The CVC CVC was set set up on February 11, 1964.

The CVC CVC is considered to be the country’s anti-corruption watch dog.

The President has inaugurated inaugurated the golden jubilee jubilee celebrations celebrations of CVC on February 11, 2014.

BACK GROUND: ü

The CVC CVC was set up on the recommendations of the committee committee on Prevention of  Corruption headed by K. Santhanam.

ü

The purpose is to advise advice and guide guide the central cent ral government government agencies in in the field of  vigilance.

ü

The CVC CVC enjoys the statutory statutory status with effect from August August 25, 1998.

STRENGTH:

ü

The Commission Commission shall consist of a Central Centra l Vigi Vigilance lance Commissioner and not more than two vigilance commissioners.
