Regiments and Corps MAF regiments and corps can be divided into 3 groups based on their function and expertise. In addition there are a special task group and reserve group. Table below show the regiments and corps of the Malaysian Army and its insignia. Included is also the regiment and corps' vehicle identification symbols usually can be found on vehicles and artillery pieces. Please see Unit Identification Guide section if you need help on how to identify the unit using the vehicle identification symbols.

Descr Description
The Roya Royal Malay Malay Regiment Regiment is oldest re regiment in the MA. It admits only Malays following its namesake and forms the backbone of MA with 25 battalions total. For more information on RAMD battalions please see the Infantry Corps. Corps . The Royal Rangers Regiment has the oldest history starting with the formation of Sarawak Rangers in 1862. It's now the multi-racial version version of the RAMD with a total total strength of 9 battalions. For more information on RRD battalions please see the Infantry Corps. Corps.
