ABOUT FACT The Fertilizers And Chemicals Travancore Ltd., (FACT) is India’s pioneering chemical fertilizer manufacturer, located near Cochin in Kerala State, South India. Since inception in 1944, they have witnessed a phenomenal transformation from a manufacturer of fertilizers to a multi-dimensional corporate entity engaged in the manufacture of various fertilizers, allied chemical products, petrochemicals; engineering services, fabrication, design, R&D and consultancy services. DIVISIONS Units of FACT include the two manufacturing divisions – Udyogamandal complex (UC) and Cochin division (CD). We visited the Cochin Division on 23.04.2011. The division lies in close proximity to the Cochin refineries. • • •
FACT Engineering and Design Organization: this division was established in the year 1965 for the sustained growth of chemical fertilizer industry. Petrochemical Division: The petrochemical division was established in 1990 for manufacturing caprolactum. Udyogamandal Division: This division looks after the production of ammonium sulphate and was set up in the year 1947.
