Background of the study
Going to spa is one of the in demands way not only for the women but also for the men to relax and remove stress from their chores, works and travel. These spas which offer massage can improve not only external body but also internal just like blood flow to the muscles and reduce stress. In fact, from day spas to weekend spas to weeklong spa getaways, this form of "healthy" relaxation has become so popular that in 2006 survey gathered by the International Spa Association (ISPA) reports one-quarter of all American adults - some 57 million folks - plus 4 million teens had at least one visit to a spa. The word “spa” may be derived from the Walloon word “espa” meaning fountain. This, in turn, came from the name of the Belgian town Spa, where in the 14th century a curative, thermal spring was discovered. Spa may also originate from the Latin word “spagere” (to scatter, sprinkle, moisten) or may be an acronym of the Latin phrase “sanitas per aquas” (health through water). According to Wikipedia, the term spa is associated with water treatment which is also known as balneotherapy. The practice of bathing in hot springs and mineral waters dates at least to the Babylonians and Greeks. Here in the Philippines, most especially in CALABARZON, there are several of choices to choose from. Batangas, one of the provinces that are known for its good climate fits the location of Spa and Wellness Centers. One of the places that offers Spa relaxation is Tanauan City,Batangas. The city of Tanauan is a (Filipino: Lungsod ng Tanauan) is a first class city in the province of Batangas, Philippines. According to the latest census, it has a population of 152,393 inhabitants in 30, 354 households. Several of The Spa and Wellness Centers are in operation and starting to be known in particular places. If the strategies used by the centers can help in increasing the sustainability development
of each. This study aims to promote and foster a better working relation between the costumers and staff, and the environment and the Spa and wellness Centers in Tanauan City, Batangas, for it to obtain promotion of Tourism industry.

Scope This is primarily concentrated on the Sustainability Development of the Spa and wellness Centers in TanauanCity, Batangas. The researchers come up with in order to know the different sustainability development strategies used by such spa and wellness centers. Those resorts that the researchers focused on are the five existing Spa and Wellness Centers in Tanauan City, Batangas. One of which is the Sona Spa……Since many Spa and wellness Centers provide a variety of facilities and services, the researchers’ decided to broaden the capability of the study by the help of the respondents. This study focused on the Spa and Wellness operators which helps us know the origin or history of Spa and wellness Centers with their confidentiality. And also the costumer who serve as the adding information about what they have experience by giving comments and opinions about the said resorts. The respondents feedback to the establishment’s marketing strategy was determined by the survey that was developed and conducted by the researchers. Since the sustainability development is connected to the marketability,,the survey included some questions in these aspects. Furthermore, the results that identified the costumers feedback along the marketing areas had become the basis of some part of the recommendation.

The study may also help the owner on other improvements and developments that may be implemented to meet the customer’s expectation and satisfaction. The management. This study has significance to the management in other to provide source of information regarding the establishment to promote the common services rendered. The sustainability researchers. this research may serve as a guide and an example to clearly explain to their students the process of making an effective sustainability research. The future researchers. The future researchers can benefit with this study in order to provide them broad ideas and knowledge to gather information about the spa and wellness centers and provide source of information.
