Time is precious. There are many ways by which a teenager can spend his time beneficially. Reading, by and large, is one of the best ways ever to spend time constructively. Reading educational and informative materials helps a teen to widen his knowledge and makes him more confident of himself, thus allowing him to present himself more positively to the community. A teen who knows how to manage his time will know that spending time reading books in a library is definitely more worthwhile than playing computer games at a cybercafe. The universal truth is that, a well-read person is widely received in a society and is highly commended too. Exercising and sports are other ways to spend time. By doing these physical activities, the teen is able to maintain a strong and healthy body. With a fit body and healthy mind, the teen is able to concentrate fully on his studies too. Teens should also spend some time lessening the burden of their parents by helping them with their daily chores. Lending a helping hand with the household chores trains the teen to be more responsible and independent. A responsible teen is often the root of a happy and harmonious family. Participating in social services also fills a teen's time preciously. The teen can cheer up the children and old folks at their respective homes by spending some quality time with them. They can teach the children and read out jokes to the old folks. The teen will eventually realise that making these people happy is never comparable with any other things that a teen can ever achieve in his life! Spending time with the children and old folks will somehow make a teen more responsible towards his own siblings and parents. Besides the above, a teen can also spend his free time by doing some part-time jobs. This again will help him lessen his parents' financial burdens and make him a more responsible person. Most of the teens today are much outgoing and enjoy doing part-time jobs to earn some extra pocket money, especially during long school holidays. They gain some invaluable working experience too. In short, as time is precious, spending some quality time doing only the necessary things will make a teen's life more meaningful than just chattering away for hours with friends meaninglessly. Socialising is important too, but not to the extent of wasting the teen's precious time. A teen who manages his time efficiently will eventually grow up to be a much responsible and reliable adult.
