the cosmic astral and mental planes as the causal body has to the buddhic and atmic planes, or the physical body has to the emotional and mental bodies. It is the physical externalisation o 139
an identity which srcinates on the cosmic mental plane, and in act on the cosmic monadic plane. Your body is to the monad what the monad is to the monad o the Solar Logos. In act the analogy would be closer i we said the heart centre the body is even to thecloser monad what is to the solaromonad. And i we saidthe themonad heart centre, as the sum total o the energy to be ound in the central core o the seven chakras o the body. Te heart centre is the seat o the Lie principle because it is able to communicate that Lie to the centre o each chakra. In a way it could be said to BE the centre o each chakra. Tink this through with regard to the monad as orming part o the centre in one o the seven Heavenly Men.

November 6 2002 In the next solar system the monadic plane will be the lowest point o ocus, with the expression o this ocus occurring through the higher three subplanes o the atmic plane, in the same way that the higher three subplanes o the mental plane are used to transmit ashramic energy in this system. Tere will be no need or a lower ocus by the consciousness o the Heavenly Man because the lower ve planes will automatically respond to the impulses and Will emerging rom the monadic plane. Being and orm will AGREE as a result o the work done on triadal levels during the second system. When we consider the heart chakra o a high initiate, it serves to express the Lie principle emanating rom the monadic plane, clothing itsel rst in buddhi and then in astrality beore expressing through the etheric body. Because there is no identity in the buddhic or astral realm, then these vehicles serve as sheaths. Te disciple is attempting to clear any identity rom the astral body so that it becomes a clear reector o buddhi. Te Master is seeking to clear any identication with his buddhic vehicle so that it may become a clear transmitter o monadic orce. I we extend this process to cosmic levels we can see that there will come a time when a clear alignment occurs between the solar monad on cosmic monadic levels, and the etheric ‘heart o the Sun’ as it expresses through the seven Heavenly Men ocused upon the monadic plane o the cosmic physical plane. In the third solar system our physical Sun will be a sun o the ‘second order’ rather than the ourth, and will thereore be composed o matter o the second ether o the physical systemic plane. As this process o alignment takes place, our Solar Logos will necessarily 141
begin the process o abstraction rom his causal body and begin to identiy with the solar triad and eventually the solar monad. At some long-distant point in solar evolution, the Will o through the solar the monad willsolar be able to centre be transmitted directly etheric heart without any ‘qualication’ by solar triadal consciousness. Tis ‘reabsorption’ o solar consciousness on the cosmic monadic plane marks the beginning o pralaya at the end o the mahamanvantara. Similarly, when the triadal consciousness is reabsorbed by the monad in the lie cycle o a human being, the beginning o the Higher way is entered as the Sixth Degree initiate decides upon which cosmic Path he will leave the cosmic physical plane. Pralaya is only a period o inactivity thereore, to any entity conned to a maniest world. o entities that are operating in the (relatively) unmaniest world, it is a period o activity. For example, when the Logos shits his ocus out o the three lower cosmic planes into the triad or a period, activity dies out in the three worlds, and yet his consciousness is still active. Similarly when a man sleeps, his consciousness continues the astralconsciousness plane even though activity ceases. o on a liberated there isphysical no sleep, only a change o emphasis o activity. Similarly, when an entity withdraws rom consciousness itsel there is no discontinuity in the Lie aspect, merely a time when that Lie is clothing itsel in consciousness and a time when it is reed rom the limitation o consciousness. I you extend this analogy beyond the cosmic physical plane, you will be orced to also entertain the idea that there may be a time when that which we call Being or Lie is being experienced, and a time o non-being or unmaniest experience occurring. 142
Tat which we call Lie, and o which man in the three worlds knows almost nothing, is in reality just another relative experience—the experience o Beingness expressing on the monadic plane. Due to the act that we are unable to penetrate beyond extrapolate this LIFE as absolute—as in actthis, thehumans LIFE which lies behind all existence, in the same way that aspirants assume ‘Spirit’ is anything that is impinging upon their consciousness including the consciousness o the astral plane. Certainly the monad can be a gateway to the greater LIFE o OAWNMBS. In the same way, a heart chakra can be the gateway to astral, buddhic and eventually monadic lie, but what is being experienced by a unit in the etheric heart centre is not the same as the experience o the monad upon its own plane. Tink this through. A useul analogy is the return o the Buddha at each Wesak ull Moon. From the perspective o the personality lie o the planet Earth, nothing is occurring apart rom a ceremony high in the Himalayas. From the perspective o the soul or Hierarchy there is an ‘appearance’, an inow o energy into the planetary soul which is awaited and experienced. end o the experience the Buddha ‘leaves’ rom At thethe perspective o Hierarchy. From the perspective o Shamballa however, the Buddha merely returns his ocus to a higher sphere o activity which also comes within the normal sphere o activity o Shamballa. Te concept o an Absolute Lie is comorting to the mind o man which would like to arrive somewhere nal, or at least eel reassured that there is somewhere nal beyond his ken. Tis does not make logical sense however, as all we can truly understand is what we have experienced, or what is passed on to us rom those capable o a higher level o experience. Beyond the maniest universe (the 143
seven cosmic planes) is the great unmaniest. And yet this ‘unmaniest’ is quite likely to be merely a universal astral body rom that perspective. Who is really willing to limit the limitless by their thought or experience? Temake common Teosophical thatthat i we can just it back to monadicperspective awareness is then is it. Tere is really only ‘one’ monad, One Lie which permeates everything, maniest or unmaniest. Does it not seem reasonable brother, that there are degrees o Lie just as there are degrees o consciousness, and that what is being experienced as the ‘One Lie’ by a human being may be somewhat dierent than the reality experienced as the ‘One Lie’ by the ensouling entity o a constellation? O course it makes no sense to talk o things beyond the understanding o man in the three worlds, let alone beyond his experience. Te universe is evolving however, and man with it. New truths must ever be revealed to the advancing and developing consciousness, and the next great revelation to humanity is o that which lies beyond Lie in the same way that Lie lies behind consciousness. Conclusion—A Call to Synthesis April 16 2003 I want draw your attention todayspeaking to putting this work intotoproper perspective. When o the educational eort undertaken by mysel over several centuries, and more particularly the esoteric writings through HPB and Alice Bailey, it is easy to get a distorted view o the relative importance o this work. Indeed it is most valuable in leading many intelligent thinkers in Western society into a deeper relationship with the essential underlying realities o the vast beings who are the energetic realities in which we live. It is not by any means the only orm o esoteric truth in the world today, and nor are those amiliar with my writings in any way qualied to assume any kind o superior status resulting rom its acquisition. On the contrary, the imparting o spiritual inormation always carries with it responsibility or both the source and the recipient. All true spiritual growth is measured through the application o wisdom, and is obvious to those who watch rom inner worlds in such inormation things as causal development. Te the great danger o spiritual that is not applied is that it can serve to inhibit growth rather than promote it. Te mind becomes stued with data, stored as acquisitively as a banker stores his gold, and distributed with the same degree o expectation o return. Although the type o return is not in this case interest in the monetary sense, but ‘interest’ in the sense o ‘attention’. Humanity as a whole is beginning to be more aware o the power o ‘attention’. Attention is soul energy, whether o not this is understood by the entity directing the attention. Tis attention is increased by using the powers o ‘mental 145
seduction’ which work the same way as physical seduction. Human desires want to chase that which is withheld rom them, in the expectation that its possession will somehow bestow upon them something which they already unknowingly possess. possession o money is only o value i the Te individual possessing it isor reeexample, rom any sense that his sel value or his survival depends upon such possession. In addition, the money must be recognised as belonging ultimately to the Christ, and must be held in such a way that it brings benet to humanity as a whole and not to the individual at the expense o the collective. Te possession o esoteric wisdom ollows exactly the same rules. It is better not to learn anything and to turn away rom the esoteric tradition knowing that you know nothing, than to acquire knowledge to articially bolster a lack o sel-worth, or to hold captive the attention o others who seek knowledge or sel-serving ends. Just as it is difcult to nd genuine philanthropists—those who are able to hold and distribute wealth or the collective—so it is difcult to nd initiate esotericists—those able to hold and distribute wisdom or the benet o their others. Te proverb it isthan easier a camel eye o a that needle or or a rich man to to pass enterthrough heaven,the has particular relevance to the Tird Initiation. Tis initiation, as we know, concerns the mind and the mastery o illusion. Knowledge is gained, thoughtorms are built, and eventually all must be given away and released in order or the indwelling entity to pass reely onto the buddhic plane. Tis one o the reasons that I have said that there are ew esotericists ound among the New Group o World Servers. Oten those who come to God along the path o service are more able to demonstrate the Love principle that as at the core o the initiatory process than those who come 146

I you think through the analogy between those who control money and those who control inormation, and consider the high preponderance o Moon Chain egos in the current make-up o humanity, some light may comethat on which the difculties Tird Ray types have in releasing has beenthat accumulated. Tere are some hard truths here. Te average esotericist would like to believe that he is among the most advanced o humanity simply because he has been drawn to study esoteric matters. Further, he would like to imagine that there are relatively ew spiritual workers in the world, and that those people who are in positions o power and inuence amongst the educational, political and economic structures o their society are not spiritually motivated. A case could equally be made or the reverse point o view— that esotericists are quite simply those who require remedial work that consists in a prolonged opening o their minds beore they are willing to open their hearts. Esotericists can also tend to look down upon those who are obviously motivated by nancial gain, while they themselves are motivated by the gain o abstract esoteric inormation. harvester o both grain are is not so the dierent the harvester Te o corn as they rom sowersrom o any crop. Te truth is that there are very many spiritual workers, and many o them would not label themselves as ‘spiritual’ at all. Tey are men and women motivated by a sense o contribution to the whole, living lives o balance and goodwill. I you want to transition rom an esotericist to an occultist, then the application o wisdom is essential. An esotericist studies the wisdom traditions. An occultist applies them, using the mind to direct higher energies into the world o orm, spiritualising Matter as a result o the 147
recognition that both are one. Te simplest way or the transition to be made is to give all your possessions to God. Or speaking in the language o esotericism, to give all your personality acquisitions to the soul, which is your Sel and in the relinquishing o all, allallis that gained your identity. And then to relinquish theby soul hashigher gained through its many incarnations in the three worlds and stored away in the causal body—to give all these possessions o consciousness to the monad, the One, to be utilised according to divine Purpose. I, as a Second Ray worker, would bring to your attention the Law o Repulse or the Second Ray. Te Direction o Ray II. Te Scholar knows the truth. All is revealed to him. Surrounded by his books, and sheltered in the world o thought, he burrows like a mole, and nds his way into the darkness; he arrives at knowledge o the world o natural things. His eye is closed. His eyes are opened wide. He dwells within his world in deep content. Detail on detail enter into the content o his world o thought. He stores the nuggets o the knowledge o the world, as a squirrel stores its nuts. Te storehouse now is adequately ull....Sudden a spade descends, or the thinker tends the garden o his thought, and thus destroys the passages o mind. Ruin arrives, destroying ast the storehouse o the mind, the sae security, the darkness and the warmth o a satised enquiry. All is removed. Preface It is my belie that more and more groups who have equipped and trained their minds in the esoteric teachings are being given opportunities to come into a more direct alignment with the ashram and serve as transmitters or Hierarchical energy and teaching. Tis would indeed be a welcome balance to the volumes o more astrally based messages that are becoming more prevalent as humanity as a whole becomes increasingly responsive to the Externalising process. I oer these insights rom my own experience with this work in the spirit o esoteric science and in the hope that a uller understanding o the processes involved may lead to a deeper connection by students with the ‘lie’ and intent behind the teachings. Ater studying the esoteric tradition and in particular the works o Alice Bailey or twelve years I was approached by an inner presence that I elt to be the Master DK in January o the year 2000. Tis was not a generalized energetic contact but a specic request to carry out a particular piece o writing work connected with the general theme o the Tird Revelation that was prophesied or the early part o this century. I had both a eeling o ‘déjà vu’ in the sense o having already prepared and agreed to do this work at a deeper level, combined with a sense o trepidation as I realised something o the changes that saying ‘yes’ to this project would precipitate in my outer lie. I sat down and wrote the ollowing as it was impressed on my mind. A side note here about the way this process works or me. It is not a dictation process in the sense that I hear 153
and then record individual words. It is a process whereby the ‘idea’, the key archetypal energetic thoughtorm (really a ‘thought-essence’) is gently impressed on the mind and then clothes itsel in words that are ormulated within my mind but can be Itchecked in reerenceotosouls the ‘archetypal thought’. is moreback a communion than a communion o minds. My soul is receptive to the inowing energy rom the soul o the Master and then this energy clothes itsel in the mind and generates words. Naturally elements o my own personality colour what is received but I have ound that as the training progresses this diminishes. Icentury have told yoube that remainder o the twentieth was to giventhe over to the rebuilding o world civilisation and the distribution o world resources. (See Destiny o Nations.) I you could but see things rom the inner worlds you might realise how much has been achieved. Tere is still the working through o the inner victories on to the outer spheres o activity in the three worlds, but great victories or the human spirit there have been. Now begins that tremendous task which so many o you who are now in incarnation are equipped to ull. It is or this that I write. I have also said that the eaching which I have the responsibility to deliver into the mind o mankind has another phase to run. Te work now is to anchor the new culture—a culture based on the realities o the inner worlds and thus in alignment with solar systemic and cosmic energies. Tis new culture is ounded upon the energy o liberation—a liberation romorm. livingEverywhere based on ears concerning the survival o the the vitalising res o spirit are breaking through into consciousness and liberation is occurring in the hearts 154
o individuals, and increasingly as we enter the Aquarian Age, in the hearts o groups. Te keynote o this emerging culture is synthesis. A synthesis that recognises the One Lie and thereby allows the group and the individual to nd their proper place and purpose within the whole. It is an important truism that ‘synthesis dierentiates’ and it is this that allows the recognition and subsequent demonstration o brotherhood. It is brotherhood that is the oundation o Hierarchy, and the expression o this brotherhood upon the outer plane is the promise o the Aquarian Age and the result o the culture o synthesis. he direction o this emerging culture is towards maniestation. Te git o the last two thousand years qualied by the Sixth Ray has been the aspiration o the consciousness, identied with matter, towards spirit. At the cusp o the ages, signicant numbers have shited their identity into the intangible realms and now the great outbreath begins—the expression o consciousness, identied with spirit, towards maniestation and the resulting redemption o matter. It is this great act o courage, exemplied or us in the Christ’s decision to reappear, that orms the directional basis or the Yoga o daring. Te Externalisation o Te Hierarchy is a deliberate, intelligent, loving and willul act o afrmation. An afrmation o the essential non-dual nature o reality. A demonstration, through identication, that spirit and matter are not two, but one. Tis demonstration ends the gap in collective consciousness between so-called lie and death, liberating 155
humanity and through humanity the other kingdoms in nature, rom the clutch o ear. Te result o this emerging culture will be ‘lie more abundant’. Ultimately we are called upon to truly Live, to allow Lie to irradiate us in greater and greater degree—a sustained burning that will eventually set the whole Earth aame with blue re so that we may take our place amongst the sacred planets and add our note o harmony to the music o the spheres. Along with this impression came a vision o a series o books completed over the next twenty ve years. A plan was being laid out or me in time and space and yet the heart, the core o this outer process was already complete. Te core assertion was an energetic ‘sound’, a at o reedom, which would gradually clothe itsel in ideas, and these ideas would be written down in books and studied. Te ideas and the books were not the eaching however, the eaching was the reality o the afrmation o inherent reedom ‘sounded’ by a Being with intent to liberate those held within the illusion o mind. Any thoughts or ideas that clothe reality. that ‘sound’ will have at their core that purposeul Te eaching contains then the great Shamballic ‘sound’ stepped down by Hierarchy in such a way that it liberates human consciousness rom illusion and then makes o it a sheath or anchoring that ‘sound’ in the depths o matter. In May 2000 at the time o the Wesak ull moon I travelled with eight others to the Wesak valley on the slopes o Mt Kailas in ibet in response to an inner call to be present physically at the time o the Shamballic Impact. 156
Upon return to New Zealand I helped ound an esoteric school at Highden near Palmerston North, along the lines o the occult schools laid out in Letters On Occult Meditation. Te core o this ‘school’ named itsel in meditation School”, this nameprocess did not apply to the“Shamballa outer location but toalthough the inner group in the ounding o the archetypal energetics. Tis process was guided principally by three inner energies or Masters— the Master Morya, the Master DK and a Seventh Ray Master under the Master R. Tis triangle worked through a coordinating point, a ourth degree initiate who we also worked with subjectively but never met, and who had the direct responsibility or the project. My writing work continued in three ways. Te rst part had to do with the third phase o the eachings. Tis was denitely under the impression o the Master DK and takes the orm o an esoteric and abstract treatise on subjects that lead on rom A reatise on Cosmic Fire.Te second phase o the transmitted works deals with the group initiatory process and is also under impression. Te third aspect has to do with individual practice and is my own penetrative work line although carried out more in alignment with the Morya o energy. My experience these two ways o writing is quite diferent. Te DK impression writing is rhythmic and requires surrender—the willingness to open the consciousness in a way that allows it to be ‘thought through’. A relationship is established by both sides. Te work on the First Ray line is sporadic and requires striving. Te consciousness must be brought to a place o intense breakthrough either through abstraction or application to a specic outcome in the three worlds (oten both are required) beore deeper contact with the energy stream is attained. 157

April 18 2001 I want to make some personal comments now concerning your work or me. Now, what I propose is a regular time or transmission. Te work that you are doing on Sundays is primarily under the impression o the Master Morya and should proceed. Te release o a book on Agni Yoga is much needed at this time. He works somewhat dierently to me in that you are required to do much more o the penetrative work. He gives short bursts o energy while I preer sustained periods wherein I articulate a ull piece o work rom many angles. I like to work through my scribes rather than have them pierce the veils themselves. Te energy is inpouring rather than abstracting, i you know what I mean. I you are willing to work in this way we need merely make a regular rhythmic time or the dictation. Wednesdays work well as the energy o Mercury is conducive to my work. Shall we say an hour or two each Wednesday rom 10am onwards? I understand about the ears you have in opening your mind in such a ashion. Rest assured that you are well protected and have been watched and worked on or many years prior to this work commencing. Te greatest dangers are not rom outside orces interering with our communication, but rom orces within your own nature— orces o doubt and pride that may seek to distort or take over this work. Hence we use many such or our works throughout the world and they are tested thus in the quality o their communications and the clarity with which they express our work. Let us begin the training or the day. What I want you to do is to endeavour to hold as high an energetic point o tension as possible and then just let your ngers 160
do the walking. Your work is to hold the consciousness ever in that high place and thus maintain the clear channel through which my thoughts can pour. Yes, it is like developing a muscle and your mind is likely to get tired, rebel and so orth. Remember that I said sustained eort my brother. Your mind is learning to sacrice. Rather than having interesting bits o inormation to think about, the elemental lives are being orced to obey and cooperate with a higher energy which seeks to communicate not with them but through them, and this or the benet o humanity. Do not worry about the quality o what is being written. Give it a month and then review and pass judgement on the material. Tere are many problems occupying the minds o those who see and guide on the inside. Te capacity o humanity to handle the Will is only one o them. Another is the response to the Love Aspect. I you could but know the incredible orce which is being generated by the return o the Christ as the ashrams externalise. Tis energy is what the world waits or but because it does not know this consciously, the higher the race, then the response except to the in inow o loveechelons is largelyounconscious and orms the ‘urge to merge’ in many horizontal ways, sexuality being the most obvious. Group ormation, company mergers, currency mergers and the like are also part o this process. Hence you also see the need or the PUING BEFORE HE CONSCIOUS MIND OF HE PUBLIC AN INELLIGEN PRESENAION OF WHA IS ACUALLY HAPPENING SO HA HEY ARE able to respond more CONSCIOUSLY O HE INFLOWING ENERGY. Tis you can do—you have the psychological training, the eet on the ground, the demonstration at 161
Highden o a careul approach to the inner worlds. You must nd a way to communicate this in an intelligent ashion. Tis will also require sacrice my brother as you risk the ridicule and misunderstanding o those who are mentally not yet heart centred. Highden continue polarised to grow inbut reputation and magnetic power. It will will attract attention. We will see to that. What you do with that attention is crucial. Tose lines o communication must be used to put beore the public an intelligent presentation o the act o the spiritual Hierarchy o the planet, the new psychology, the emphasis on group and the assistance that is available at these crucial times. Another actor that I would ask you to deeply consider is the way in which your teaching is done at the centre. No mention is to be made o these communications to others, and this includes those close to you until such time as it has become clear to you that the communications are valid and make a contribution to the work. Until then, I ask you to draw your support and strength in the uncertainty o the process rom me. I at the end o a month o work you are not satised, then we will review.

May 2 2001 Disciplining the mind or this type o work is not an easy thing, but progress is being made. You must allow time or this contact to develop and just allow the process to take its course. Energetic realities seeking to impress themselves upon the material plane, gathering and ordering orms into conormity with the law. Te orms will protest o course. Listen to the protestations but keep your will rmly on the side o the archetypes.

May 16 2001 Well, one month has come and gone and you will be aware o a number o responses to our work. First, it will be apparent that the quality o the ‘channel’ varies and that some communications are more powerul and less coloured by the activities going on in your own eld. Secondly, you will be aware o the ‘signicance’ o the communication— regardless o the ‘meaning’. Tere is a dierence here. Te signicance reers to the ways in which the inowing energy shapes the consciousness aspect and aects thereore your environing consciousness. It is this energy which lies behind the ormulated words and concepts—the transmission o ‘Lie’. Tirdly, you will be aware o the ‘attractiveness’ o the Second Ray energy—there is no repulsion experienced by your emotional and physical vehicles in this process as there is when the emphasis is purely mental or along First Ray lines. I have a ew observations o my own to oer about the interaction. It is not easy or you to ‘surrender’ your mind in this way but curiously that is why I have chosen to work with you. Your mind is rather impervious to the input o others which means that the purity o my thought will be maintained IF brother—and that is a big IF—you will trust me enough to ully open to my impression. You trust no-one my brother and that in a way is a good thing and has served you well. I we are to work together however, you must develop and strengthen your trust in me so that a part o your mind is not second-guessing or interpreting as you type. Another major hindrance is the attachment, the stickiness o your astral body. Just as your mind is insular, your emotional body is absorbing so that the environing conditions play upon your astral nature unceasingly. You 165
have done much work in trying to minimise this impact or at least not be controlled by it, however it is still a hindrance. We can work around it by undertaking some cleansing beore beginning our work and also by ‘sealing’ the meditation roomcome during the times o little our labour. It is important that you to this work as energised by your environment as possible. Perhaps a shower and a meditative cleansing beore beginning. Go ahead with your writing brother—let the Agni work be completed under your name and as your project. Use this connection or assistance and support. Perhaps later we will work at dictation writing. Agni is peculiarly your own work and a piece o your own soul’s karma, so proceed on that basis. Continue however to set aside this time on Wednesday morning and I suggest that you do something similar or Agni. Friday is the most suitable, and then save Sunday or the abstract work which has no expression and yet is the rock upon which all else is built.

May 23 2001 Brother, I plan to take our work to a deeper level today as an experiment. You will be aware o the need to allow me greater access through your thoughtorms. What I have to say concerns the work o Hierarchy and not so much your work there at Highden. We are in the middle o a planned push orward onto the outer plane and hierarchical workers all over the world are eeling this inner pressure. We require humanity’s conscious cooperation in this process. Te education work o the last century was designed to condition the minds o many disciples so that when this push came it would not be too disturbing and disruptive to the minds o men. It is not easy to genuinely open onesel to another kingdom. Te boundaries between them are strong and rightly so. I you could but see the whole phenomenon o ‘impression’ encompassing as it does so many levels rom astral channelling, to the preoccupation with UFOs, to think tanks; —everywhere mankind is becoming receptive ‘en masse’ to impression. Naturally this impression is being ltered through many layers o energy both individual and collective, and there are many attendant dangers. We have to be careul not to increase the level o illusion and glamour as a result o our impression. Tat is why we need clear minds and personalities that are not subject to major distortion. You have such a mind brother and we are consequently asking or your help. Inormation must be able to be spread rom many dierent levels—not only subjective but rom living personalities able to stand up and express that which can produce ear and ridicule, in sensible and sensitive ways. Te distorted presentations are many, and still oten do good work in the overall conditioning 167
process. Clear channels with relatively pure motives are ew however and needed. Te emphasis is shiting rom the mere distribution o inormation which has been valuable to the ‘embodiment o principles’ which will be ar more demanding the race. and thereore more impactul on the psyche o It is one thing to hypothesise about intelligent beings in the inner worlds—another to actually speak on behal o them. Oh yes, I sense your recoil rom being involved in anything like that and question you as to your motive. Is it not, my brother, that you ear the ridicule and misunderstanding that is likely to be directed at you rom all corners? Are you not prideul o your independent mind and personality? What would it mean to you to be seen as a mere pawn in the hand o a disincarnate (or at least distantly incarnated) entity? An entity that would be open to much debate as to its very existence. Your motives would be examined closely and many would nd them wanting. And you would be challenged most orceully by your very brothers in the esoteric community. However your work on our behal would cause much debate in those and wider circles. would be o a tremendous service our cause, which isIt the cause humanity. Only wetoknow the sacrice brother—others will see the motives as seeking ame and authority rom external sources. Don’t you see the irony o it. It is the very act that you do not want this path as a personality that will help protect you rom the pitalls and more importantly my riend, protect our intended work rom taint. Tere is a part o me that needs more—even though I know about aith and have been oered so many proos already that I eel I ‘should’ just proceed on that basis. I have a spiritual auditor inside me. Pluto is on my Saturn and I am demanding purity o intent rom mysel and everything I am involved in. Am I really to stand up o as Blavatsky’s a representative o ‘Masters’ that may ingoing act be gments imagination to lend strength to her own presentation? What benet is served by claiming inner higher authorities? Should not the quality 169
o the communication speak or itsel? Does truth need bolstering by the appeal to authorities that remain unproven to the reader’s cognition? My concern is right relations in the human amily. Is that served by the expression o communications romasanother ‘kingdom’? Ok so I realise I am writing these doubts that my lie demonstration and experience is already proving that on some level I have answered them satisactorily. However there is still the premise that I am somehow creating these communications so that a part o me that is seeking power and authority can elevate itsel by claiming direct communications to higher authority. I have a good mind and have studied the teachings— how do I know that inormation coming purportedly rom DK is not just an extrapolation o my own thoughts? Te telepathic test is that I receive inormation that I do not have access to through other channels. Tat would convince me that the communication is at least coming rom outside my conscious or unconscious identity. ransmission rom the group mind or past lie accumulations are still possibilities but by then I am already into mumbo jumbo land may more as well proceed and recant the source later i it revealssoitsel deeply. So I eel justied in admitting a personality reluctance which I will work to overcome on condition that I am convinced about the quality and source o the inormation. Ok so the deal is this: I will oer up what I have developed in this lie—a soul/personality high level o integration and respect within the worldwide esoteric community. Tis is part o the mystery o ‘retention o identity’. Tere is no separation between ‘my soul and thine’ and yet there is retention o identity and ‘authorship’. Strange is it not? Are there not times in your own experience where you are not ‘at your best’ meaning that your consciousness is unctioning through lower vehicles which may be somewhat clouded or restricted? I one begins to redene one’s identity through ‘identication’ with the ashram or with Hierarchy itsel, then there will o course be times when more or less o the Sel is expressing through any one ‘sel’, but there is no real separation o consciousness and identity. Only the concentration o that identity and its distribution through the component We are oneworks and yet together we are somewhat more parts. than apart. Tis in consciousness as well as orm. So I see that it will help to explain urther the mechanism by which such communications as this can 171
take place—not only or your own comort but or the satisaction o our ‘audience’. Te best way I can describe it is this—I ‘shine’ my consciousness towards and through your consciousness withthird intent. In this caseteachings. the intentNaturally is the transmission the phase o the this shiningo will stimulate your own consciousness and there will be a necessary period o ‘preparing the eld’. It is not dissimilar to the soul conditioning the three periodic vehicles. In this case it is my soul conditioning your soul i such a distinction can be made. Tis takes place upon the higher levels o the mental plane and so thereore requires that you are able to ‘hold your mind steady in the light o the soul’. Tis then allows transmission to take place rom my soul/mind to your soul/mind. O course the transmission is energy and that energy will be conditioned by the quality and intent o my soul and mind as well as your own. Tat is why a clear alignment o intent is necessary. We need to be clear up ront what it is that we are trying to achieve together. Ten we need to have a unctional mechanism that allows us to connect at specic times and in specic places causal body). Nextam weused needtototransmitting work on the quality(the o our connection—I but must make adjustments to you as a receiver, and you must learn how to keep the channel clear and also how to puriy your own elds so that they do not interrupt or distort the ow o inormation. June 13 2001 Brother I have some personal messages. You must spend some more time alone attempting to deepen your connection to me, your Master, at least in this work and also to work on developing the continuity o consciousness which will be so important in your role within the School. Sleep alone at least a couple o nights a week and especially uesday night beore our session. Read the inormation on ‘surrender o the centres’ and begin to practise this surrender, willingly undergone to allow the inow and control o your individual centres by the planetary ones. Tis will make o you, an outpost or Hierarchy. It is a training in the art o ‘dying so that something greater can live through you’. It is an art that all in Hierarchy must perect, and involves the overcoming o the ear that something is lost i ‘identity’ is surrendered at the level o ‘soul’. Te so-called soul on the mental plane is merely the wrapping o the buddhic entity in ahamkaric matter. Te surrender o the ‘identity’ is the way in which the mental matter is released and the soul returns into its group identication within the ashram upon the buddhic plane. Your separate identity is only an illusion created by the operation o the Law o Fixation upon the mental plane. When you allow the Law o Magnetic Control to be more powerul it ‘pulls the soul ree’ into buddhi through bringing the lower aspect o manas upon the mental plane into relationship with its higher aspect upon the atmic plane.

Te process has shaken up my system more than I would have imagined. And yes, all things considered, I want to proceed. Te leading edge is those times when I totally open, and o course that is when the most useul and clear inormation comes through, but it is also the time that the sessions have most aect on me. DK: My perspective is slightly dierent. When I ‘look’ towards you I see a light and as I shine my consciousness upon that light it becomes more radiant and expansive. You respond to this by recognising that you are being 174
impacted by energy outside your own system. Ten you reach towards me as the source o that energy with trust and devotion. It allows my consciousness to approach more closely to yours. Te next step is or me to ask you, or a time to letit my only pervade eld, is but take overconsciousness and direct it.not Tis means that your my mind directing the mental matter o your mind or the period o the transmission. I am ormulating it into new patterns which you are then writing. Obviously, the quality o your own thinking will have prepared the mental matter and built into it the required capacity. I must work with those who are already prepared and willing or me to lit them to another level. Te benet to you is that once I have worked through your mind, the substance will have had its vibration raised and new connections made. Te requirements are that you surrender or a time your control o the eld. Te crucial issue or me is whether or not you will be able to do this on a sustained and regular basis. Do you trust me enough to surrender and even i you do, will you do so? I do not sense any problem with the capacity i you are willing to make time and then sincerely attempt the process.

May 7 2002 We are beginning a new phase o work with you, both as an individual and as a group eld. Just as the time comes when the ocus o attention on the development o the personality stops and then begins to occur as a by-product o the use o the personality by the soul, so a similar process occurs on higher levels. Te soul builds the causal body (develops it) over many lives and then there comes a time when the development is complete and the causal body is merely used as a transmitter o the energy and Purpose o the monad. As a by-product, a result o the ow through o energy, the causal body is thus brought to the highpoint o its unoldment, becomes radioactive and is eventually destroyed in the process. Tis is the outcome eventually o the ‘path o re’. Rather than spending time building more into the causal eld through study and contemplation, the emphasis shits to distribution. Te ‘inbreath’ o the causal body does not arise rom the three worlds any longer—it descends rom the monad. Te outbreath goes into the three worlds and also throughout the abstract mental plane. As the ‘breath’ is brought down rom the monad this allows the ‘identity’ to ascend. Tis is like the Seventh Ray equivalent to an earlier Sixth Ray process when the soul attempts to reach up or ‘breathe out’ to the monad. Te link has now been established and the ow is reversed. As monadic energy pours into and eventually destroys the causal eld, the inner man is gradually released rom the illusion o a xed identity. Te Law o Fixation rules on the mental plane and identity is ‘ormalised’—rstly on the abstract levels as the causal body rom which the soul incarnates, and secondly, in any one lie as a personal ‘identity’ on the lower mental, astral and etheric/physical planes. 176

Attempt to spend more time ‘ree’ rom the causal eld— this can be done through the act o identication with the ashram—attempt to ‘see’ your own causal body, those o the group and those o the worldwide group with which I am working as contents o one eld. Tis is the view that a Master has and can thereore support in your consciousness i you are able to relax the ‘identity’ muscle. It is rather like the ‘magic eye’ books—a certain relaxation o the ocus occurs and a three-dimensional image comes into view. A certain relaxation o the identity occurs and then, rstly the causal bodies ooyour group (this o would indicate a location identity on are theperceived rst subplane the mental plane) and then the ashram as a whole is ‘seen’ when the location o identity (or should I say when what is let o the being once identity is taken away) is on the buddhic plane. All discussion about whether or not there is an ‘individual monad’ belongs to the mental plane. On the buddhic plane there is only a shared realisation o identity with the ashram and the perception o greater ‘identications’ that will take place on higher levels. Tere is a ‘science’ that relates to the building o the higher 177

Just as the soul becomes actively involved once the personality has completed the dedicated work o contact, so the monad becomes actively involved once the soul/personality usion has reached a certain stage. the higher andit lower are completed rom bothBoth directions. In act is onlystrands consciousness which is being completed; the antahkarana itsel ever exists and is eventually recognised as the source o Lie itsel when the consciousness is able to extend rom the monad to the base chakra o the personal sel. Tis higher science has everything to do with the Shamballa mysteries. Shamballa energy is now impacting humanity directly. Tis is equivalent to the monad impacting the personality. In order to complete the triangle, the personality must be able to respond directly, thus closing the circuit. Man must be educated in his personal waking consciousness about the relationship to the monad but this must only occur when the soul and personality have achieved a certain level o integration. Te descent o soul energy into the personal vehicles produces glamour and illusion initially. Te descent o monadic energy into the soul crisis. alsoglamours true—it and is the light o theproduces soul which is Te able reverse to clearisthe illusions o the personality. It is the lie o the monad which is able to resolve the crises o the incarnated soul. Beore the Second Initiation, there is no contact o any real conscious nature with the monad. Te crisis o the astral nature at the Second degree is so great that the point o tension created opens the channel to the monad or the rst time. Crisis invokes response. Once the disciple understands this process they can eventually invoke monadic energy at will. Crisis is now the result o the invocation and not the cause. Te soul is being in eect ‘evoked’ by 178
the monad. Te inowing ‘Lie’ has become much more attractive to the individual and this attraction is strong enough to oset the negative experiences that the lower nature endures as a result. Tis process culminates in the Fourth Initiation.

October 15 2002 I have some personal instructions or you this morning. I would like our work to enter into a new phase that involves a deeper training in surrender. Up until now I have been putting ideas into your mind and you have been developing them yoursel. For the advanced teaching that I am intending to impart I will need to have a greater degree o control over the process. Tis will mean that you must be able to surrender more ully to my consciousness and to allow it to express more ully without the intererence o your own mind. Tis is why you are experiencing an aversion to thought and to mental processes as I seek to liberate your consciousness rom its identication with the mental plane. In order or me to do this work you must be able to abstract yoursel—to move your soul consciousness higher—to rest in the inner place o peace while I am writing through you. You will experience this as an intensely restul and blissul experience and your training is to be able to hold this point o inner ocus and tension or longer and longer periods. It is a denite training. Te more ully you are able to hold this inner alignment the more ully I will be able to use your vehicles and thereore the more vital inormation I will be able to deliver. I your consciousness is present and trying to understand and lter all the inormation as it comes through, then a much longer and more laborious process results. I am in eect then limited by the limitations o your consciousness—the result will be work that is on the outer limits o what you are able to penetrate into yoursel, aided by my energy. I seek to do something more however. o give inormation which is beyond that which you are capable 180
o presently understanding—inormation which will be useul to students studying in years to come. o do this I must be able to bypass the intelligence in you which seeks to understand, and merely express inormation through you. this ‘out you o willcontrol’—however need to experience greater degreeoodo being i ayou do this correctly your consciousness will be restored and renewed as it rests in the high place. Your benet will come as a result o being able to move aside or periods o time. Te experience is somewhat like being able to die while you are still alive. You, as a soul, merely surrender your vehicles and return to a deeper ocus in the ashram and more and more, the monad. Tis opens a greater door between inner and outer existence, allowing you to rejuvenate yoursel as a soul. You must remember that the capacity to liberate onesel as a soul is not necessarily related to the capacity or wisdom. At the Tird degree you are able to conquer ‘death’ and travel more easily between the inner and outer worlds. Tis is a stage that marks the end o the soul’s education in the three worlds and the beginning o the higher education o the soul as it seeks to worlds work consciously in impart the veinormation worlds. As aorMaster o the ve I am able to concepts which express this experience so that disciples will be able to make more rapid progress as a result o preparation or what lies ahead o them. You must learn to move aside and trust this process without trying to control it. Te control comes rom a two-old concern. Te rst is that you ear the quality and accuracy o the inormation—you attempt to overcome this by ltering it through what you already know and thus limit what can come through. In order to overcome this ear I suggest you take the experimental approach. Continue to use your time

on Wednesday morning or writing which you share with your group. Ten make some more time available, while you are prepared and still resh or cutting edge writing where you attempt to move urther aside in the process. Share this with say a month or no two.one but evaluate it yoursel over time— Te second ear is more difcult to overcome. You ear being ‘taken over’ by me. Tis is a result o your identication with your causal body. Te analogy in the three worlds is the ear o someone else’s emotions working through your physical body. In the latter analogy, you must be able to say ‘no’ to the process rst in order to later surrender yoursel to merging with another. When the merging is unconscious and particularly when the merging is against your will, then damage occurs and ear results. You can work to overcome this ear by remembering that you are the ‘sovereign’ o your own vehicles and have choice over when and how they are used. Te other side o the ear is a desire to leave and not return which maniests as a desire to be ‘taken over’ and let someone else be responsible or your lie. Tisworlds work isis only when individual in the three ully possible responsible oran their own soul purpose and expression AND in addition makes time or their vehicles to be available or a higher purpose—in this case to be utilised by my consciousness in order to express a body o teaching. Te point to remember is that when you are identied with and thereore ‘invested’ in the ‘notsel’ you become both protective o that ‘not sel’ and desirous o being liberated rom it at the same time. Tese are conicting impulses and they can be experienced by the soul in relationship to the causal body as well as by the emotional body in relationship to the physical body. Te 182
key is disidentication resulting in disinvestment. Tis is the very thing you will achieve by liting your ocus higher or longer and longer periods to dwell in the inner sanctuary. As a by-product o this process, you will also develop a greater trust indeveloped me and nd vehicles much more rapidly as a that resultyour o their brieare ‘inhabiting’ by my consciousness. So let us attempt something o this: Begin with this seed thought —‘As a soul I am Master o my personality. It is my eld o expression and the way by which I learn to maniest my purpose. I now willingly surrender that eld or (specic period o time) in order or it to be used by He who is Master o me in the same way that I am Master o my personality. Tis surrender is accomplished through the active principle o Love.’
