6. Hunter Mud Cleaner Aipu produce a line of mud cleaners employed two stages separation process for the drilling fluid recovery or process. Hunter mud cleaner combined with desander cones and desilter cones mounted over the bottom shaker.

Drilling waste management— Oil based drilling mud Status

Oil based mud also refers to oil based drilling fluid. Basic content is oil, water, organic clay and some oil soluble chemicals. Oil based mud is anti-high temperature, anti-corrosive to calcium citrate. It benefit much to keep well wall stable. It has good lubrication feature but has little damage to oil and gas layer. It is widely used in onshore and offshore well drilling. However, the base oil – diesel will produce poisonous aromatic hydrocarbons the poison level will increase according to aromatic hydrocarbons percentage The environmental regulations are more and more strict especially the limit of disposal poisonous content of offshore drilling . Former oil based mud process system can not meet new regulations anymore. Although solids control equipment can recover the barite and some useful liquid the metal and chemicals (oil content is 12%~18%) . If we dispose these products freely the plant and ground will be polluted deeply. Human beings will be punished via worse environment and health

Result

Aipu now has designed the oil based drilling waste management unit. The design is from years practice on oil well drilling. The APVCD-900 is key equipment processing oil based drilling waste. The solid disposed contains oil is about 4% by weight meet the new standard and cut down the disposal as well as cost.

Main procedure Fluids with cutting discharged from shaker will be transferred to cutting dryer via screw conveyor. When the products

arrive in cuttings dryer the adjustable knives will push fluid to screen. Under the centrifugal force of large cones the process fluid will be separated as clean mud and dry cuttings. The cutting solid will be disposed via output while the

clean fluid will flow out via fluid effluent exit. Recovered fluid will be collected together and transferred to high speed decanter centrifuge via screw pump. The fluid processed by centrifuge will return to drilling mud system for reuse.

Cuttings after processed by dryer can be delivered away for further drying. If we don’t reuse the fluid discharged from centrifuge we can add some chemicals do further process then the fluids can be disposed safely.

Drilling waste management – water based drilling mud Status

Problem

Target

So long time we drill well mainly use the water based drilling mud. The drilling waste management technology developed more than oil based ones. On shore drilling the process is local solidification or harmless process. Its cost is rather low but usually only suitable for big basin drilling site. However, well drilling will be processed at environmental sensitive region the traditional process can not meet the new requirement or regulations anymore. New harmless management technology should be developed urgently

The drilling waste has been dedicated on《Dangerous waste list》with strict rules. The effluent liquid must conform to GB8978-1996《Sewage discard standard》. Presently, in China the general environment process level is low since little investment. The effect and technology is poor as well. The drilling waste harmless management also limit our oil and gas exploration in some degree

After processing, the liquid effluent in water based drilling waste must be conform with GB8978-1996《 Sewage discard standard 》(Grade II)
