What is the PIN Pad Used For? The PIN pad is used to manage and control the alarm system in your branch. It grants users access to the building and/or access to selected areas of the building. Using the PIN pad, you can add users and let them define their password (PIN), give users specific access, delete users and perform alarm tests.

1.0 Setting Up, Changing or Deleting PIN Numbers and User IDs User IDs are two digit numbers from 01-99. The user ID corresponds to a role or title of a person who uses the associated PIN. There is only one PIN per user ID. You must use the USER IDs defined below. In the future, other user IDs may be reserved for use only by the Event Monitoring Center, but you will be notified in advance so they can be changed. See section 3.0 for a list of functionality that is provided for each Access Type.

Visiting/Temporary Employees A grouping of numbers (60-99) is reserved for visitors and other people who may need access to the alarm system. When the ID is no longer needed, make sure to delete it (see section 1.3). Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) are 4 digit numbers which the individual user assigns to themself. If the system requests a PIN number, this means the combination of the user ID first (2 digits) followed by the PIN (4 digits) should be: 01 followed by the unique four digit PIN he selected (2233) = PIN number of 012233. The Branch Manager is usually given the authority to set up PINs. The Manager will identify which user ID to use and then set it up in the alarm system. They will ask each User to enter their 4 digit code and then re enter it to confirm it. ANYONE ACCESSING THE SYSTEM MUST ENTER THEIR OWN USER ID & PIN. Depending on how your system was configured, you may have to enter them separately. You will know because the system will either ask you for a User ID or a PIN. First enter your user ID (2 digits) + ENT (enter), then your 4 digit PIN + ENT. The unit will beep as you key. A long beep after you enter your PIN means the system recognizes your PIN as a valid PIN for this branch.

You must have type 1 access to use this function. The person must be with you to enter his/her new PIN.

1.3 Deleting a User ID and PIN Refer to your user ID log regularly and delete User IDs when employees leave the bank, or as floaters and utility staff are no longer needed. Follow these steps to remove users: Your access type

3.0 Access Types and What They Mean types of access that are set up on the Security System. It is coincidental that to the roles defined here and the roles assigned to User IDs are similar. Type 1 Type -- Full Branch functionality. This is used for all Branch Managers and Lead Teller. Note, the Branch Manager may also delegate Pin Management to another branch employee. If they do this, they need to ensure that they upgrade that employees Pin Code to "type 1" Allows Pin Management, Allows access to all areas, Testing Mode (for alarm tests), Open and Close activation, Stay Late Mode, Day/Night Mode, Work Late Mode. Only one delegate should be selected and there should be no more than two type 1 users at any branch. Type 2 Type This access is used for any Personal Bankers, Relationship Managers, Tellers and visiting Managers who are required to test alarms as well as open or close the branch. Allows access to Day/Night Mode, Testing Mode (for alarm tests), Work Late Mode. Type 3 Type Access This access is used for any branch staff or Market personnel that may be required to open or close the branch. Allows access to Day/Night Mode, Work Late Mode. Other Type access. This type is used for ATM Teams, Couriers and Cleaners. For Key, this access type has only been defined to include perimeter alarms (door contacts and motion detection).
4.0 Standardized PIN Codes and Managing Your User IDs The Branch Manager usually manages the IDs for their Branch. You should keep a simple list of the IDs that are reuse a User ID that is already in use! Use the PACOM User ID Log to record information for your branch. Do not record actual PINs in this grid just use it to remember what IDs are already being used! The PACOM User ID Log can be found on the Physical Security Solutions website under forms & training materials.
5.0 Keeping your PIN Secure Please follow these security precautions to ensure a secure wo
team:
1. Only reset PINs for those people in your office. Do not change any PINs for Couriers, Cleaners, or Contract staff (e.g. JCI). If they have a problem with their PIN they should contact their management or Event Monitoring Center.
2. When resetting a PIN for an employee, do not enter it for them. They should be with you at the PIN Pad to enter their numbers they enter.
3. DO NOT write down your PIN. PINs selected should be numbers that you remember easily and to write them down.
4. Do not share your PIN with anyone else. If you do, ask your manager to delete your PIN and set up a new one. 5. You and your team must change their PINS every 6 months. Use your PIN Access Log to keep track of when your team last changed their PINS.

6.0 Alarm Testing Refer to the Safety and Security Manual for specific procedures for conducting an alarm test. Tests must be done annually and a log maintained to record when you performed the test. 1. Call the Event Monitoring Center (800-539-2188) prior to conducting your alarm test. 2. You will be instructed to enter your duress code on the Pacom pin pad to confirm connectivity. A duress alarm can be sent by increasing the last digit of the PIN by 1. For example, if your PIN is is12345, a duress code would be 12346. 3. When the duress signal is confirmed by EMC, enter Day mode with your proper PIN to reset. 4. Move the alarm system into Test Mode (see instructions below). This will ensure that none of the alarms you will be testing register at the alarm center as real alarms. 5. Test all alarms throughout the branch. 6. Return the system back to Day Mode once the test is completed. 7. Report any issues with the alarm test to the EMC and your Physical Security Manager.

7.0 Frequently Asked Questions Will the PACOM PIN panel lock me out if I enter the wrong PIN? Like lots of PC applications, you have 3 tries to enter your PIN correctly. Please key carefully. If you lock yourself out, call the Event Monitoring Center and they will reset you. Be prepared to tell the Monitoring Center your Branch Identifier so that they can confirm that you are at the right branch and that you are not in distress. Oops, I forgot my PIN. If you forget your PIN, your branch manager can delete your PIN and you can enter a new number. See your branch manager, or the person in your office who sets up PINs for your branch. How long do I have to get my PIN entered? When you first come into the branch you have 90 seconds to place the branch in day mode. Please do this as soon as you have verified that the branch is secured, and before you set the all clear signal. If you have motion detection in the branch, you will hear a distinctive beeping as you cross motion sensors walking through the branch. This is normal. Can I change my own PIN? If you have PIN Management Access (i.e. you set up your own pin initially), then you can change your PIN. (See Section 1.2 for more information). If you did not, then you must see the Branch Manager or other resource in your office that has PIN Management access to help you reset your pin. Will the system force me to change my PIN? No, but it is corporate policy to change your PIN every 180 days (6 months). Ask the person in your office who has PIN Management access to help you reset your PIN. Will my PIN work at other offices? No. If you plan to be working at another office and need access to their alarm system, work with the Branch Manager to set up your PIN as soon as you arrive. If you are a roving staff member who needs access to the security system, you may have a PIN set up in o ther offices, but each one needs to be set up locally at each branch. You may use the same 6 digit PIN in every location, as long as that User ID is not currently in use. If you are a substitute Manager, you need to make sure your PIN is set up before you arrive at the branch as to avoid a false alarm. You can also call the Event Monitoring Center when you arrive if you are the only one there who has security system access. Be prepared to give the Event Monitoring Center the Branch Identifier of the branch where you are not in distress. If you are leaving your branch permanently or transferring to an other office, give the branch manager your ID and ask the Manager to delete your PIN. What if I forget to set the branch to night mode? The last person out of the branch at night should secure the branch by placing it in Night Mode (see Section 2.0). If you forget, you should return to the branch and move the branch into night mode. If you cannot return to the branch, you may call the Event Monitoring Center and they can set the branch remotely for you, but please call them for this service only if you cannot return to secure the branch in a reasonable period of time. You will need to give the Alarm Operator your Branch Identifier so that he may verify your authority to make this request.
Standard working hours are programmed into the unit, usually 8AM 6PM local time. Outside hours are those hours other than the standard working hours. User ID/PIN every 15 minutes. This access alone is reserved for couriers and other users who are expected to be in the branch for short periods. What are the lights around the outside of the PIN pad for (A1, A2, etc,)? The lights indicate areas of the branch. Alarm access can be controlled by area, but at Key, there are very few branches that use multiple areas.
