2. INSTALLATION SPACE AND POWER CAPACITY Checkpoints for Installation Work 1 Prepare an installation layout beforehand to ensure that overall construction and installation work is completed smoothly. 2 Make preparations for necessary piping (e.g., water supply, overflow, exhaust) and electrical work simultaneously with foundation work needed to connect this equipment. 3 Review your contract with the electric power company for electric supply, and alter the contract to complete wiring work beforehand, if necessary. 4 When using tap water or public water, be sure to ask the local waterworks utility to perform piping work. 5 Overflow treatment is required before draining. If access to an overflow treatment facility is not available, contact an authorized waste collecting agent.

Hold down the mouse using a clamp, so that it does not fall. - For preventing FBS (SCSI) cables from dropping under its own weight, use nylon clamps attached to the table. Hold down the power cable at upper shelf y with one clamp, and hold down the SCSI cable at left of column z with two clamps. (Use truss screws (M4 x 12) for each, three screws in total.) NOTE Check that the FBS glass is not cracked.
5) Mount the rubber cover a using doublefaced tape (3 positions).

6) Switch LOCK on FBS to "UNLOCK," turn the TERMINATOR "ON," and check that SCSI ID is "3."
- The IEEE1394 must be connected to the designated position. Connect it as shown in the figure above. - Improper connection may result in slow processing speed.

(4) Check the paper drying conditions.
POINT - Drying temperature may be adjusted according to the ambient temperature or humidity
of the installation site. - If the system is installed at a place that allows significant seasonal changes in temperature and humidity, periodical change of settings may be required. - The need for adjustment is judged in accordance with the paper curls and aligning status in the sorter. - Insufficiently or excessively dry paper may cause jam or poor paper alignment in the sorter.
(5) If the system is installed on a soft floor (e.g. on a carpet, etc.) the level made upon installation may become incorrect due to the weight of the device. Level must be made again at a later date.

6-2. Precautions on Wiring (1) Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI)
A circuit breaker must be installed at each branch point to the film processor (CL-KP46E/TQA, CL-KP46E/U/TJ-A), printer processor. (2) GFCI's fault current detecting sensitivity
A GFCI with a sensitivity of 30 mA is normally used. If a more sensitive GFCI is attached to another branch circuit, however, use a GFCI with even higher sensitivity. (3) GND (grounding)
For connecting the ground cable, be sure to use a single ground line, not a neutral line. If a single ground line is not available, perform additional construction work as required. (4) Wiring materials used Model
Review the following when connecting other equipment to the same distribution panel as the NPS-8 SUPER series. 1 Unbalance rate 2 Capacity of circuit breaker attached to main circuit 3 Additional GFCIs needed to protect other equipment

6-3. Wiring on the Main Body
- Before starting operations, make sure that the breaker for the power distribution board has been turned off. - Make sure that ground cable is connected to the ground terminal.
6-6. Connecting the Power Cable (Including wiring materials) (1) Read the voltage across the terminals on the line side of the circuit breaker in the distribution panel. Also check the voltage frequency (50/60 Hz). (2) Check carefully that the distribution panel breaker and printer-processor power switch are both turned off. Note: Be absolutely sure the circuit is dead when connecting the power cable. (3) Remove the Cover Assy of the processor. (4) Procure a power cable conforming to the specifications shown in [6-1. Connection to the Distribution Panel]. Connect one end of the cable to the distribution panel, and the other to TB1. Connect the ground cable and the active power cables to the terminals specified in the connecting specifications. Fix the cabtyre cable with the strain relief strap. Secure the cable with the band. (5) Return the Cover Assy to its original position. [UB type]

6-7. Calculating Equipment Heating Values To maintain proper work environment from 18°C to 28°C, calculate the heating values of all equipment used to determine the cooler (air conditioner) capacity required in the workroom. How to calculate: Conversion table based on English Standard 1 KVAI = 56.87 BTU/min. 1 Kcal = 3.968 BTU Item
CL-KP46EQA/J-A
R1 SUPER / R1 SUPER 1400
Power consumption
6.0 kW (AC 240V)
2.9 kW (AC 240V)
Conditions
Set to 60% in consideration of dryer efficiency and system operability.
Heating value
3095.75 Kcal
Selection of cooler
Total: 4592 Kcal or higher
1496.25 Kcal
Calculation formula (example): 6.0 kW (240 VAC) 6.0 x 56.87 =22 BTU/min. 341.22 x 60/3.968 = 5159.58 cal/H Assuming the dryer efficiency and system operability of 60%: 51.59.58 x 60% =3095/75 Kcal/H Note: R1 SUPER / R1 SUPER 1400 system, the heating value of can be calculated as above, but be sure to add the heating value if there are any objects which generate heat.

7. SETUP 7-1. Work station section and Printer section Setup
(1) Set film carrier parameters 1 Note the correction values indication on the label of back panel of 135AFC, 240AFC(option) and UFC(option).
When 240AFC or universal carrier is set, tag will be changed to 240AFC or universal carrier. (2) Film Scanner Scanning Position Adjustment (Main Direction)
Display/Specify Zoom internal setting value Display/Specify a value currently set Display/Specify the number of pixels in main scanning direction Display/Specify the number of pixels in sub scanning direction Scan a blank under the specified scanning conditions, and calculate shift amount. Display shift amount of a carrier currently mounted. After scanning, display a found shift amount. Register main scanning shift amount Cancel the process and return to previous screen.
Because iris fixation has been applied to R1 SUPER 1400 and newer machines, the light quantity ratio table for each magnification will be created when executing the zoom setup. By using this table, at the time of the scanner setup, the light source value is obtained by adding the value from the light quantity ratio table to the air modulated light value that has been obtained by zoom magnification No.0 so as to conduct shading correction.
