WALL FORMWORK CRANE-HANDLED
LOGIK ® 60
Description
The LOGIK ® 60 panel system for crane handling produces 60kN/m2 concrete pressure resistance from a robust panel. The panel is surface-finished with a robust hot-dip galvanising to give longer life and lower maintenance, resulting in reduced costs. Manufactured to tight tolerances, panels are clamped rigidly together with a unique alignment, locking and levelling ALL Clamp with a single hammer blow. This action is so secure that form assemblies can then be crane-handled without additional structural members. A large number of re-uses are then feasible without the need for time-consuming stripping down.
The panels feature a special rolled steel profile 140mm in depth that combines with high quality 18mm plywood. This is supported at 300mm centres and edgesealed in polyurethane. Multiple tie holes allow for tie rods/plates, all of which are positioned for maximum panel stiffness and strength. Flexibility
The LOGIK ® 60 system features a full range of sizes that offer the flexibility to cope with a wide variety of situations encountered. Single sided forms
SGB LOGIK ® 60 panels can also be used to form single-sided wall forms in conjunction with SGB MULTIFORM components in an A-Frame configuration.
Standard panel forms
Standard panel forms can be employed for highly rigid, high-quality finishes in column forms with a wide variety of different column size options. Avoids the need for time-consuming timber and waling assemblies, by utilising the strength of the novel column coupler component. Windmill column forms
Windmill column forms link all four formwork faces together in a mobile unit which can be wheeled into position. They can be adjusted to create square or rectangular columns, maintaining their configuration when moved making them fast and simple to locate and use. Circular (polygonal) forms
Standard LOGIK ® panels can be used to create impressive circular (polygonal) structures in conjunction with the use of their versatile panel clamps and tie plates.

Description
Flexibility
Column forms
LOGIK ® 50 is a 50kN/m2 strength, versatile panel system with unit weights of approximately 35kg/m2. This makes it suitable for projects requiring manhandling capability where crane access is restricted or impractical.
The component solutions are fast, flexible and offer a good standard of finish with minimal grout loss, avoiding the need to import timber elements requiring special skills.
Standard panel forms can be employed for highly rigid, high-quality finishes in column forms with a need for timeconsuming timber and waling assemblies, by utilising the strength of the novel column coupler component.
Simple in use, but smart in design concept, the panels are secured in a similar way to the crane-handled version. A lightweight clamp is pre-set and clamped single-handed in one simple action. It can be attached at any number of horizontal or vertical positions. Once fastened, a tight connection is maintained to avoid grout loss. The holes are positioned at the strongest part of the panel.
Single sided forms
SGB LOGIK ® 50 panels can also be used to form single-sided wall forms in conjunction with SGB MULTIFORM components in an A-frame configuration.
Circular (polygonal) forms
Standard LOGIK ® panels can be used to create impressive circular structures in conjunction with the use of their versatile panel clamps and tie plates.

WALL FORMWORK CIRCULAR
LOGIK ® 360 LOGIK ® 360 is the first plywood-faced truly circular panel formwork system. The patented design of LOGIK ® 360 demonstrates SGB Formwork’s innovative approach to circular formwork. LOGIK ® 360 has very few components, cutting the chances of site losses to an absolute minimum. A LOGIK ® 360 wall is constructed with a 1.24m inner panel, a 1.25m outer panel, LOGIK ® 60 ties and tie washers, and LOGIK ® 60 adjustable clamps. The new design has eliminated the hundreds of bolts, turnbuckles, beams, walers and multiple components commonly used on older systems. LOGIK ® 360
Truly circular panel formwork system Fast and simple setting procedure Fully assembled panels Lightweight slim profile ® Compatible with LOGIK 60
Crane handling and transport are also much easier with LOGIK ® 360, because of the low unit weight of approximately 58kg/m2, combined with the slim profile of the panel, measuring just 140mm deep. The standard SGB Formwork panels can be used for circular walls down to 4 m minimum radius. Further panels are available to cope with smaller radii, down to 2.5m minimum radius. LOGIK ® 360 is also fully compatible with the LOGIK ® 60 panels, making transitions from straight walls to circular walls simple and easy.

Single-sided forming 2 to 5m modular sizes Larger sizes available Sliding foot feature Compatible with all formwork types
MULTIFORM A-Frames are used in the construction of single-sided walls when tying through the formwork is not possible. A-Frames are used for the construction of concrete walls cast against the face of existing walls in basement construction or similar. MULTIFORM A-Frames are available in 2m, 3m, and 5m modular sizes, fully assembled for immediate use on site. They are compatible with all LOGIK ® panel formwork as well as traditional soldier and beam formwork. The frames are made up largely of bolted connections, making repair and maintenance simple and easy. Accessories for the A-Frames such as walkway brackets are fully compatible with LOGIK ® panel formwork, making good cross-utilisation of products. The A-Frames contain a ‘sliding foot’ feature to enable the wall to be fully tightened to the wall kicker. The 2m Mini A-Frame is ideal for the construction of deep base pours where tie deformation prevents the use of double-sided concrete pours. The modular units allow simple, fast, reliable installation. The Mini A-Frame contains a unique frame-setting feature, allowing the units to be anchored and accurately aligned in just two actions.

CUPLOK ® SUPPORT
SGB CUPLOK ® was the first ever galvanised, multi-purpose scaffold system in the UK. It is a well proven heavy duty support system which is relatively light and easy to assemble and suitable for falsework support or access, building and civil engineering projects.
Soffit support
SGB’s experience of using CUPLOK on projects all over the world enables us to offer you absolute confidence when using this system.
Complimenting CUPLOK ® is our DU-AL ® Aluminium Beam System. DU-AL ®’s high strength and low weight result in increased productivity.
The principal feature of CUPLOK ® is the unique node point - locking up to four horizontals in one single action without the use of nuts, bolts or wedges. The locking device is formed by a fixed lower cup, which is welded to the vertical at 0.5m intervals, and a sliding upper cup. The forged blade ends of the horizontals are located in the lower cup. The upper cup is moved down and rotated by hammer blows to give a positive and rigid connection.
The DU-AL ® system comprises a selection of three beams in a variety of lengths. In each case the beams are supported in forkheads and fastened by means of a quick fixing clamp.
®
Hot-dipped galvanising is the finest practical coating that can be applied to a scaffold system, providing a long working life and better handling to the user as well as improved appearance and durability.
Spigotless Verticals
The range of CUPLOK equipment gives the system the capability to tackle virtually any soffit support application with the most cost-effective approach. We can provide a large number of grid variations to fit steel, aluminium or timber joists. ®
Benefits
The key advantages of CUPLOK ® over traditional scaffolding are: 74 kN leg load Unique node point: four connections in one Systemised quick erection bracing 20% lighter than traditional scaffolding
These allow the insertion of jacks with various head components to meet the requirements of different support applications, such as aluminium beam support or decking systems. Code No. 270043 270083 270133 270183 270233

SGB TOPEC® TOPEC® Slab Formwork System
TOPEC® is a simple, cost effective slab formwork system configured to deliver high output rates in conventional building applications. The system has been designed and developed by SGB’s sister company Hünnebeck and is used widely by Hünnebeck subsidiaries across the world. Like all successful products, simplicity is the key to the TOPEC ® concept. TOPEC® is a frame panel system with only two basic components, a panel and a prop. The aluminium framed panel is lightweight and easy to handle. With its powder coated finish, adhesion to
concrete is low and cleaning and maintenance are simple. The panel can be used with either the Europlus tubular steel prop or GASS® aluminium legs depending on the slab height and thickness. TOPEC® is designed to be erected and dismantled from below, for room heights up to 3.5m. Above that height panels can be installed using a mobile tower or the purpose designed TOPEC® lift. The TOPEC® system is ideal for fast repetitive work. This section outlines the features and benefits which will make TOPEC® the perfect solution for you.

MULTIFORM CLIMBING BRACKET Multiform Climbing Bracket
Integral climbing of formwork and platform Panel formwork or traditional formwork Allows a variety of secondary beams Trip-free access deck
MULTIFORM Climbing Brackets are a robust economical solution to the integral climbing of formwork and access platforms. The system can be used with either LOGIK ® panel formwork or MKII SOLDIER and DU-AL ® aluminium beam formwork. The formwork is fixed to the travelling cart assembly and simply rolled back along a rack and pinion, giving huge savings in cranage time. The versatile MULTIFORM Climbing Bracket allows a variety of secondary platform beams to be used, up to a maximum size of 225mm, giving a stiff reliable platform for any size span or cantilever. When the next anchor point has been fixed, the whole unit is lifted up, giving a safe area for reinforcement to be fixed. The anchor point consists of a recoverable anchor cone, with a nailing disc to assist casting the cone into the wall pour. The MULTIFORM Climbing Brackets come with a range of trailing platforms for access to the cast face for making good and recovering anchor cones. The internal platform beams can be climbed either using the pivoting foot, or an internal shoe bolted onto the wall. If the pivoting foot is used, a special steel mould is available for casting the correct shaped bearing port into the wall.

CLIMBING FORMWORK CRANE-CLIMBING
MULTIFORM GUIDED CLIMBING BRACKET Multiform Guided Climbing Bracket
• Allows lifting of whole formwork assembly without separation from the structure • Faster, more accurate positioning • Safer lifting operation • Lifting less affected by wind speed. The MULTIFORM Guided Climbing Bracket offers all the benefits of the of the standard MUTIFORM climbing assembly (page 64) but with the addition of a guide track assembly fastened to the concrete structure. Raising the formwork to its new position is achieved by using a crane to slide the entire assembly up these rails. By keeping the formwork assembly linked to the building, the lifting operation is simpler and safer and allows accurate repositioning more quickly than with other systems. The guide rails are detached from below the formwork and transferred to the next lift when the shuttering or panels are struck, allowing the progression of the formwork assembly to the next level. The Guided Climbing system also allows lifting under adverse wind conditions as the formwork assembly is never released from the building. The formwork assembly is attached to the guide rail by a ratchet device which permits only upward movement, safeguarding the system from accidental lowering or slippage.

MKII SOLDIERS MKII Soldier Bridge Parapets
• Underslung suspended falsework • Steel composite bridges • Pre-cast concrete bridges • Overslung static/travelling frame Standard MKII SOLDIERS and ancillaries can be used for the construction of concrete parapets and bridge decks. The soldiers can be underslung beneath the bridge to enable the concreting of bridge decks and parapets to both steel composite and pre-cast concrete bridge construction. The strong, versatile MKII SOLDIERS make an ideal solution for suspending bridge falsework over roads, railway lines and waterways. The underslung solution can be used for the construction of the full width of a bridge deck in a single pour. The MKII SOLDIER has also been used on numerous projects as an overslung frame. This solution gives an economical frame for repairing bridge parapets or casting newly formed parapets after the central deck section has been poured. The versatile MKII SOLDIER overslung frame can be a project-specific design, using standard soldier components, to make a strong, stable frame for the construction of any size of parapet.

BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION BRIDGE DECK SUPPORT
CUPLOK ® SUPPORT • 74kN leg load • Unique node point: four connections in one • Systemised quick-erection bracing • 20% lighter than traditional scaffolding The design of CUPLOK ® is ideal for bridge support work since its strength and versatility can produce great savings in erection and supervision times on site. The fastening of four components at once, on one level, makes CUPLOK ® a highly economical support medium. Systemised bracing and the rocking (sloping) components cater for falls in both directions. SGB have a wide variety of ledger sizes (from 0.6m to 2.5m) to produce the most economical grid layout for any thickness of slab. The 74kN leg loading capacity will reduce the number of vertical or horizontal supports required, and improve productivity. CUPLOK ® has a long history of successful support to motorway and trunk road bridges across the world.

GASS® GASS® Bridges
DIN approved
• 140kN leg load • High productivity • Integrally braced ledger frames • Adaptable eight-way connection GASS® is a high productivity aluminium shoring system suitable for supporting bridge deck pours. Its high leg load capacity of 14 T maximum SWL makes it ideal for large, heavily loaded concrete decks.
GASS® has been officially checked and approved for load rating by the Government Structures Office in Germany to code DIN 4421, which closely resembles the British (European) Standard BS EN 12812: 2004.
GASS® is made up from a unique outer leg with eight different locations for connecting the bracing frames. The strong Inner Leg, with a massive 1300mm of adjustment, gives the system superior flexibility in overcoming different ground terrains and obstacles. The ledger frames are locked into the outer legs by a fast and simple-to-use wedge action. The stiff ledger frames eliminate the need for any further bracing members, making GASS ® one of the fastest shoring systems to assemble.
Full second order theory datasheet rules apply, giving simple compliance to BS EN 12812: 2004 class B1 structures without a 15% load penalty.
For details of GASS ® components, please refer to Slab Formwork: Aluminium Shoring: GASS® (pages 44-51).

MKII SOLDIERS
• Modular facade-retention solution • Site-specific framed structure designs • Heavy duty shoring up to 500kN/leg • Economical bracing solutions With the galvanised steel MKII SOLDIER it is possible to make-up three-dimensional structural frames for use as facaderetaining shores or heavy duty dead shores. For this purpose a multiway connector and special braces have been developed. The multiway connector is a special node point in the frame structure, on to which a maximum of eight Soldiers can be connected. A special push/pull bracket has been developed to enable intermediate bracing with soldiers to be used at any arbitrary point on the soldier. The MKII SOLDIER, when used as a compression member, has different loading characteristics about its two main axes of inertia due to its asymmetric shape. The arrangement of the shore when erected may also dictate the method of bracing to obtain the required capacity. Special details have been developed for use in facade-retention applications for connecting the frame to the facade. Heavy leg loads of up to 500kN can be supported by the multiway connector by doubling up the vertical Soldier. A special wedge jack component is available if the structure has to be struck under load. These jacks have a limited height adjustment range of 100mm.

ACCESS AND EDGE PROTECTION STAIR TOWERS
SGB SITE STAIRCASE Best practice and increasingly stringent regulations support the move away from ladders as the means of temporary access on construction sites. The SGB Site Stairway offers a simple, safe and practical solution.
Features and benefits
•Available in six lengths, which can be joined and supported to offer a single run climb height of up to 7.5m. •Double handrail on both sides, which automatically adjusts to the correct height.
They are quickly and easily installed on site, straight from the transport, and are ready for use in minutes.
•Whatever the angle of the stairway, the treads will remain horizontal. •An automatic locking mechanism is designed to engage once the stairway is at the correct angle.
They can be set up between 25° and 50° on table forms, in service ducts, around the perimeter, or elsewhere, frequently protecting the building’s stairs from the wear and tear of the construction process. They fully comply with EN 12811 (as Temporary Work Equipment for access between levels on scaffolding).
•A manual locking device is available in addition to the automatic locking mechanism. The manual lock is mounted in the pre-drilled holes on the opposite side to the automatic lock. This can be used during long-term or permanent stairway installation, or where the ground is loose or uneven. •Manufactured in steel with a durable galvanized finish as standard (painted and lacquered alternatives are available). •Treads have a course expanded metal plate for grip, which also clears muddy footwear in use. •The bottom of the stringers have points to prevent slipping. •Allows access for two persons at any one time. •Being over 750mm wide, the stairway permits occasional passing if required. For high passage rates the stairways can be set up in pairs, each for one way traffic. •Can be pre-joined to the required length before being sent to site, alternatively they can be site assembled. •The stairways can be folded flat for ease of transport.
Locking mechanism
•Stairways can be quickly and easily erected on site by two operatives. The handrails are simply secured in place, and the stairway is then lifted into position using lifting equipment.

Applications and arrangements
Slab attachment
This highly flexible temporary stairway offers a simple and effective access solution: • Between levels on scaffolding • Access to table platforms • Access up slopes and embankments • Stairways can be used in lieu of permanent stairs • Access into service ducts • Access to temporary site offices and cabins.
The slab attachment is mounted on the stairway splice bracket to secure the stairway at the top. It is bolted to the concrete using an anchor or through the deck material. Scaffolding attachment
The scaffolding attachment is designed to hook over standard scaffold tube, and to integrate with some system scaffolds. It can have a lock fitted, and should be used with scaffolding fittings to prevent sliding sideways.

Installation
Two operatives can easily install stairways of up to 9 steps. 12-step units and above will require lifting equipment. Units over 21 steps require a Combibeam for stiffness. Pre-fitting this before transport speeds up erection on site. The top is fixed to the upper level with one of a range of attachment devices to prevent movement in use, and the bottom of the stringers have points to prevent slipping. All the stairway units are cross-braced between stringers for increased stability; however, it is recommended that they are erected on a flat, secure surface, or onto a sole plate if on soft ground.

EXTRAGUARD™ SYSTEM • Triple wire rigid-mesh edge protection • Highly durable galvanised and powdercoated finish • Fast and simple installation • Patented range of fixing components SGB EXTRAGUARD™ is systemised metal panel edge protection offering a higher standard of safety to reduce the risk of falls from height. EXTRAGUARD™ is a highly visible full-mesh panel with a galvanised and powder-coated finish. EXTRAGUARD™ comprises a combination of patented clamping devices, posts and full-mesh panels with a unique triple wire construction. This gives the mesh an unrivalled rigidity and also protects the edges of the mesh from damage. New Safety Standard
The new prEN 13374 ‘Temporary Edge Protection Systems’ is the very first British/European Standard to be written solely for edge protection. The new requirements fundamentally change the approach to edge protection. In particular, the deflection requirements apply to the whole mesh panel area, not just to the top rail. The rigid triple wire EXTRAGUARD™ mesh panel fully meets these requirements.
