1 Installation & Testing Requirements Single Dwelling Unit (SDU) and Multi Dwelling Unit (MDU) Service Classes consist of the following activities:

Install NBN lead-in
Install PCD/ICD/ICD Enclosure
Install tie cable, wall-plate, fly-lead & (splitter if required)
Verify from fly-lead RF Level, MER & Pre- BER (tables 4&5)

1.3 Activities The installation of new Premises consists of the following sequence:

2 OPTUS Network Channels and Signal Levels 2.1 Optus Tap Output Levels / PCD The RG-6/RG-11 Lead In consists of the following activities:
Tap Port: Verify forward RF levels (table 1) and connect the lead-in to the tap port
PCD / ICD: Perform digital proof of performance and terminate lead in.
To calculate signal levels at the PCD/ICD please use the insertion & attenuation assumptions provided

2.2 Wall-plate Verify the RF levels at the end of the fly-lead. If a two way splitter is installed connect and verify RF levels from the end of the fly-lead connected to the two way splitter.
Ensure cable losses (attenuation) & insertion losses have been calculated to validate the correct signal levels at the wall-plate.
2.3 Optus Wall-plate Digital Proof of performance Please ensure that all Optus & NBN downstream channels meet the following acceptance levels:

4.0 Upstream Testing 4.1 Tap & Wall-plate
The VeEx CX150/350 meters can operate as a DOCSIS 3.0/3.1 modem.
By testing at the wall-plate the ability of the cable modem to obtain a return channel path can be identified.
If there is too much attenuation or noise in the return path the meter will need to transmit at an excessively high level.
By testing at the tap this will confirm origin of the return path problem, ie, end user premises or network
