Tige cylindrique, généralement en acier ou un autre métal, un autre matériau synthétique ou du bois, insérée dans un trou préalablement foré et qui permet la transmission d’efforts perpendiculairement à son axe. Substance adhésive, généralement liquide, qui permet un assemblage par contact après durcissement de deux pièces en bois. En raison de l’emploi presque exclusif de substances liquides, on ne fera pas de différence entre colles et adhésifs dans la présente norme. Matériau en forme de plaque obtenu par collage d’un nombre impair de plis dont les fibres des couches extérieures sont parallèles et dont les couches intermédiaires sont disposées alternativement à environ 90°. Goujons sollicités principalement en cisaillement et en compression. Les goujons annulaires (anneaux) sont logés dans des rainures fraisées à cet effet, les crampons sont enfoncés dans le bois par pression. Rapport entre la masse de bois avec une teneur en eau définie et son volume.
Éléments de matériaux de grandes dimensions (plaques, poutres) obtenus par l’assemblage d’éléments de bois plus petits tels que planches, panneaux, copeaux et fibres. Assemblage oblique de deux pièces de charpente concourantes, sollicité à la compression et au cisaillement simple.
