Lesson: The fundamental rules of pick-up I. 3-Second Rule. Do not wait more than 3-seconds to approach
II. Set a goal for yourself. Do not set outcome dependent goals. Ex: Approach at least 1 women every day. Getting into those kinds of habits breeds skill and results, no matter how small the goal is. Once the goal becomes second nature, it’s time to increase your goal.
III. Saying something is always better than saying nothing. a) When you see someone you want to approach b) When you are in an interaction * What’s important is that you always learn something
IV. When going to bars, clubs, and lounges to practice pick up, make sure you do not drink too much.
V. Don’t take anything personally. No rejection only feedback. a) You don’t know what is going on in her world b) She doesn’t know you as a person
VI. Find the positive in every situation. Exercise 1: What’s positive about approaching a woman that is rude and “shuts you out”? Exercise 2: What’s positive about letting an opportunity pass you by?
VII. Have conversations with people everywhere a) Store clerks, people in line, cashiers, etc. b) Make eye contact and say “hi” to people you pass by. c) Positivity is contagious and attractive. Ex: When clerks ask, “how are you?” say “I am doing fantastic I just X” X=daily demonstration or higher value, explanation of why you are doing so great, anything extra you can think of, etc.
VIII. Inner Game Assignment: Start a success journal and write in it ever time you do an approach. Only write about the positive experience and what you learned (i.e. what you got out of it)
VII. Infield Assignment: Make eye contact with everyone you come in contact with and everyone in your proximity. If they make any sort of eye contact back then just nod and say “hi”, “what’s up”, “how’s it going?”, etc.
